Disney is giving runners who complete the Disney World Marathong on Jan 9th free admission to the parks the day after on Jan 10th. Not sure, but they maybe trying to encourage runners to run the full marathon vs. the half marathon.

Runners who collect their finisher medals from the marathon on Sunday, January 9 2011, can bring them back to Disney the next day and gain entrance at no charge into a Walt Disney World theme park on "Marathon Monday.

They are also letting participants vote on the medal....

Sorry, I'd rather pay the admission cost than run a marathon.

For those who can manage the full run, have a great day in the parks! :goodvibes

Where did you see this? I can't find it on the WDW Marathon website. I don't doubt you, I just want to see all of the details (if any) associated with it.

This means changing my original plans from leaving on Monday to leaving on Tuesday. Disney just doesn't offer free stuff enough for me not to take advantage of this one.

i'm registered for the half marathon, but i'll be happy to cheer for you as you breeze past the finish line!!! :)

Oh boy. I wasn't going to do the January races next year but am feeling really tempted.... I wonder if the half marathon medal is going to change too? I didn't read the whole thing closely yet.

For what it's worth, I liked last year's full marathon medal better (the completely gold mickey ears), compared to any of the 3 design options available for 2011. Hmm.

Thanks for posting this!

After this year's record cold during marathon weekend, there is no way I'd register for an early January race - even if I LIKED running and could use the free admission! I have an annual pass, so the offer isn't the least bit tempting.
