RUN, RUN, RUN AWAY. I used a online rental service and was quoted $55/week, with taxes, $89.++ for a Ford Focus. When I took the shuttle to the their location, in a hotel adjacent to strip club. I was quoted significantly higher, I argued, telling them of my quote, they asked to see the reservation, even though they had the reservation on their computer screen, I pulled the reservation up on my phone. Eventually I was given the quoted rate. They proceed to give me a Mazda 2, A tiny little car, equivalent of a Ford Fiesta. I was tired and I took the car.
Later that Night, at a stoplight in Clearwater, I WAS PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE, FOR HAVING TAGS ON THE CAR OVER 6 MONTHES EXPIRED, and I received a warning. Please note the plates showed current according to the stickers. I took the car back the next morning, I was given a excuse about the car being from out of state, and the Florida plates on the car were not transferred to the car yet. The Police officer did not say that the tags were for another car, but, they were expired. I finally received a larger car, a Chevy Cruze, not a bad car, no complaints there.
When I brought the car back, again I was told that they were billing a higher rate. Again I told them of the rental rate, and once again, they asked to see my rental paperwork. Once again, I brought the rental reservation up on the phone, finally after several minutes, they actually billed me at the rental rate.
To recap; twice they tried to bill at a higher rate than quoted, rented me a car quite a bit smaller than quoted, and the car had ILLEGAL TAGS
