Firefox not working for vmk?

I think the only suggestion I have left is to maybe reinstall Shockwave directly from macromedia's site. I don't know why it works on my work desktop, but I've been playing all day, so I know it works

downloaded shockwave again from macromedia, that makes 7 times now lol. that didn't do it.

Me too! Lol, VMK hates us!

For the stacking crates issue: have been having this problem since yesterday. I kind-of found a fix for it this morning:
1. Move the crate so it's lined up where you want it.
2. Now, slowly move your mouse cursor down so it is on whatever is below the crate: the ground or another crate. Now left click to release the crate.

Seems to work for me, hope it helps. I have enlisted the help of a computer genius in this Firefox problem, I will inform you of any soultions he may come up with.

Bezoar aka JeanJoe: Thanks for the nice warm welcome (again)!! I have been hovering more and more on the DIS, and I think I am now addicted! It's all wdwr's fault: she got me hooked on the food porn thread and tales of the tag fairy, and now you're all stuck with me!

You are most welcome Atleast this shows that I'm not completely insane (tho' I won't guarantee that on all subjects!) and I'm still scratching my head at why it's not working for some others...

Now, of course, I'm determined to figure out why.

On a Mac running Safari, for the last 2 days, I've also been having intermittent dictionary load errors. All I've had to do is reload, and it usually works after another try or two.

just a quick question. Are those of you who can get in (with the user agent switch) using windows xp with service pack 2? I am runnning service pack 1. Just wondering if that had anything at all to do with it? just grabbing at straws now lol.

Yeah, I have XP with SP2 on both my laptop and my work desktop. Works fine on both machines...

It fully loads, but, I can see programming 'lingo' all over and I can't see people's typing. Weird!

That sounds similar to the dictionary load failure I've gotten intermittently.

If it happens to you again, you can still get your NPC credits, and music game performance credits (but NOT able to save a remix).

And, you can type! Just NO dictionary words. You can only type usernames, LOL!

It's so much faster than my SBC browser and IE! Thanks again fellow dis'ers for turning me onto something new!

I've been having problems with Netscape the past two days. My IE does okay, but just after the VMK logo comes up to load the screen goes black and stays there. Has anyone else had problems with Netscape as well?

I'm on XP with SP2, and I have black screen mania, too. For over a month.
I've tried to reload Flash and Shockwave from Macromedia, too.

I'm wondering if I should just uninstall Firefox completely and reinstall it
from scratch? Ugh.

I've been using IE, even though it's slow.

Although, it was actung up yesterday and I couldn't get on.

Well, my joy was short lived

It worked great last night, but today, the user agent switch thing isn't doing it. I am getting the dissapearing logo once more. I am totally confused now!!

oh, and yes, explorer gives the dictionary error, every single time. I've tried over a dozen times. And yes, during that error is when I got that disney dollars pop up after selling clothes.

I can't figure this mess out and am getting really sick of having to fight to try and play a game.

Based on the comments about the dictionary and what not problems, I half wonder if these aren't bug related and perhaps VMK just doesn't know it yet (tho' I'm sure they have logs that are spitting out errors -- maybe someone actually looks at them)

My Firefox worked for me all day at work again.
