Staying at BWV today, and we had to evacuate our room around 11:15. The Fire Alarm was blaring in our room, and we exited out to the balcony, since we were on the ground floor (1019). There was lots of commotion across the walkway, with several CMS scurrying about. This continued for about 20 minutes, and we peeked back into our room just in time to find water seeping under our entry door! Fortunately we had just cleared that foyer area, preparing for our exit tomorrow. We used all the towels we had in the bathroom to dam the water at the door. Meanwhile, the alarms subsided and most folks were allowed back into their rooms. Housekeeping showed up right about then to assess our damage and offered to move us to another room. Three other rooms in our corridor were flooded pretty badly, and people were being transferred. Our seeping had subsided by then and, since we check out tomorrow anyway, we declined the need to change rooms for just one night.
Made for an interesting stay! Just wondering if anyone else was here to experience this, today. :)

My DD and her boyfriend are there On 3rd floor...checked in yesterday after they left BLT. They did not mention anything about issues. They did leave though to hit Epcot at 11 so could be why.

Sounds like a sprinkler head activated on your floor. Either someone was messing with one or it just failed. We were on a trip many years ago and were spending the night in Butte, MT on our way to Vancouver Island, BC. We heard the alarm activate and I ran to the door and felt it to see if there was a fire outside our door. Turned out someone had used a sprinkler head to hang something in a room near ours and that broke the head causing water flow activating the alarm. Sprinkler water can be really nasty and stinky since it just sits there until it is activated.

Maint. Crew set off the sprinkler 1 floor above us. So lucky we had just moved items outvof the foyer!😁

I have had a crew hit one before with a ladder in a commercial building.. If you are quick you can keep it to a couple hundred gallons, never a good day

We were at Tratorria al Forno having our late breakfast when it all started. We all had to exit the restaurant until they gave an all clear for us to return. When we finished breakfast and went to the lobby of the BWV to wait for the Magical Express, we saw numerous fireman going in and out of the building.

I have witnessed this before at hotels and I think hotels need to remind guests of things that are happening such as fire alarm testing because when I have stayed in hotels with my parents they always used to inform guests of anything happening during their stay. Like at one hotel I was in my parents and I were sleeping and were about to wake up when a buzzer kept going on and on and on and it turned out they were testing fire alarms and there was no sign posted on our hotel room door about this. Suppose it was a real emergency and Disney needed to evacuate people on your floor and what they should've done was at least gave you a reminder by calling your villa to tell you what would be going on. Because when you're in a hotel on vacation there's nothing worse than trying to relax then suddenly the fire alarm goes off and you have to pack up your things and calm down freaked out kids when there's nothing really going on to scare kids. I'm glad you were okay during that day and hope that Disney Vacation Club can at least give you something for a consolation gift for what had happened to you during your trip
