Finding information on flight status

Hi, my friend left for Kona, Hawaii today and I was tracking her flight and it showed that it was diverted and turned back to Phoenix after 3 hrs in flight. I'm concerned and I called the airlines and they are pleading dumb!! How do I find out more info? Any guesses. Thanks.

Was it USAirways? If so, they were not just pleading dumb, they are. Their systems have been in chaos for about a month.
