"Fine! We can go to Disney, but I'm not happy about it!" **08/21 X5** Complete

Hey, don't knock the Dumbo bonus FP, lol Usually the bonus is the totally unnecessary Philharmagic. But oh yeah, A Peter Pan FP would be so nice. :)

Wow, that totally threw me when you were meeting the Princesses in Town Square. I almost forget they were even ever there. And UGH, Aurora's old dress. Hideous.

I guess a FP for Dumbo is better than for like, the Carrousel. If I'd gotten something like that, I probably would have just stood there and laughed, and then a poor CM would have had to escort the crazy lady out of the park.

I know, it's so vintage now! Just like the paper FPs ;) I still maintain they should have put Anna and Elsa there, but I guess if it's a temporary move while they're building in Epcot anyway, then they'll just keep going with their plan of moving TinkerBell there (which, it baffles me that putting her in TST means no more fairy friends? Like, they could fit three princesses in there, and Tink doesn't exactly take up much room!)

And I know, that dress, ugh. Tell me about it. I do feel very sorry for Aurora though as she's meeting with Anna and Elsa. Poor girl is probably being even more under appreciated than normal. I'll have to make sure we give her lots of love when we drop by in May!

November 15: Part 3 - "Wait Piglet, we want some love too!"

So after waiting probably a good half hour or so, we were finally buzzed and made our way inside the Crystal Palace to enjoy our meal - with character!

I really love that mention on the sign outside the restaurant: Buffet with Character. To me, it doesn't strike me as saying you'll meet characters inside. It's like, trying to tell me this buffet has got character. Don't anger it!

So we were very careful to be nice with the buffet. Good buffet, we appreciate you.

054_zpsc8ad7244.jpg

055_zpsb6b7cb27.jpg

Characters started making their rounds practically just as we sat down, and they were coming fast, so we decided to wait for them before we started eating. At least, that's what the order of the pictures I took dictate, but I may have rearranged them so it makes more sense.

Don't judge me, this happened over a year and a half ago!

(Well, okay. You can judge me solely based on the fact that it's taken me this long to get past the halfway point of the trip. I hang my head in shame).

Our first friend to come around was bouncy and bright as ever - Tigger!

056_zps99f3191a.jpg

I maintain that Tigger kinda creeps me out just a little. He's so tall and lean! Like, character friends are usually a bit more.. fluffy. I have the same problem with Pluto. Goofy's fine, though - I think cause he's wearing clothes.

057_zps8ab65fb2.jpg

Next to come around was old Pooh bear himself!

058_zps0ff41c3a.jpg

Now that's a fluffy character! Give him a nice, big, plushy hug. You'll enjoy it.

059_zps33a4108c.jpg

Look at Amber, all starstruck. And showing off her Pooh filled lanyard!

060_zpsa52a34c8.jpg

The gloomy one of the bunch was our next meet. Poor Eeyore, he's got such a hard life. He still looks adorable though.

061_zps2decd2b6.jpg

062_zpscdcb74c8.jpg

Finally, Piglet was the last to visit us. So he came by - we positioned ourselves to take a picture of my Aunt and Uncle first, as we'd done throughout the meal, cause nobody else is around to take a picture so you know, you gotta switch!

063_zps9f37bc66.jpg

And then... he left! Waaaah? :( What did we do wrong?! We want some love too Piglet, please come back!

We ended up tracking him down (or more like awkwardly standing by while he went and met with the next table), and once he was done making kids happy, we snatched him up before he could move on to do some more of that. We're kids at heart, don't skip us cause we don't look cute in pigtails!

064_zpsd988a6ba.jpg

There, mistake rectified.

Our feelings soothed a little, we went ahead and dug in. Food time!

065_zps244f343b.jpg

This, I believe, was Amber's plate - based on the amount of BBQ sauce on the plate, anyway! Besides, chicken, potatoes, pasta... sounds like her pick!

And if I'm right, this would make the next plate my Uncle's!

066_zpse5304148.jpg

My Aunt went a bit more healthy than the rest of us. Drat her, making us look bad!

067_zps798831ff.jpg

Though, nobody as bad as me I guess. Oh well!

068_zpsa1f88210.jpg

At least it was all nommy!

Once we were about done with our meal, our waiter approached us with a cupcake for my Aunt, seeing as it was her birthday! (Like, her actual birthday!)

070_zps60bed1aa.jpg

I don't think she ate a whole lot of it, but I do remember hearing a mention of it being good. It does look pretty tasty!

071_zpsbcf0de7c.jpg

With our meal completed, we made our way out of the restaurant to go on exploring! But not without taking a few pictures of these cute little guys, first!

072_zps95693ae1.jpg

073_zpsf482b006.jpg

074_zpsa3adc7d3.jpg

Good job on the theming, as always! As we left, they were having a Friendship Day parade around the restaurants with the characters and little kids following along (which is, as you would expect, adorable).

077_zpsdbbf9fef.jpg

We made our way outside to still greyish skies and snapped a few pictures of the area in front of the Crystal Palace. I'm kinda sad they're doing construction work over that area. I know it's meant to give more space and all, but still. Where will the ducks go?!

078_zps5aa71b6e.jpg

Won't you miss this pretty sight? I know I will.

November 15: Part 4 - "Well, this is not creepy at all"

We had a specific goal in mind as to where we were headed after our lovely lunch - and after parting ways with my Aunt and Uncle - but we got stopped short as, right by the bridge into Adventureland, we stumbled upon someone we hadn't met before - Peter Pan!

