Hi! I wasn't sure where this question belongs, so moderator - please feel free to move as you see fit.

Background info: my fiance and I will be heading to Orlando for our honeymoon in July. We'll start it off with 2 days at Universal followed by about a week at Disney. We were looking at all of the dining options and decided we wanted to try 'cuisine' we normally wouldn't eat at home. So, on to my question...

For those who've eaten at both Finnegan's at Universal and Raglan Road at DTD - in your opinion, which do you think is better? Sorry for the lengthy post. Thanks in advance for your help!:goodvibes

As much as it pains me to say it, Raglan Road is the superior restaurant.

However, it's WAY more expensive and the vibe in the bar at Finnegan's is something to be savored.

Finnegan's is good but as Kelly said Raglan is superior.

A shot of 18 year old single malt scotch at Raglan was $26.00 and that was 3 years ago. Very pub like feel to the place with a high level of class.

If money is not a big issue i would go to Raglan. The menu is diverse and the Irish touch is evident in most every dish. We had a bread pudding with a vanilla cream sauce for dessert. We were full and really had no room left for dessert. It was that good that we ate it as if we had nothing to eat prior.

Dinner was well prepared and each dish had a touch of Irish inspired character from reading the ingredients. I am not afraid to try something off the beaten path based on a server suggestion. I had narrowed my choices down to about 5 choices and then went with the server suggestion based on their tasting of menu items prior to opening. Prompt service, discerning and knowledgeable wait staff, excellent food preparation. The only thing keeping us from going more often is the price.

Last time we went, there was an Irish step dancer performing on the small stage in the middle of the restaurant. Everyone was singing and clapping. :cool2:

I appreciate your advice! I think we'll stick with our original plan of going to Raglan Road, even though it is 'spendier'. You both reassured me that Raglan is the better choice. Thanks again :thumbsup2

Agreed that Raglan is the better choice for food and atmosphere (although I love Finnigans). Honestly, tho, the menu and "vibe" is so different between the two restaurants (despite featuring some of the same dishes) that I don't think you would be bored doing both in the same week.

BTW, at Raglan, get the bread and butter pudding for dessert. Best thing on the menu, strong contender for best dessert on WDW property.

I agree with Bonny - Finnegan's isn't very expensive. Try both :thumbsup2 Plus at Finnegan's if you have AAA you get a discount on your meal. :goodvibes

Really wish we could try both, but with so many restaurants and so few days I'm not sure if we could swing it. We're trying to do only one 'sit down' restaurant a day...we love food, but sadly, our waistlines and pocketbooks might not be able to any more than that :scared:.

This is probably the first and last time we'll be making the 5,000+ mile journey to FL just the two of us. Next time it'll probably be when we have kids and I'm sure we'll let them decide...there's just too many option!!:confused3

Thought of another question...out of all of the Universal restaurants (both parks+hotels) which would you say is the one people 'must eat at'? We're really only going to be there for one dinner so I want to make it count :goodvibes

Thanks again for all your advice!!
