Mal, I thought I read somewhere that VMK staff asked answers not be posted anywhere. Maybe Fin had it in her signature for a while this fall?

They asked not to, but it is not a violation of the board or vmk to post, tell, or help other with quest, it is how ever a violation to charge for such assistance.
The big problem was with teleporter games telling correct ones, and quest month where quest ran for days and answers were up in minutes.

This forum is set up to help our members play and if quest answers do that then yes they can be posted. Posting all the answers is in actuality the same as posting just the difficult ones.

You as a member can choose to post, read or participate in threads of your choosing but quest answers in game and in park can continue to be posted here on the DIS VMK forums.

Also, Fin just had a problem with people starting up the quest, then going to a site and using the answers for numbers 1 to 23.

What we do at the DIS is come to this thread, ask a question regarding a number that has us stumped, then people answer it. It is not a Cheat Sheet, or a Quest Walkthrough. It is just trying to unstump people on the few hard questions.

Exactly...which we really should not have to do either but we do that because some members want to complete on their own.

It's called heuristics. Our mind goes through these shortcuts to quickly unscramble the letters. The reason our minds unscramble these clues so fast is because we are given ample hints:

1. The words make up a phrase from a list of about 50.
2. There are only so many words that have l,h,a, and l in them. So, that's where heuristics plays into it: our mind automatically unscrambles it to be HALL.

Sorry Dara, but I couldn't help giggling at your explaination to Dash, having your own misspelling, that Pirate missed too when he explained why we all 'K'new where to go!

It wasn't just firefox..I froze trying to enter a room and had to F5 it. VMK was very slow for me

Bah. I just knew banquet and there's only one place in vmk that has banquet in it's title.

Duck, yes I know. Dash pm'd me about that. I saw the typo, laughed until my sides hurt, and decided to leave it that way, as it was appropriate! Hey I type 120 wpm, but I do make mistrakes! hehe

Sorry Mal did not mean to cause an issue. And this is my reasoning.

Yes VMK did asked us not to post answers to the easy quests. And since we were not being so obvious I have noticed that the quests phinny gives, no longer have mini games that made the quests hard.

And it has been going that way for a while. So that is where I got it from.
People were resepcting that request.

And most of dis seemed to following this. As to ask for help on answers and not just posting full quest spoilers. Unless it is a quest like nightmare before christmas. Which most do need spoilers for. Yes they would get posted but not the 3 hours quests seemed to be just ask questions. Not all spoilers at once.

So I did not realize this had never change that is was ok to post spoilers to the easy quests. I guess it always was but no one was doing it. I just notice that we had not be doing that. And am afraid if we do the quests will get harder again. And maybe if the poster had not only 3 posts I would have looked and it differently. Which I am wrong to do.

So yes they asked us not to post. and Yes Dis board members can choose to not listen. But I know staff read these boards. So there lies the quandry.

I for one am very glad that the hard quest with high mini-game scores have gone for now!!!

You did not cause an issue, I just thought it was an appropriate time to post that the DIS stance on posting quest answers has not changed.

I actually do not feel there is a quandary. Yes staff read these boards but what is written or said here should have no standing to what happens in the game as far as our members fearing repercussions for anything posted here. I will probably make a few mad here but what is new. Staff should not get their panties in a wad about answers being posted here.

Yavn and most of his staff have been making games for many many years and know that guides, cheats, helps or what ever name you would like to call them are the nature of the beast and will happen whether in the game, out in the open(as in posted here on the boards), in secret password entry only forums or in secret via PM, IM or by phone.

Saying that " Choosing not to listen or not respecting staff" is like saying you are bad if you post which we do not feel is the case and no one should feel scared of repercussions here or in VMK for anything said here on the DIS. We do respect VMK staff we just have differing viewpoints when it comes to helps and guides. If we did not we would not allow any help of any kind to be posted.

Wow...love the quest...although I have to admit we had a bit a few problems.! Yes it was a bit harder...it was those floors lol... kinda of fun...I had trouble with two of them the one with the checker floor. Yea we too had the room list come up...which at first I though huh...what did I click..lol but figured out that if I went around then it didn't come up. What we had the most problems was vmk being down and then trying to get back on! But it was fun and most of all I really love the items we got! Now hope we can get more of these items!!

I agree PB it was a tad harder to complete than most of the in game quests lately got stumped several times and took me over 30 minutes to complete on Maltoo.

I enjoy these Sunday morning quests... some are very easy and mean that my dd can do them fully on her own- if they have the mini games then the quests don't get done at least not by her...

This morning's quest was a little more challenging which I liked some are a bit too easy for me- but I am an adult- my daughter started this one and didn't finish- she had all the prizes so wasn't too upset but did start to get frustrated- I offered to hurry and help her finish but she just said nah and logged off the game to watch Discovery kids lol...

Good quest, though it reminds me of a player-made one "Do you know the floors of VMK?", but with better prizes! And BTW, I have to agree with Mal staff, cannot come after us. They can say they don't like us posting answers, but they need to realize that some quests are too hard to figure out on your own. We're just working to help all of our friends so every one gets prizes and no one gets left out.

Okay, I went to Neds Shop and could find nothing, but then again people were just standing around in a certain spot doing NOTHING I wonder if they were standing on it