We had no idea we could even meet him there, so we were pretty stoked and hopped right in the line! There were only a couple of people in front of us, too, so we got to him pretty soon.

080_zpsbec8137e.jpg

081_zps6cf8f385.jpg

I don't remember the meeting in itself much, so I'd vouch that it wasn't particularly memorable, but that doesn't mean it wasn't nice either!

We did have someone else in mind to meet though, so we made our way past the castle and into Liberty Square, to make up for the lack of meeting her on our first night - Tiana!

082_zps99041bf7.jpg

She was very sweet, and more than happy to give hugs! I love when characters just jump at the chance of hugging you, even if you're not a little kid. Makes me feel happy :goodvibes

083_zps24477786.jpg

Our encounter with the New Orleans princess coming to an end, we headed off to walk through Liberty Square and take in our surroundings a little bit more, now that we were in the daylight!

084_zpse1288bf5.jpg

I got the American to take a pose with the Liberty Bell, cause like... why not?

We went past the Hall of Presidents, but did not stop. To this day, we have never seen this show. We will someday, we promise!

085_zpse29592e1.jpg

We can't really be blamed for skipping out that time around though - we had a different destination in mind.

086_zps2c321b6e.jpg

The Haunted Mansion!

087_zps4980e88e.jpg

088_zpseb0f9132.jpg

This is, at this point, one of Amber's top three rides in Disney (I believe maybe even top ride). It wasn't back then, though she liked it well enough, but somehow our last trip just gave her a greater appreciation of it!

089_zps7a761f86.jpg

Back when you could choose to go through the cemetery or not - vintage picture!

And of course, with this being our first time and not knowing that we would someday be made to go through this queue over and over cause the other side is now FP+ entrance, we had to see the interactive queue!

090_zpsf38aa418.jpg

No regrets!

091_zps6b53aca5.jpg

092_zpsfdb1552f.jpg

This just speaks to Disney's skill at theming. I know in the end, it's to make you feel like you're not waiting as long as you are because your attention is caught up by all the details and so you don't complain as much about lines, but still. They could just as easily not care *that* much!

093_zps027d9450.jpg

Yes, even grown ups will touch the instrument wall. Like, why wouldn't you? (Germs aside)

094_zps181b98d6.jpg

095_zpscb6b9d61.jpg

Amber touching stuff some more. That's the way you do it, guys!

096_zps85823e8a.jpg

097_zpscf1c7d7f.jpg

I had never seen the movie The Haunted Mansion at this point, but I did watch it before we went in October, so Master Gracey made a bit more sense at that point!

098_zpsab31275c.jpg

I know some people love that the Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris has its own confirmed and real story, but I actually love that there's nothing confirmed about the Haunted Mansion. It's all speculations.

099_zpse2191940.jpg

We were soon ushered inside the Mansion, and followed the directives to use no flash photography like good girls - which does mean no photography at all because of course my camera can't take adequate pictures in the dark, but you've been on the ride, you don't need a picture recap! Besides, you enjoy things so much more when you actually pay attention to it rather than looking at it through the lens of a camera! Which is why I rarely take fireworks pictures anymore.

We did get stuck on the ride, as it stopped briefly (probably to let someone on or off). And of course, we got stuck right at the end, when you've turned around and are 'falling' off the balcony, in the dark. Like, that wasn't creepy at all! Nope!

(Spoiler alert for the squeamish: We stole a few kisses. Just pecks, I promise!)

After picking up our hitchhiker ghost, we headed off and out of Liberty Square, making our way over to Fantasyland to pick up a couple of FastPasses!

100_zpsafdbf342.jpg

Winnie the Pooh, of course! I mean, we're talking about Amber here, and clearly she was on a roll when it comes to theming of the day, too.

We walked by our flying friends' long queue and did not stop, because I don't know if you can tell, but that wait time is 70 minutes (which is pretty standard for Peter Pan's Flight, but no thanks)

101_zps6d6d161a.jpg

And then we skipped by It's A Small World, not quite ready to get the song stuck in our heads for the rest of the evening.

102_zps210127f1.jpg

No, we had somewhere to go. Somewhere we hadn't actually planned on exploring, but if we had a shot at it, we weren't gonna miss it!

I'd just like to say that I really do think Tiana is the prettiest face character. Like she's always super gorgeous. Not that the other face characters aren't, but I don't know, I just think she's the prettiest of them all consistently.

Also, this was one of my favorite days.

November 15: Part 5 - "No one demands attention and flexes like Gaston!"

So, I realize this is old news now, but back then, this was a big deal.

Our intended destination was New Fantasyland!

Bear in mind, this was November 2012, before Thanksgiving, and New Fantasyland wasn't opening until early December. They had, however, started with the soft opening, but up until then, it was generally reserved for DVC members and AP holders.

So how's we end up here?!

105_zps6b5f57be.jpg

106_zps384fda45.jpg

Well, remember the whole gray sky? Notice how Amber's wearing a coat, and even I (who is a heater on two legs as a general rule) have a cardigan on once in a while?

Yeah, the weather definitely wasn't up to par that day, and the attendance level was too low for DVC members and AP holders only to keep the new land open. So they opened it up to everyone! Cue excitement!

107_zps2a766cf0.jpg

Seeing the bridge this empty is kinda weird, no?

