I have to shoo her away from the fireplace constantly It can't be good for her fur or skin!

We don't run our fireplace at all, but our babies love to sit on the heating ducts and steal my down blankets.

hee-hee, love the kitty pics. We don't have a fireplace, but Cali likes to sleep underneath the heater vent in the small bathroom in the winter.

LOL! Yes, ours does this too.

We heat our house by a pellet stove. If I come home from work & the stove isn't on & the house is a bit chilly, she sits in front of the stove & MEOWS (read: SCREAMS!!!) at me until I light it. LOL

I just remembered this, so I dug up the photos
Here's my beloved Panda, rest his soul...in our old apt doing what cats, apparently, do best! (it was a gas stove and that pilot light was HOT!!)


I also remember our Peepers, aka: the "Lamp Lady" She used to hug the living room lamps, with her face up inside the shade, near the bulb I have a pic of that but couldn't find it

My mother's cat gets as close to the fireplace, as possible, when we have a fire going. He never got on the stove though or he would have been her late cat

Those are so cute! We don't ever light our fireplace since it's not cold here and birds like to live in it. Our dog probably would like it, though. He's always begging for me to use the hair dryer on him.

Our dogs have always worshipped the fireplace, as long as there is a fire going...I've often wondered how they can stand the heat, because sometimes it gets downright hot sitting so close!

We don't have a fireplace, but the other day I found our pup, Max, sleeping on the carpet in the bathroom.

My terrier Anni loves to sleep in front of the fireplace when it is lit. She is the only one that does it. Sometimes, I have to chase her away from it. Because when I lay my hand on her she is warm to the touch. The cat has no interest in it at all. Which is strange, because she really doesn't like cold weather.
