I finally decided where I want to get married since Dis was out of the question, my local Aquarium! Then I realized this morning now I can add a "splash" (pun completely intended, lol) of disney by bringing in a few Nemo touches. Specifically I have no idea what I should do, so anybody have any suggestions? Also anyone know of any place that sells nemo stuff I could turn into something wedding appropriate?

Thanks in advance! :fish:

wow! a aquarium is an AWESOME place to get married! :thumbsup2 so cool...

I don't know about the nemo stuff (but such a great idea! - or little mermaid too), but I had to tell you what a great, different, idea you had! :thumbsup2

Just a thought but you could get those Giant glass fish bowls and use them as your centre pieces. Go to the local toy store and get the Nemo figures and put them in the fish bowl to float around in the water. It would create great effect if you have cool flowers in there already. It would be subtle but still using NEMO. You could also invest or rent a bubble machine to be on through out to create the under the sea feeling. I hope it helps a little! Good luck and I am sure you will have a great time.

Congratulations! I think an aquarium is a great idea and love your Nemo theme.

As for where to find Nemo items - I vote for Ebay - there are lots of different things on there. You could get the Nemo picture frames for your table card holders, or you could name the tables after different Nemo characters and get the plush dolls to work into your centerpieces.

What a great idea! One of my friends got married at an aquarium and it was so much fun! I think the Nemo theme is so creative! If you don't mind me asking, what aquarium are you getting married at? I saw you were from NJ and I am too :)

how about a nemo inspired cake and characters as table names? Guess that's obvious, huh! lol

I really like Belle1981's centerpiece and bubble machine ideas too! Depending on the room you will have your wedding in, you can drape tulle or organza to make it even more "watery" (amongst the fishies!), candles...

You might be able to make/get stylized nemo characters so they're not so "cartoony"...

hmm...the wheels are spinning...

My senior year in HS I was on prom committee. We did "A walk in the park" theme... with park benches, etc. But as for our tables, we did a water-like theme (as if we were walking by ponds). We used white table clothes, in the middle we used that really shiny metalic blue paper (I cant for the life of me remember what they call it but it is really reflective -its actually used in some of the rides at WDW as a water). Anyways, we put that in the middle of the table, then we bought a fish bowl for every table and put a single beta fish in there (when you purchase in bulk from a local pet store, they discount them really cheap). When the lights were dim.... the shiny paper looked like water and the fish were a big hit. We let people take the fish home in their bowls once everything was over, somewhat as a keepsake. I know my senior prom wont help you much... but GL!

Love the aquarium/Nemo theme! :woohoo:
disneyshopping.com has the 16" nemo plush on sale for $5.99 (you can also use a few other coupons to bring the price down). Would maybe be cute at the cake or head table. They also had some ornaments and such!

I was watching a Martha Stewart destination wedding tv special today and they did a great beach/fish theme. I would go to her website to see if they had pics. They did very elegant centerpices with shells, sea sponges, and star fish.

Juat have fun with it!

Oo thanks for the ideas everyone, I especially love the bubble machine idea! I'm off to search ebay right now.

JJClemson we're going for the Adventure Aquarium (new name of Camden Aquarium). If you havn't veen there since they re-did it you have to go. Its fantastic now.

Also heres a photo gallery from their website of other weddings. http://www.adventureaquarium.com/index.cfm?sectionID=8,155,0,0 Everything looks so amazing. My 1 year and 11months better go fast!

Those photos are awesome. I can certainly see that some people have shelled out the big bucks for an aquarium weddings there. Very nice.... :goodvibes