108_zps6cb2d03e.jpg

We made our way a bit further into the new section, and what did we not see but Gaston standing there, meeting people with virtually no line? Of course we hopped in!

He was right on spot with his character, honestly. He's one of my favorite characters to meet, along with the step sisters - I wish Disney had more greeting times for them!

109_zpsc4bd6e95.jpg

Of course, Gaston had to show off his muscles with us two girls fawning over him. I cannot wait until May, when there's six of us meeting him!

And after meeting the man himself, we definitely had to stop by his tavern to have a look around!

110_zpsd5539161.jpg

111_zps5debee3b.jpg

And then, why wouldn't you get a picture with his statue?

112_zps3de71c1c.jpg

And then of the statue!

113_zps6b8fd859.jpg

Gaston everywhere! Noooo oooooone... okay, I won't start.

Obviously, I just had to go in and have a look around the place. Holy theming! Disney has done it again. I get that it's frustrating just how long it takes them to get stuff done at times, but no one can deny they get it done right.

114_zps96b6cdc2.jpg

115_zps4d4cd187.jpg

The portrait! asdfghjkl I can't

116_zpsfabf5604.jpg

After dropping by the tavern, we couldn't pass up trying out the location's most famous drink - Lefou's brew!

117_zpseda48f63.jpg

At the time, nobody knew what was in that drink. My own tastebuds established something apple with a bit of caramel flavor. I wasn't too far off!

118_zpsbaadbd08.jpg

It was good, but probably not the best day to get a frozen drink, so we sipped at it very much on the slow side as we explored around a bit more.

119_zps405e012b.jpg

120_zps074a14d8.jpg

We stopped by the ship to get a picture, because it's so pretty.

121_zps02fb6501.jpg

I wanted a picture with it. I got it. Then I took a picture of Amber and we left.

And here's the only picture you're getting.

122_zpsab7177ae.jpg

Why? Because Amber, past Walmart family portrait studio worker and photographer, decided to us the same technique as the Photopass guy who took our Winnie the Pooh picture at Animal Kingdom - except she did it faster, rendering it all blurry.

Yes, I hold grudges.

We decided not to ride anything just yet though, as for one thing we had a FastPass window closing up pretty soon, and I wanted to bring my Aunt and Uncle and show off this section to them as well!

So we headed back to the good old regular Fantasyland to use the Winnie the Pooh FPs. However, we still had a half full cup of Lefou's brew, and having spent a whole snack credit on it, I didn't want to just trash it!

Amber went on by herself, and I waited for her in the warmth of the gift shop to finish up the drink.

123_zps4bc41690.jpg

124_zps733d0869.jpg

125_zps543c0b1c.jpg

Once she was full of her happy Pooh bear feelings, we left the store and started making our way back toward the front of the park, as we had to meet up with my Aunt and Uncle around that time.

We still had enough time to take a few pictures on the way, though!

126_zps231d60aa.jpg

127_zps6540f3f1.jpg

Wishing well, I wish for warmer weather. Please?

There were people! I was trying to be quick. I'm sorry. I'll stop doing that. I'll just stop being conscious of other people and take my time to make sure you have good pictures :P

She really is! We have yet to meet or see a Tiana that doesn't fit the part.

It was a pretty good day. But it was coooold!

There were people! I was trying to be quick. I'm sorry. I'll stop doing that. I'll just stop being conscious of other people and take my time to make sure you have good pictures :P

Okay, like, three seconds more wouldn't have hurt anybody else, it's not like there were crowds around, hence why we were even let in the section :P

November 15: Part 6 - "Bonne fête!" "Thank you! Oh, erm, wait, merci!"

We made our way around the castle on our trip back down Main Street, taking a picture because it's just mandatory and the castle looks gorgeous even with gray skies in the background.

130_zps660bd7b3.jpg

Amber is so depressed that the new parade means no more wreaths during Christmas time.

133_zps06a1004c.jpg

But now, why were we headed to the front of the park? We'd had lunch not that long ago. We didn't have park hopper, so we weren't leaving. Why the random meet up?

To get our party wristbands!

135_zps887268da.jpg

That's right. We were being treated to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

We knew from the moment we were going in November that those parties would be ongoing while we were there, but at first we had decided not to go, still budget conscious. However, I still told my Aunt about it, because they were a bit more flexible, for one thing, and for another, the party night was falling on her birthday - and she loooves Christmas!

So she decided to go, and at the same time, they offered to pay for us! We were definitely thankful for that, too!

We watched the flag retrieval ceremony (whatever it's called) once we got to the front of the park, and they had this little boy help the Dapper Dans sing their song

137_zpsc4bc5098.jpg

We then made our way outside the park, cause it said on the ticket that you had to come back in through the gate to get your wristband.

138_zps48d58dd6.jpg

139_zps8b396ea4.jpg

It seemed a little silly to me though to go all the way out and back in, so as we went around, I asked one of the security guards if we could go right through as we were only wanting to get our wristbands, and he let us through. Yay for saving time!

At that point, there were still a couple of hours before the party itself would start, so it was the perfect time to show my Aunt and Uncle New Fantasyland! We trekked all the way back across the park, telling them we had something to show them.

140_zps5bbff978.jpg

Of course, they didn't really know much about this section, so to them it wasn't quite as exciting, but they were still really glad to check it out!

