Okay, I should be beaten with a stick. :rotfl2:

I went to IOA in 2004 and I did ride Dueling Dragons--but I don't remember which one I rode :confused3 It was very late (shortly before the park closed). We had paid for one of those Universal Express passes and my nephew and I just got in the shortest line. It was an awesome ride!!

Everest is fun; but fairly smooth. Most of the folks I've ridden with seem to have their hands up in the air most of the ride:scared1:

In my case it's the 'dark ride' aspect of The Mummy that does me in, doesn't give me a chance to do my patented turtle move, to brace my neck. If i can see 'it' coming i'm usually okay.:confused3

So what do you think about Rockin Roller Coaster?
And everyone has a different opinion....Everest beats me to death...just with the stops and pulling of the backward parts. Sucks.

I find both RNR and Everest quite rough. But, then again, Vekoma is the manufacturer, so that is probably why. I'm not a big fan of Vekoma.

i used to like r and r coaster cause it was aerosmith music.
after i went on it a few times, i try to avoid it unless i am with people that just have to go on it.

i always carry a small bag with a rain poncho in it. when i am on that ride, i have to use my right hand to hold that bag against the side of my head to brace myself. i can't stand that without it, my head gets tossed from one side to another. it kind of takes the fun out of the ride.

don't have that problem with dd though.

 RnR ......matter of fact....love ALL coasters....the more loops, barrell rolls, etc....the better!! :cool1: bring 'em on.....

I've always skipped RNR:rolleyes1 , the part where you pull a G in the beginning is too much for me to consider. DH & DS both say that part reminds them of when you shoot up the 1st hill in the Mummy.

Don't have a problem with Mission Space though; even though it throws off a G or two.:confused3 Have seen some big dudes green as heck after the ride though; same as on TOT - guess we all have an Achilles Heel.

I've ridden Everest several times in a row w/o incident; as stated before, since I can see the turns coming & know when it's going to be intense - I can prepare for it. Once rode with a 60 year old woman who didn't hold on the entire time:eek: ; kept laughing & calling me scardey cat in oriental accent.:rotfl: My family ripped on me for days.

I love the wooden, old-school coasters; the bouncing around doesn't bother me; it's just those sudden 'wild-mouse' type turns on the Mummy (where my body's going one way & my head still the other). Do think the themeing/special effects are absolutely incredible (beat EE hand's down in that dept.).

Must be a Berks County thing, I'm the same way. Have you ever been on Kingda Ka at Great Adventure?? That initial 0 to 128 in like 4 seconds is awesome :thumbsup2 Also the new woody, "El Toro" is great as well!

keishashadow......I'm thinking to the solution to your problem is to get a neck-brace! Then you'll be steady!! :thumbsup2

Mike....haven't been on Kingda Ka, but was on the same type of ride at Kings Dominion....HyperSonic i think.....

b'smom - wonder if they'd let me ride w/a neck brace?;) I've always threatened to stuff one in my fannypack:rotfl: (which i've traded up to a shiney new bagallini, much to my fashion police family's delight lol).

btw, how'd you like Kings dominion, it's on our short list for a weekend (didn't like busch gardens williamsburg, too much walking, too little riding).

Well, we rode lots, but we went in mid August, so certain attractions opened later than the park, some things not open at all. DH & I had such a good time (10?) years ago when we went, so we took DS for 2 days/1 nite. Not at all like I remembered. They have lots of coasters, but after UO, a let down. More along the lines of Dorney/Hershey Park now....it's good for a day, but not more than that. The Scooby ride is cool (think "neon" and Buzz Lightyear ride) and the newer coasters were cool.....the Italian Job coaster was a let-down.....but like I said, we went here after UO. Stayed at the "Dump Western" onsite, so just walked across the parking lot to park. There was a lot of walking, but the attractions are close together, so you're not walking far till you get to where you are going...... I'll try to remember to PM you pix.....(if I don't do it by Thursday, yell at me....I forgot).....:rolleyes1

thanks b'smom - I was looking @ the 'dump western';) ; appeared to be the closest to 'on-site' Wonder where a decent place to stay is? Perhaps we'll just venture over to Hersheypopcorn:: .

Veering dangerously :offtopic: here; but in the interest of information...there's a sweet deal going for $89 that I'm still trying to talk DH into;) ;

The 2007 Cedar Fair Maxx Pass gives Passholders access to Kings Dominion and free admission to all 12 of these other great Cedar Fair amusement parks across North America during the 2007 season, including:

Carowinds, Kings Island, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, Dorney Park, etc.; even Knotts Berry Farm.

keishashadow...i sent you a PM....

and, i found a better pic of the HyperSonic at KD...not as good as Kingda Ka, but still "quite the ride":
