finger scan/biometrics ??

I'm not sure if this has been asked or not..I've been looking but have not found the answer.

I am purchasing a ticket for my son and we will not use all of the days on this trip. He is now 3 years old. We will definately be back the same time next year, maybe before. Obviously with a growing 3 year old...his measurements on his hand are not going to match in the future...what if we didnt use the ticket until he was say 8. The measurements on his fingers are going to differ a lot!! How are they handling this, does anyone know???

Under 10 years old do not do the finger scan.

So what happens when they turn 10, but are continually growing? I was just thinking of this while reading another thread. What if I was to buy a non-expiring MYW ticket and DD, who is now 13, would return to WDW in 5 years to make use of the unused days?