As we walked in, a Cast Member noticed my Aunt's birthday button, and wished her a Happy Birthday - in French! I don't know if it's because we were speaking French between ourselves at that time, if she thought her name looked French or if it goes with the theming of the new Beauty and the Beast section (with it being in France and all), but still!

My Aunt thanked her in English first, not registering the French wishes, before turning back around and calling out "Oh, Merci!" :rotfl:

We made our way over to the Little Mermaid ride first, seeing as that seemed to be the best wait to start out with. The queue was pretty much empty as it was!

144_zpse7c4e610.jpg

146_zps4ce31736.jpg

Once more, we took the time to appreciate the theming and interactive queue, although it wasn't complete just yet

147_zps7011ea70.jpg

149_zpse5cc13a2.jpg

150_zps725f0a01.jpg

Scuttles was in place, but the little crabs that now come around and show objects to determine if they belong or not were not functional just yet. They still had the signs telling you to help them out though, so it made it a bit confusing - we didn't get what that was until we rode it again last October!

151_zps66dd26e5.jpg

152_zps8944c152.jpg

153_zps94250253.jpg

Now, I know a lot of people don't consider this ride to be groundbreaking, and I don't disagree. I still enjoy it though - I especially like the feeling of going underwater, with not just the 'water' reflected on the walls around you, but the sensation of coolness that make it feel like you just dunked into the sea!

154_zps37eeafb5.jpg

155_zps5c54435a.jpg

The ride stopped a couple of times while we were on it - which, originally we took as meaning that they were still having some technical difficulties seeing as it was still new, but after going through the accessible entrance on practically every single ride last October, now I know that it was probably being stopped to allow someone on that couldn't do the moving walkway. Somehow, it never struck me that they have to do that - I don't know why!

156_zps141fafd8.jpg

157_zpsfb1a245d.jpg

158_zps39538cbf.jpg

Yes, I took a lot of pictures. It was new. It was exciting. Sue me.

(But don't, I don't really have money so it'll be a waste of time).

159_zps9a5ab0b5.jpg

160_zps08a1da10.jpg

Her hair looks good from the front. From the side? Boy does it look trippy. And weird. But not quite as weird as it does in Disneyland I guess?

168_zpsce98854c.jpg

There! Now, with that out of the way, we still weren't entirely done going through New Fantasyland! Ariel wasn't meeting at the Grotto just yet, but there was another princess we could go and visit if we so wanted - so we headed back to the front of the section!

169_zps6d85d488.jpg

And then we got in line for Enchanted Tales with Belle!

171_zpse9f6c214.jpg

Now, this is one of the experiences where if the wait is something like 25-30 minutes, I'd rather wait it out in the regular queue than get a FastPass for it. Why?

173_zps150f37a6.jpg

174_zpseb45acc6.jpg

175_zps489c978e.jpg

Because a FastPass makes you miss all of this! This is one of my favorite queues ever. It's so neat, so detailed, you can tell that the text in the book is actually in French, and I just love the whole of it.

Plus, how sweet is this portrait?

176_zps0e80845b.jpg

Alternatively, the FP queue takes you pretty much right into Maurice's workshop, so you don't really get to see any of these cool details. Sure, there's a lot more to the experience, but I think going through the house is a good portion of it!

177_zpsd994fabf.jpg

After being awed by the magic mirror that turns into a door, we were ushered in to meet the Wardrobe, and thus roles were distributed! All the kids picked were, obviously, adorable, and it was at a time when the amount of people there was small enough that even without having to resort to extra roles, most all of the little kids got something to do.

And the big kids got to be plates and silverware!

178_zps64274bc5.jpg

Not gonna lie. I wanted to be a plate. I mean, it suits me better, being round and all!

179_zpsa2f308fc.jpg

We still enjoyed our brief moment of fame, dancing around the room with everybody else.

180_zps2a4d0ac9.jpg

And then we got to meet the beautiful princess herself!

181_zpsc080ff77.jpg

182_zpsff5690a5.jpg

She was a really, really beautiful Belle. Probably one of the prettiest I've come across!

That done, we had pretty much explored all that we could, and wanted to, in New Fantasyland, and party time was drawing nearer! We wanted to get dinner out of the way before that time came though, so we split up from my Aunt and Uncle (they usually used their QS credit for breakfast, and then snacked for dinner as they wouldn't really be hungry for that much food in a day) and headed off to find a spot for food.

We ended up at Pinocchios' Village Haus. I'm personally not a big fan of the place - we've been there twice, and although the second time was a bit better, it was still a bit off. Maybe it has to do with my meal selections, but oh well. I don't think I'll give it a third try (then again, three time's a charm? We'll see I guess!)

I got the Caesar Salad with chicken. My main problem with this is that nobody thought it important to inform me that the salad dressing was with the other condiments! Like, for other salads, I can get it - but the CAESAR in a CAESAR salad is the dressing! Why do I have to add it on?!

183_zpsdf788b39.jpg

So I ate my un-dressed, very freezing cold salad a bit unhappily (the chicken was also very cold, yuck. Is that customary in the US? Cause here, even if the salad itself isn't meant to be hot, the chicken is warm). Thankfully, the chocolate gelato redeemed the meal a little.

Amber got herself a meatball sub, which she enjoyed well enough. That's actually what we both got in October, which was a slightly better decision, but even then, I'm not big on marinara sauce. She almost always gets that kind of sub at Subway, so I guess she likes it!

184_zps66c04646.jpg

With dinner out of the way, it was now officially time for the party to start! As well as the rain. Boooo rain!

