What is this finger scanning that I have heard they are using to help with tickets? How does that work? Thanks!!

They are using finger scanning in conjunction with ticket scanning. You put your card into the machine, wait for the light to flash, and then put your pointer and middle finger in the shape of a v into the machine. I am not sure why they are doing this. I do not think that is working as well as they anticipated. The machine never acknowleged my husband's finger scan on either time that went through the gate. They just told him to go through. They do not scan the fingers of small children.

They are doing this to prevent people from selling their unused ticket portions. Especially w/ how good of a deal a 10 day ticket is now.

They did it originally so that AP holders couldn't "loan" their passes. Now that all tickets say "Non-Transferrable, they are linking your ticket to you by checking what they call "Biometrics". I think it might be a fancy word for size & shape of the fingers.

i have a hopper pass some friends gave us with a couple of unused days on them. i know we arn't meant to use them, but would be be able to??

Were they originally bought before this year? If so, you would be able to get away with using them but they will probably make you sign the back and will do biometrics so that no one else could use them after. If you are using all the remaining days, you'll be OK.

they were bought last year (date on the back says june 04) but they have been back this year after the finger scanning came into action but they are the orignal hopper tickets (pics of mickey, goofy etc)

Did they sign them? If they did, then you probably can not use them since the biometrics will not match and you may be asked for ID.

Just returned from a brief 4 day visit. The finger scaning is the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced !!!

The crouds last week were the smallest I've ever seen....except for the entrance lines. The finger scanning does not work....It causes too many delays. One of the CM's at MK actually told me that it fails more than it works. They need to punch in a code to let most people enter.

This has got to go !!!

They should think about trying small photos on the cards. That might prove easier to do.

They tried this! We have a couple of them leftover. I plan to use the remaining days this year, but I hate to trade them in for new passes since we were SO much younger looking then!

My old AP from 1988 had a picture on it, but let's face it, everybody looks alike with :smooth: sunglasses and a hat! They never once asked me to remove them to compare the pic. I guess that didn't work for them.
