Wanting to catch both of these our first night - just in case they would be cancelled other nights. Fantasmic is on at 9 and 10 with fireworks at 9:25 - is there a way to do this with decent seats for both? I'll be trying this on March 14th (a Sat)

If you want to pay for the dessert buffet seating for Fantasmic, you can reserve for the 9pm show & they'll let you stay there to watch the fireworks which will follow directly after. The price is $59 per person (no matter the age), but it is a great view & you don't have to find a place to watch Fantasmic 2 hrs prior to the show. Otherwise watch the fireworks then make your way over to the Rivers of America for the 2nd showing of Fantasmic. There are usually less people for the 2nd show.
Have fun!!
PS: if you want to do the reserved seating call at 8am (pacific) 30 days prior to March 14th. The seats go fast!!

will there be fireworks taht day? or are they still repaving main street? there were no fireworks at all while we were there.

The fireworks will start running daily starting from March 8th.

This is do-able. However, you must have a plan to do it "right."

Yes, you can watch the fireworks from New Orleans Square (where Fantasmic! takes place); however, you will NOT get to experience it to its fullest.

The Remember, Dreams Come True fireworks show has LOTS of very cool effects that are seen on Main Street, but not at the Rivers of America (NOS). Particularly, there are effects on / with the Castle that can only be seen from Main Street.

IF you want to see the fireworks from Main Street and Fantasmic!, the easy way is to do them on different nights. The way to see them both on the same night is as follows...

Note: You stated in your post that Fantasmic! is at 9p and 10p. It is not. It is at 9p and 10:30p.

1. Get to Main Street early to get a spot for the fireworks show. You want to get a spot on the left side of Main Street (facing the castle) near the Hub. This is important.

2. Watch the fireworks show.

3. The SECOND the show ends (9:45p), you need to walk quickly towards the entrance of Frontierland. There will be 1,000s of people doing the same thing. There will also be 1,000s of people coming out of that area from the 9:00p Fantasmic! show. Keep your group together and just keep walking. (We do a single file, all hold hands line. LOL) Stay to the right as you walk towards the River. It will be VERY crowded.

4. Once you get to the riverfront, other guests will already be there. Kindness to others goes a LONG way. find spot near the center of the island (it'll make sense when you see it). It will probably be about 10:10 - 10:15. Get settled and wait for the 10:30pm Fantasmic!

It's not easy, you have to deal with MAJOR crowd movement, but it's do-able and gives you a great view of both shows.

To add to that.

Keep in mind also that within the last few minutes of the RDCT show, you will see some people begin to make their way to F! This will compel you to start moving too, but don't panic and start making a break for it.

Yes to Disney Dream's suggestion. That is exactly what we do when I have to see both in one night. Very important to keep your group together and listen to what the CMs are telling you when you get to the Rivers of America. If you don't, you will find yourselves in the masses LEAVING Frontierland.(Done that too, my DH was not amused) We've been able to get decent spots on the pavement in front of the control booth.

I also agree with Disney Dream's 100%. That is exactly what we do. If you have never seen RDCT before, you must see it from the hub or Main Street towards the hub. :thumbsup2

To add, we usually go high season for 3 days and thus have multiple nights to see F! and RDCT. So we try to do it on different nights. But we have done it on the same night twice.

Thanks everybody! As I have a newbie in the group we may try to do different nights to not overwhelm her. My concern is we only have two nights available - so if we get weather and they have to cancel we'll miss one :(

I may have to give her the "commando" pep talk for that night I normally reserve for WDW days. :rotfl2:

I've heard so many reviews that Fantasmic is better at DL than at DHS that I would be very disappointed if I didn't get to see it for myself

You definitely must see F! at DLR. Aside from the seating issues, it is much, much better than at WDW, IMO.
Also even if RDCT is offered on multiple nights of your stay, be sure to catch it the first night, as it is often canceled due to high winds.