It was actually more a drizzle, so it wasn't too bad, but with the cold temperature, it definitely added an even more chilly edge. I was definitely regretting not bringing a sweatshirt!

First order of the night was character greeting, so we got in line for our first group - Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella!

185_zps0e182fcc.jpg

Amber got herself involved in a nice and proper conversation while I got playfully pestered by the stepsisters.

Once that was done with, we just so happened upon the Winnie the Pooh ride, which Amber wanted me to do with her. Seeing as there was pretty much no queue at all, we just hopped into our Hunny pot and very much appreciated the warmth of the ride!

186_zps1529822f.jpg

187_zpseffcd0f6.jpg

188_zps2985680e.jpg

189_zps7105072d.jpg

At that point, I was a bit reluctant to even leave the ride and brave the cold once more, so we lingered around the gift shop for a little bit. Eventually we did have to go though. After all, there were party activities to be done!

The warmth though. I still remember how warm it was in Winnie the Pooh and how great it felt. It just made me feel all happy and it was such a good decision.

I never regret time spent on Winnie the Pooh. NEVER ;)

November 15: Part 8 - "Once Upon A Christmastime At Christmas!"

Once we left the warmth of the Winnie the Pooh gift store, we figured it was time to look around for a good parade spot! We ended up somewhere in Frontierland, not too fast from the pathway that leads up to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder.

Fair warning - this update is basically all parade pictures! If you enjoy watching the Christmas magic at Disney, take a seat and enjoy! If you'd rather not, or have seen it plenty of times before, feel free to skip ahead!

(Also, bad camera in the dark, so some of those are not the greatest in the history of parade pictures, but c'est la vie!)

I love the skaters part of this parade. They all look so good! It would honestly freak me out to wear those skates over the trolley tracks, I'd be so worried to get stuck in there. It was tricky enough as it was to maneuvre Amber's wheelchair in October!

Donald and Daisy, looking all cosy!

Now, I generally like people alive over anything otherwise, but I will admit these guys look a bit cooler during the Halloween party :P

Bad lighting, but I just had to get Belle in her Christmas dress!

That's right Aladdin, get in the Christmas spirit!

210_zps4073e1d1.jpg

Next next time we go (not in May but whenever next after that is), I'm making it a priority to meet Fairy Godmother. If I had to pick one character to be at the parks, I'm fairly sure I would pick her!

212_zpscd69f596.jpg

I wish they'd give out candy canes during this parade while Goofy's Candy Co float goes by! After all, they do give suckers during the Halloween parade! But then I guess he closes off the Halloween parade, and he's in the middle of the Christmas one, so the logistics wouldn't work as well. And I don't mean the giant candy canes, just regular ones of course!

The warmth though. I still remember how warm it was in Winnie the Pooh and how great it felt. It just made me feel all happy and it was such a good decision.

I never regret time spent on Winnie the Pooh. NEVER ;)

For the warmth, it definitely was a good decision :P

But I will still, in the future, pick a virtually empty line to meet the seven dwarves who come out once in a blue moon over riding a ride I can ride every day I'm there :P

November 15: Part 9 - "I have a theory that Snow White's a vampire"

Let's get this parade finished up!

As Amber will tell you, those soldiers are awesome, but also creepy.

Reindeer! I love those reindeer! And you know what's coming next!

Santa Claus himself! Looking jolly, as one Mr Claus might

231_zpsbcf9a1f4.jpg

And thus conclude the Christmas parade!

Now, at that point, there was still a bit of time before the fireworks, so we didn't rush ourselves too much on the way there - if you'll remember, we were all the way back in Frontierland, so we had to walk over to Main Street to get a good view!

We never made it there. On the way, we saw Captain Jack Sparrow out to meet, and so of course Amber wanted to meet him! I'd never seen the whole of the Pirates movie at that time, only the first one and it hadn't interested me all that much, so to me it wasn't a necessity, but figuring we had time, I obliged.

Except as we got in line, he left to go on break. And you know how Captain Sparrow loves his rum - he wasn't gone for ten or twenty minutes, like most characters are when they go on break.

He was gone for forty five minutes!

ARGH!

And we waited for him. Which makes us... I'm not sure what, but probably more desperate to meet a pirate than anything else!

To be honest, had I known he'd be gone that long, I would have left the line and just come back to it later - or not at all, it wouldn't have broken my heart.

But the longer we waited, the more annoyed I got - and ultimately, the more determined to stay I was! I may have a contrary mind, but I'd rather keep on waiting than be told I've just wasted half an hour waiting in a line!

We did end up chatting with some of the people in line with us, which were pretty nice and fun. We joked about how long it was taking, and joked about the horrible view we got of the fireworks once the show started. Because yes - when Holiday Wishes started, we were still stuck in line. And to make it better, there was a tree in the way!

FINALLY, Jack came back out. And I'll admit to this - although I can't say I would wait that long again, especially if it means missing the fireworks, to meet him, he was one of the best characters we've met to date.

232_zpsff33247b.jpg

His voice was spot on. His mannerism was awesome. He really was the character as anyone could be, and he was hilarious.

He noticed one of my pins, which features the Princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Ariel and Jasmine) and he went on a rant about each and every one of them, and why none of them were trustworthy, including gems such as "That's not even Cinderella's castle!" or "I have a theory that Snow White is a vampire".

