What links the card to someone? The initial finger scan? Disney should add a place on the card to write the owner's name.
DISUNC said:Ok!........ However it seems like Disney is really inconviencing everyone (especially at crowded times) to save "potential" income.
To me it seems that this finger scanning is rather EXTREME measures, and VERY MUCH A HASSLE! Trust me....I lost many hours over this the past week.
Waiting on lines to get 'scanned" going back to the hotel desk to get new cards that were inactivated....UGH!
And my Hours are worth more to me than to WDW!
!
If your tickets were purchased at a resort they will have your name on it. In any case there will be a place on the back of the ticket you will be asked to sign.threeboysmom said:I'm confused. Do the new MYW tickets have your name printed right on them? If not, what in the world would showing ID prove? I haven't had the chance to use the new tickets yet, so this may be a dumb question on my part...![]()
Disney used to have the photo tickets. They went to biometrics years ago because they are more accurate and more easily controlled.greenyskp said:I dont know why Disney doesnt just go to Photos on the AP's. Like Universal does. Its so much easier, and you only have to wait once to get your photo, then you're free to go.
People that complain about this stuff makes me angry though. Disney tickets cost a certain price. Anyone looking for a 'DEAL' on ebay is asking for it. Why should you only pay 30 dollars for a one day ticket when i have to pay 59? This is what Disney is trying to control, and I appreciate it, because I dont break disney law.

You are missing the point. Disney IS out money when people re sell tickets because the per day price of disney tickets decreases the longer you buy them for. I don't see why that is so hard for some to understand. Why would I buy a 3 day ticket for $171, when I could split the cost of a 6 day with a friend who will travel later for only $98 each. Making sure people can't share tickets is what has allowed disney to sell 10 day tickets for just $24 more than a 5 day.WedwayRocks said:Ultimately, hasn't disney already received their money for these tickets that people are selling?? So it's not like Disney is losing out on there money. It's really your own fault if you except everything at face value and don't try to find a deal. If you knew that you could buy a car cheaper from one individual then another, who are you going to go to purchase the car? Probably the one with the better price. I have been in a line behind groups of people @ these scanners that don't know what they are doing and it is completely obnoxious and the majority of the time the cast member just pushes a couple buttons and lets them through. It's very counter-productive if you ask me and should only be in place for guests with annual or seasonal passes (which I do have and dont mind getting scanned for), that way it deters from people sharing these passes with others.

I think you are just lost.WedwayRocks said:While I am at it. Doesn't it undermind the whole idea of Disney? Shouldn't more people be allowed to come to these parks and experience this time that quite obviously so many of us have taken for granted. What is so wrong with us finding ways to save money from a corporation that is so quick to try and take every last dollar that you have. Not only do they raise ticket prices, raise parking prices, raise food and merchandise prices, they do this while taking advantage of the people and staff that work there and all some can do i sit and defend Disney's money hungry policies.
Ok listen. If John and Mark each buy a 3 day pass disney would make $392. However if they buy a 6 day pass and each use three days disney only makes $171. Thus no matter how you look at it Disney is out $221. They give you a cheaper per day rate the longer you by you tickets for. Thus buying a 6 day ticket only intending to use 3 and let someone else use the other 3 is cheating the system.WedwayRocks said:Your'e entitled to your opinion. But "I think you are just lost" is kind of a weak arguement for your side. All I am asking, is do you really believe that Disney is losing money or that people are really "stealing from Disney" by buying a 6 day pass and giving the other 3 to another person? I dont think so. What does it matter if John Smith is there 3 days and Mark Wilson is there the other 3, my point is that all 6 are paid for and noone is getting away with anything.

I have posted about this before.
Disney has made the money for the initial ticket purchase.
I buy a 10 day pass and use 6 days then my brother uses 4 = 10 days.
The 10 day ticket is used in full.
There is no loss in the Disney cash drawer.
They were not cheated or scammed.
A 10 day ticket was used for 10 days.
Case closed.
Now LEGALLY it says the nontransfer rule on the ticket.
So LEGALLY I'm wrong and Disney is right.
Morally though, Disney is moneysucking the consumer, imho.
DLKT said:I also have issues with the biometric scanner beyond using it for the ticket reasons above.
The scanners ASSUME that I'm a thief from the get go.
So from my very *entry* into the Parks I am annoyed.
Great customer service, great "Magic".
