Fire at Hampton Beach, NH

Grew up going to Hampton and was just there last weekend.

Oh no! We went to Hampton Beach every summer when I was growing up. I can still smell the fried dough from Blink's! How awful.

Oh that's so sad!

I haven't been up there in years, but spent a lot of time there in the 80's hanging out at the arcades and going to shows at Club Casino.

so so sad I grew up a few miles away and have very fond memories of the area. Just last year ( or maybe the year before) the was a fire that impacted a few buildings as well.

All those old buildings are probably in tough shape.

Yesterday's weather/wind didn't help either, I'm sure.

I saw on the news that the wind was making transformers blow.

I'm glad it wasn't summertime when this happened. It was pretty dead there last week.

My brother lives near Hampton Beach. He said the sky looked on fire from where he lives, about 3 miles away.

At least it wasn't the Ashworth. I have fond memories of the Ashworth! I lived in Portsmouth for several years and worked in Seabrook. Used to stop at Hampton Beach on my way home from work to catch the last of the sun and get something for dinner. Folks at work thought it was funny that I always had beach things in the back of my truck!

My daughter went to day care with a boy who's family owned the Happy Hampton arcade at the time. I can remember going to his birthday party and the kids having the most awesome time. They had all the arcade play they wanted and even got the tickets to exchange for prizes. My daughter was very sad to hear that it was gone.

I've seen pictures on the news and it looks like a big hole on Ocean Boulevard. Those old buildings probably went up pretty quickly. It is probably lucky that it wasn't even worse.