233_zps75f9c0a5.jpg

He was a great character to meet, which lifted my mood greatly as we bid him goodbye and went on our way to attempt and catch the last few minutes of the fireworks.

In the end, we didn't. We tried to get on the Magic Carpets to catch the last few glimpses of it, as one might do with Dumbo, but by that time it was too late. We still ended up riding the carpets, figuring we might as well!

And then we headed on our way back toward Main Street.

234_zps6e0e97bc.jpg

Oh, lit up Castle. You are beautiful and I miss you.

236_zps8ca94dc1.jpg

We watched the show on the castle stage for a few minutes, but at that point I wanted to get some warmth more than anything else. I was getting progressively colder and colder, to the point where Amber even gave me permission to buy a sweatshirt if need be.

I resisted for the most part though, because I didn't want to spend that much money on something I wouldn't wear much (I'm not much of a sweatshirt wearer), but we still ended up going through the shops at some point to look for one because I was freezing.

238_zps193e1d6a.jpg

239_zps3450d315.jpg

I didn't end up getting anything, because I couldn't find anything I liked, so we just moved on to our next ordeal of the evening!

Now, we had met the princesses that very morning, but during party nights, there's some special guests we had not gotten to meet yet.

The princes!

The wait time was very short, and we soon realized that the only reason it actually even took some time to meet them was because they were taking groups pretty much just one at a time, making it a one on one encounter (or well, two on two?)

First up were Rapunzel and Flynn!

240_zpscc0bf941.jpg

Rapunzel was just as excitable as she had been in the morning, and she and Flynn were great together! They were kidding around a lot with Aurora and Prince Philip to, who were right next to them, and it's always awesome to watch face characters interact with one another!

Amber did ask Flynn what was in his satchel too, and he leaned closer to stage whisper "I'll show you, but don't tell these guys about it", nodding toward Aurora and Philip, to which Philip called back "We have names, Flynn!"

After getting a glimpse at the lost princess' tiara, we moved out to meet the next couple!

241_zps0a1481b7.jpg

As you can tell, there was nobody behind us at this time because Rapunzel and Flynn were having some free time to just play around!

242_zps3fa4f363.jpg

Finally, we walked up to Snow White and Prince Charming. Snow was precious as always, the Prince a bit more quiet, but they were both really nice as well. Overall, it really had been a great day for character interaction!

243_zpse791e433.jpg

I have a lack of pictures to show through what we did during the evening, but I think we may have ridden more rides somewhere in between the missed fireworks and meeting the princesses (and some cookie eating and hot chocolate drinking, too!), because at that point, it was getting pretty close to midnight, and we were getting tired!

We did make it a point to meet one last couple though!

244_zpsd1529335.jpg

Can you guess?

245_zpsb9a87c83.jpg

Mickey and Minnie! Don't they look super adorable in that outfit? I do think I still prefer their Animal Kingdom winter gear, but they look very fab in this suit and dress as well! You can tell they were all dressed up to receive guests at their Christmas party!

Once we left the big Mouse and his lady, we decided to call it a night. The party was drawing to an end, and it was just getting colder and colder anyhow, so we left the park and headed to the buses waiting area. It didn't take too long for a French Quarter bus to come along, and soon we were on our way back to the hotel.

Haha, ok, the Aunt/Uncle/Piglet photo cracks me up. It looks like there's a whole row of people on the left trying not to get in the photo. But it literally looks like a line. I don't know, it's comical to me.

I'm surprisingly ok with the construction. Well not so much the construction itself, but the end product I am in support of. I think the extra space and functionality will be worth it. I've already resigned myself to the fact that Disneyland has the more "Park Like" hub. And I will truly miss the things that are/will be gone. But I'm willing to deal to have a bit less chaos. Of course it remains to be seen if that actually happens.

Oh I love playing in the HM interactive queue. Makes me not want a FP. Seriously so much fun.

I know its old news now, but seeing NFL for the first time is still a wonderful experience. Plus by that point, so relatively few people had seen it making it even better. Thankfully, I was one who had. :p

Hmm, that's odd about having to come back in to get your wristband. I've never heard that before. But free party equals awesome!!

Haha, they changed the Ariel Disneyland hair. I'm guessing you're referring to the Ice Cream Hair. Now they both look the same.

Pinocchios' Village Haus = Chicken Nuggets. No need to worry about the other menu items. ;)

AHHH I was so bummed the Stepsisters weren't with them this year. What an awesome photo op.

No worries, I LOVE the parade and your photos are great. And yes, the soldiers are the best part.

"I have a theory that Snow White is a vampire". :rotfl2: That may be the best line I've ever heard!!!

Maybe that's why Piglet tried to skip us, he thought there was a line to meet him and clearly we weren't in the line :P

It is gonna be more functional and the space in that area is much needed, because traffic jam around the hub (especially by Casey's Corner) is ridiculous. It's just sad that it means getting rid of some of the beautiful scenery that gives a different edge to Disney parks when compared to other amusement parks. That, and the ducks! Where will the ducks go?!

Disney does have that skill with interactive queues! Makes it much more fun to wait - sometimes people will even let others go ahead of them while they take pictures, especially of the busts at the entrance of the cemetery

There really were virtually no people so it was awesome!

I don't really know where we had seen that, I do think it was on the paper tickets we had printed that it mentioned having to get wristbands at the entrance of the park, but it didn't mention guest services or anything, so we just assumed it was when entering the park? I don't even know anymore XD

Yes, the ice cream hair! Good thing they changed it at Disneyland too then. But the new hair still looks weird from the side XD

Well, we didn't want to get too many chicken nuggets, so we tried to vary it up some :P And seeing as that's practically a staple meal at just any QS location, PVH isn't necessarily my first pick to eat at anyhow.

