Finding Fin (No Host Prize) Disappointing Month

It's a Teleport Host Room. Do we get a Prize if we find her? Or do we just get a place to "hang out" and take Pics.?

It's just a place to hang out and take pics. I guess there will be no host pin this month but there will be host events with quests where you can win prizes that way. I'm so disappointed that there is not a new host pin. I wonder why?

This Month is turning out to be not so great. When I heard that it was Nemo month I got excited. Now... It's not as exciting.

Also Wondering when Fun Days will come.

Well, I guess some good comes from the sit down and chat with Hosts. We now have time to ask this stuff.

Okay, it has to be said, and I am notorious for being the 1 who says it, so, here it goes....

I am a pin guru if there ever was one. I credit Disvaclub and Daffypluto for my pin addiction, alas, they were my early vmk mentors and as I learned just how right they were I took their pin tips full scale.

HOWEVER -
- How many times have you been in a host room and seen "HOST_ __________, can I take a picture with you plz?"? I have seen it many many many times.

- Have you ever had a question for a Host but known that you can't back the line up during a game to ask it because it's just not right due to the others in line?
(or wished ppl would NOT ask questions so you could get in that room!!! )

I enjoy the host prizes. Whether they are pins or candy cauldrons (never did manage to win 1 of those!) or garage sales just as much as the next person. Maybe even more!

However, if there is no host prize, does that make the month a loss? NO! Of course not! It's still vmk. It's still friends, fun, trading, building, whatever makes it enjoyable for you.

So... there's no host pin. No one is getting something I can't get, there's no prize for anyone. Does there always have to be a prize or can it just be for the fun of it? If you don't want to visit with hosts, then you don't have to go in the rooms, you get a break from the long wait, and the frustrations of crashing while only 2 people to go until you enter the room a break for a month. What a wonderful gift.

There's no host prize this month. Bummer. One less trading item for those who are lucky enough to get pins early. But how cool are those churro carts??? Thanks VMK for the cool goodies, and giving me back my 5:30pm - 8:30pm time slot with my family for the month. (or to the pirate dock without fear of losing that coveted spot due to a crash)

I really don't go into any HOST game except the teleporter ones, and I haven't seen to many this month. That may keep me out of all HOST events this month!

I'm really disappointed...

In the players, not the Hosts. Really.

I'm sad that everyone who posted here (with the exception of Jegrezo) feels
that sort of entitlement about the host prizes that they can't kick back and
enjoy dealing with the hosts without the greedy "gimme my prize" mentality.

I think the prizes have conditioned everyone into becoming Pavlovian dogs.
Instead of a bell ringing and drooling, it's "host room! gotta get my pin!"

And anyone who knows me know that I'm a HUGE pin collector/completist.
If I can admit that we don't need a host pin and still have fun, I think others
should be able to follow suit.

Let's not forget that VMK used to have a lot of meet and greet host rooms.
I remember last year, during the first "pirate month", I was able to stay
connected (and with Hula's permission) try to see how long I could stay
connected without crashing. (This was before VMK fixed that lovely dc bug!)

So instead of all the grumbling about the lack of a host pin this month, can't
we say how cool it was that we now have the seagull post, the buoy that
we haven't seen before, the beach ball palm chairs, and those churro carts?

I'm sorry if I sound harsh in my post, but from my perspective, most of you
seem to be looking at the small picture.

I'm enjoying the "month off" from worrying about getting into host games. BriarRosie is right. Hosts are usually bombarded with questions and pic requests during a game. I think it's cool that guests get a month long chance to "hang out" with the Host.

I'm with Disney Dreams, BriarRosie, & JulyGirl. I don't get the "so disappointed" mentality - There are some neat releases this month with the buoy and churro cart and birt post. Nifty stuff if you ask me! I love that the buoy flashes a green light. I love green.

I think it's strange that we finish the Nemo Pin set via a outside Nemo game that gives us an unfinished Nemo Sub that we have to finish by going to DLR. Confounding to be sure. Disappointing? Eh... VMK is as VMK does.



Personally I'm glad I don't have to hunt down a host pin to complete my set.

Agreed. I think i like this better because you dont really need to scramble to get in line for a host event when they'res no prize. Besides, i never get the host pin anyway. I think its a waste of time. I Mean seriously, after a while the pin gets boring and worthless. Then i just go trade for it.

And i really like the cool furniture. The Churro Cart, the buoy, I just cant wait to see if they'res a new guest room!!

While I'm one that enjoys the host pin and will try to get at least 2, its not really a big deal if there is or isn't one. BUT I do not believe that doing the month like this is not going to stop those begging for a pic or asking questions in future Host games. There will always be those that will over and over again even if they did it and always be questions to ask. JMO

I would just liked to have seen more things to do. If they were going to have a month about taking Pics with the Hosts then I wish they would have done the Fun Days this month also, for all those who don't really need to take pics with the Hosts.

I can understand that players have been asking for Pics with the Hosts, but there are plenty of players that don't get into the Rooms this month and will be asking in later months for Pics in other Host Rooms.

Yes we are getting great new Items this year, I was just expecting more to do this month. I'm Disappointed that they haven't put in Fun Days.

If you went into your work and your boss said, "oh, no paychecks this month, we thought it would be fun just to give you a PICTURE of your check" Would you still go to work???
Since the start of VMK there has been a host pin/prize now all of a sudden there is not one and we aren't supposed to be dissapointed or suprised??
Not to mention the fact that Yavn has been virtually kidnapped or something, the newsletter has not been updated in 2 weeks there has been no further mention of "Fundays" and we are already into the 2nd week of July.
Spoiled/selfish?? YES but VMK made us that way! When you come to expect something week after week month after month and then all of a sudden everything stops all at once it is kind of a shock.
Makes you wonder, the closing of VMK in DLR and now the decline of the game itself...what is the future of VMK???
