But, if you buy them from a Disney Store location you are given two reciepts so that if they are lost, stolen, or don't work you can have your tickets reissued provided you have the original copy of both receipts. They can also look up the serial number that is on your receipt and deactivate the original ticket in a way that makes it come up as a stolen ticket.
Word to the wise, if you buy from TDS and are flying keep your tickets in your carry on, putting them in main baggage check can deactivate the ticket. They also will not have your name on them.
