Of course the downside is if you lose your ticket or if it is stolen, you're just plain SOL. They won't ever be able to tell who's it is. All someone would have to do is say Oops. didn't work, here's my Id. I guess i better sign it. And they're in.

But, if you buy them from a Disney Store location you are given two reciepts so that if they are lost, stolen, or don't work you can have your tickets reissued provided you have the original copy of both receipts. They can also look up the serial number that is on your receipt and deactivate the original ticket in a way that makes it come up as a stolen ticket.

Word to the wise, if you buy from TDS and are flying keep your tickets in your carry on, putting them in main baggage check can deactivate the ticket. They also will not have your name on them.

We go in 3 weeks, bought our tickets online at disneyworld.com, no names on them, only adult on them and 6 day park hopper.....no names on these tickets.

Our tickets didn't have our names printed on them All they said was Adult 10+ and Child 3-9. My guess is that only tickets purchased upon check-in at a Disney Resort will have names on them.

You are right - if you buy tickets at the ticket windows for instance they will just have adult or child, they usually tell you to sign the ticket, and make sure each person usues his/her own ticket each time.

Children do not need to use the biometric scanner.

In the past we have had paper passes, now they came and they are plastic like a credit card, no place to sign them...so how does that work? Not that I am worried about it. I've had the scanners not work before, had the strips demagnetized...etc..and things always work out fine.

This might start a little controversy.....I work with biometric scanners...believe me when I tell you they are not 100% reliable. For instance....if a person was to use a scanner for the first time and then at the end of the day....get there nails done...then the readers would not work the following day.

My wife has problems using the scanners....they almost never let her in...the CM's always let her in as long as she has an ID.

I had a problem with the scanner one day, and it cost me one days admission on my mother's MYW ticket. I have APs, but usually carry her ticket with me, even though she is not here. One very bad morning going into AK, I mistakenly pulled her ticket out instead of mine. When the scanner didn't accept my finger scan, the CM waved me on through anyway, (it was a VERY busy morning at AK). I later realized what had happened. If the CM would have challenged me, and I had taken a second look at the ticket, I would have realized what I had done, and not spent a day of admission unnecessarily.

I have been held up before when the passes were demagnitized, and had to be re-issued new cards.

If you buy them at the parks or resorts they will have your names printed on them.

Names are not listed on the tickets purchased at the parks either. At least they weren't three weeks ago. They were also not listed on my tickets which were purchased through disneyworld.com. All tickets are not imprinted with a person's name.

The tickets purchased by friends of mine three days ago at the park ticket windows had their names printed on them. They were all 1 day tickets.

My sister and family bought tickets yesterday at the ticket window at MK and there were no names, they didn't ask for names and just sold the tickets like any other day. I can't imagine they want to slow the lines down anymore than the scanner already does by having CM's typing names into computers, checking spellings, etc.

Maybe the names were only printed on them since they were Florida Residents.

The finder-keeper might not necessarily get in. If the ticket had prior usage he might be sent to guest relations and there be questioned about his prior trips. If his prior trips don't match the ticket's usage, the ticket is seized.

If you don't have proof of payment (or wrote down the letters and codes on the back) you might not get the ticket back even if it was seized.

You don't want to put tape on your tickets. It might get stuck in the scanner.

Not always so. We did a 1 day in Dec (friend in FL) and I bought all 4 tickets at the gates (AK). CM asked me for my ph# and I'm in the system b/c I've gone twice and stayed onsite. Each ticket printed up with my name on it. Even DD's 3-9 ticket. NOW when we went to Guest Relations to update my best friends to a FL Resident, they took her ticket and printed her a new one with her name. Then on our way out of the park we stopped to upgrade my 1-day to a 10-day and DDs to an AP. They then took DDs and put her name on it. My sister still has her 1 day with my name on it.