The stepsisters are always the awesomest to meet, but it was really cool to have the whole group out there meeting!

Yay for parades! I do love the Christmas parade, and the music.

Captain Jack Sparrow was gold for his commentaries. He had something for every single princess, but his rant about Snow White was the best

Marie is too nice to me, cause I'll be honest I can be such a jerk when I'm tired. I just get grumpy (to the extreme) when I'm tired. The worst is when I'm tired and hungry, but still. After that night I felt pretty bad the next day because I knew I'd been a jerk. Still, in the interest of better understanding what was going on, I'll tell you how I'd have written it.

So without further statement, here is:

November 11 - Part 6.5: Why Amber Acted Like a Jerk

By the time the fireworks were over, I was actually ready to leave. We'd gotten up early, we hadn't slept much the night before and we had spent time traveling. Traveling always makes me tired (partly because of my motion sickness medicine) and if I hadn't been so excited for Disney, I'd have crashed much sooner. After the fireworks seemed like the perfect time to leave to me, since people would still be waiting around for the parade.

However, other people wanted to go check out the Christmas shop and I was trying to be supportive and not a jerk. Tiana was meeting people with Naveen though and I wanted to hop in line, it'd have been our first princess meet of the trip and she'd have her prince with her! Unfortunately, she was going on break and wouldn't be back for 20 minutes. Now here's where I look like a jerk. Yes, I'd wait 20 minutes for Tiana and Naveen but not 20 minutes for the parade. Meeting Tiana would be meeting a princess and a prince and it was quiet over there, with places to sit down and just relax. Plus, after we were done we could leave while the parade was going on and miss the crowds!

That wasn't exactly what everyone else was thinking though and so we just decided to leave after the shop. Except, Marie was hungry. This made me more annoyed because we were supposed to leave and now we were stopping in the bakery? Ugh. I was the opposite of hungry, I was so not hungry that even the thought of food was bad. There were too many people around, the line was too long and the shop smelled so sweet I was getting a headache. I just wanted to be gone and I was telling people as much. After all, we'd agreed to leave.

Sidenote: In the back of my mind I was worried about the impression I was making on Marie's aunt and uncle. They'd never spent much time with us when I'd been so vocal (not speaking French leaves me quiet during family events) and this was probably the first time they'd have a chance to get an impression of who I really was and who their niece had married. I was kinda failing at that, but hopefully they'd forgive me later.

After leaving the bakery empty handed, Marie saw a spot for the parade. My logic was still in the 'we can see the parade another night, but let's beat the crowds leaving tonight'. However, I was outnumbered. Marie wanted to see the parade, her aunt and uncle were interested. I gave in because I was outnumbered, but I was super annoyed with Marie. They'd said we'd be leaving! We were supposed to be heading back to POFQ! Now we were watching a parade!

To be honest, the only thing I remember about the parade is the music and being annoyed with Marie. That's it. I know, I kinda ruined it for myself, but even if I hadn't been annoyed, I was so tired that my mind just didn't focus on it well at all.

When we finally left I could have sung praises. All I remember from that point on is the relief that sleep was near and nothing else. I couldn't tell you what conversations took place, where we sat on the bus, or even how quickly we walked to the room. I do know I was asleep pretty quick and happy to be so.

So there you have it, the explanation as to why I was being so difficult. I know it doesn't paint me in the best light, but it's the truth. At least nothing like that happened again during the trip and I was a happy camper. Yay Disney!

Now this is the review thread I remember reading and this particular post. I think I remember it on my trip too! Also I think before the trip, I worried I would do the same thing. And I did have a similar experience! We were out all day, but we planned to do EMH PM at MK. Before the first electrical parade my DH asked if we'd be leaving after that. We discussed doing rides later so I was like, "How dare he want to leave early! He knew the plan" We planned to do AM EMH at AK the next day, but decided we could go a bit later since we'd be there all day and we were there for 1/2 a day earlier in the trip. So I made some snide comment like, "So you don't want to do AK EMH and now you want to take away EMH here too!! So much for taking advantage of them!" Right before the parade I apologized for exploding and said I just wanted to do a final walk around the park and we could leave. He said that was fine and he was tired, also we did so much in MK already during our vacation. But luckily we got a second wind after the parade and we did a few more attractions. Splash Mountain during Wishes!

We often don't end up sticking to a lot of our late stay plans - at least, we haven't so far, but maybe some time we will!

But yeah, sometimes it's a bit tricky to plan in advance what you'll want to do and then realize when it comes around that you just don't feel it. In theory, staying late at the Magic Kingdom on a first park day sounds great! In practice, doing so after having woken up before dawn to catch a flight that same morning doesn't work so well.

Thankfully none of the drama ended up sticking too much ;) thankfully for you as well! And Splash Mountain during Wishes sounds awesome! We want to try and do BTM during Wishes some time. Maybe in September!

November 16: Part 1 - "How many bus stops do these guys have?!"

The next morning, we woke up early and got ourselves ready to go for our second to last park day!

Wait, that's not exciting.

