Okay, this might sound like an odd question, but here goes anyway....

Where can you find warm weather clothing (shorts, capris, swimsuits, etc.) for a toddler during the winter? Besides the discount racks at stores, which have almost nothing good left, I can't find anything.

I've never worried about this before, but now I have a one-year old and we're going to Disney in mid-February. She just hit a growth spurt, so none of her summer clothes will fit.

I would love to pick up a few new things online, but I'm not finding anything. Where do all of you warmer climate folks shop (or do you just plan ahead much better than me)?
Thanks in advance for any help!!

eBay! Seriously, bathing suits are flying out of my eBay stores and I'm thinking of listing all my son's Gymboree sets that he outgrew last summer. Considering it is summer somewhere in the world all the time, I'd check there to see what you can find. Be sure to search eBay stores, not just the auctions! Good luck :)

I would also check Land's End Overstocks - I often pick up great, off-season deals for dd3 there. Plus, I just love their quality and you can now return anything to Sears if you keep the packing slip so that makes for very easy returns.

I was at two different target stores today and they already had spring and summer clothes out for the girls! Of course that's here in Las Vegas, not sure if it would be the same by you, buit you could try. Good luck!

Try J.C.Penney's and then look for a coupon online. I have had great luck with them over the years and their stuff is really durable. I have also had good luck with Boscov's.

your are going in february. the stores here in indianapolis put spring clothing out in january after the holidays. we found swim suits then for our trip last january.

Every year is different but this past Feb. we wore pants and light jackets every day and gloves at night! We were still wearing light pants in March quite a few days. I wouldn't worry too much about shorts!

I wouldn't invest too much, she'll have outgrown the new stuff again come summer.

Is there a Once Upon a Child store in your area? [ www.ouac.com ] If so, they should have plenty of what you need, even sandals. Other kids resale shops will, too, but I always like OUAC, as they tend to have decent stuff that is well-organized in the stores.

I did see spring stuff at the Carter's outlet store when I was there over Veterans' Day. My SIL bouht my niece's Easter stuff even tho she doesn't know what her size will be then. They have a great return policy. Just keep your reciept and you can return it any time.

ETA: I wouldn't worry too much about being too warm in February. I would think it would be pretty cool then still.

When we went in early February a couple of years ago, we wore pants and short sleeved shirts with occasional jackets or sweatshirts. It was not warm enough for us to swim then. We didn't really need "summer" clothes.

Is there anybody you know with a DD a little older than yours? That's my best source for clothes- good old hand-me-downs!