It's depressing

*Gross sobbing*

It's okay, we got over ourselves

Amber took a quick shower while I got dressed and took the time to blowdry and straighten her hair, again to give proof that it can look good before the Florida humidity hits it

001_zpsdc292c15.jpg

We then met up with my Aunt and Uncle and went on our way to take the bus to Epcot! Yay!

Usually a short ride, this one turned out to be the longest one of the trip.

Why?

Because it was literally just the four of us, plus two more guests, in the bus after being picked up from the French Quarter.

So the bus driver headed off to Riverside - and hit every. Single. Bus depot.

If you've never been to Riverside, only know this - IT'S A BIG RESORT.

It did teach me a lesson - rent car if we ever stay at Riverside. Bus bad. Car good.

Moving on.

After checking up every bus stop through the whole property (and picking up no stray, by the way), we were finally on our way over to Epcot!

We got there not too long after opening and got ourselves a picture in front of Spaceship Earth, like the good kids do

002_zpsc81e00cb.jpg

003_zps2f0fad91.jpg

The most photogenic golf ball in all of Florida, everyone!

(I've taken to calling it the golf ball, just because it's funny - and I'm sorry, no matter how beautiful I think it is, that's what it looks like. Amber does not appreciate it)

We snapped a quick picture of our friend Stitch on the way

004_zps202984cf.jpg

And then headed in for a closer look!

005_zps03c4cfb7.jpg

Now, that's the kind of line I like - hardly any line at all!

006_zps30e39a76.jpg

We definitely appreciated our experience on Spaceship Earth. There were times when we did these kind of rides, the more informative ones, with our friends that I was worried they would be bored and wouldn't appreciate it to the level Amber and I do. There were no complaints though, so I guess it can't have been too bad!

007_zpsb60061cd.jpg

008_zpsf9e1ce68.jpg

Someday, we should try and do this ride with a completely different language selection. September goal!

009_zps511be72e.jpg

010_zpsda9e048c.jpg

Look, we're by North America! Hi us!

011_zpsb1135d6c.jpg

Sending out video postcards, cause that's how you gotta do it

012_zpsb001b33b.jpg

I'm pretty sure I still have it in my email, too. I wonder if it still works

At that point, we split up from my Aunt and Uncle as they headed back outside and we took a bit of time to explore the other activities to do inside Spaceship Earth

013_zps76447f5a.jpg

Once we were done trying to figure out ways to use energy efficiently and all that good stuff, we headed off over to The Land for a very important ordeal

014_zps8ba6e72a.jpg

We had to get Soarin' FastPasses!

Looking at these, I'm realizing how the popularity of Toy Story Midway Mania is even more crazy. Had we waited as late to get TSMM FastPasses as we did to get those Soarin' ones, they would either have been gone already, or only available for the very end of the day!

With our early afternoon plans taken care of, we headed out of the Land and decided to get ourselves an early lunch (read: Amber was hungry cause she doesn't eat breakfast).

015_zps1693ab11.jpg

Electric Umbrella!

016_zps3240742f.jpg

It was a delicious decision. It's probably a bit underrated, because why eat there in Epcot when you can just go and eat around the world, but we still enjoyed it, although it was pretty basic

018_zpsfe3ced54.jpg

I got the chicken nuggets and fries, with strawberry cheesecake (nooom) and pomegranate lemonade (I miss it so much)

And Amber got the nuggets and fries as well, with chocolate chip cookies and a Sprite

019_zps3eb2e2d6.jpg

Our bellies full of good food, we headed over to our next destination in Future World, passing by the fountain on the way and taking an obligatory picture

020_zpsc0f9ab5f.jpg

Innoventions! (West or East, I have no idea)

021_zps3f7234c4.jpg

What did we do in there? Where's The Fire!

022_zps4af5e340.jpg

Those little games and activities inside the Innoventions buildings are so clever, yet I don't feel many people really know of them! This was an interactive game. The people playing are divided in two families, the Searchwells and the Findmores (the latter which was ours). Everyone gets a big flashlight kind of thing, and the point of the game is to go around the different rooms of the house and find fire hazards - for example, a heating curling iron laying on a magazine in the bathroom.

You then generally team up in groups of two or three, and head off to your first room of the house - the game itself lasts about five minutes. In order to 'solve' the hazards, all team members have to point at it with their 'safety light' at the same time for a certain amount of seconds. After a while, you're told to move on to the next room.

It's really a cute, fun activity to do, and a good way to teach kids about fire safety. Plus, the girl in charge of our game was really great!

Once the game was over, we went back over to the starting point for the scores, and it went a little like this.

Girl CM: Alright, good job guys! And now, with 182,000 points, we have the Searchwells! Searchwells, congratulate the Findmores for a good game played.

*congratulations and clapping*

Girl CM: Awesome! Now Findmores, tell the Searchwells "That's a really good second place score!"

Cue cracking up and cheers. It was hilarious.

With the game completed, we decided to move on from Innoventions, though we did get a couple of firetruck pictures first.

Oh my goodness. I'm in pain looking at my selfie. Look at how I used to look. Look at my neck, it's all smooth and there's no scars anywhere. And my hair. Look at my hair. I mean, I don't even think I was ever like pretty then, but I just... goodness. Anyone who is following all three of the TRs right now is going to look at me from one to another and be like, "... woah."

And please stop calling it a golf ball. YOU KNOW I LOVE SPACESHIP EARTH *sobbing*

Also, that coat with that shirt is a bad idea. I think that everytime I see it. Why would I wear a shirt longer than my coat. Silly me.
