Finding fake flight number issue

We are arriving around midnight and don't want to take the kids on a long bus ride after that so we are staying at the Hyatt on site at MCO. I read here that the Hyatt will take our luggage with our yellow DME tags and get those on a bus for us. The problem I am having is we want to leave around 7:15 am to make it to rope drop that morning. I can only find flights getting in at 6:09 and then 8:30. If no flights are getting in around 7 will a bus even be there? Will we have to wait a long time for more people?

Is there an easier way to find a flight arriving at 7?

Call the toll-free DME number to make your reservation. Tell them you'll be staying at the Hyatt xx/xx and will want to leave for Disney on yy/xx (i.e. your reservation date) at 7:15 AM. Please note that doesn't mean the bus on which you're placed will actually pull out of the airport at that time. You may arrive between your-resort-bound buses; you may board just as a bus arrives and starts loading... You may also not be the first resort dropped off; you don't say where you're staying but you'll still have to get from there to your park of choice by rope drop. You could skip resort check-in until later in the day, but that won't work if you need your tickets.

Using the 6am flight will be fine. The buses run 24/7 and there is nothing wrong with "stopping for breakfast" after you 6am arrival before catching a bus at 7:15am ;)

The cm I spoke to insisted I have a flight number/time. Is she not correct? Also I don't mind waiting 15-30 minutes for the bus but I don't want to be waiting an hour. We do need to check in at the resort to get our tickets.

Did you call the 866 number (I don't know the entire number, but it's pretty easy to find in the "luggage tags" or "participating airline" sticky at the top of this forum)? Or did you call the 407 WDISNEY number? The CMs at the first number - the direct line to Magical Express reservations - are MUCH more knowledgeable about the entire procedure.

CM's don't know all the rules. You can keep trying until you get one who does, or just fake it.

Anyway, a fun site for flight geeks is www.flightstats.com . For tomorrow, it shows:

Flight B6 768 due in at 6:20 and then nothing until
Flight B6 750 due in at 7:58

Both are Jet Blue flights from Puerto Rico. That shouldn't cause any ME issues, but just to be safe, I'd pick NW9118 due in at 6:12

DME services airline passengers. Your observation is correct, there aren't very many flights before 8a.

Go to the MCO website. You can ask for arriving flights between specific times.

Either cancel your Hyatt reservation and stay at WDW or take a taxi/car service.

You can't expect DME to run a bus just for you. DME is entitled to wait for the first flights to arrive.

I don't expect a bus to be run for me, that is why I am asking what the normal procedure is. If we need to get there closer to 6:30 b/c of the earlier arriving flights or a little later we will. You don't know if you don't ask. There are flights that get in before 7 am so your point of DME waiting for the first flights to arrive is incorrect.

I am also assuming you don't have young children because no one with young children would suggest getting on a long bus ride at midnight with little ones and the taxi service is out b/c we will not be travelling with car seats.

And I have been to the MCO website as well as orbitz looking for arrival times.

Very unhelpful at best.

I gave you a link that I got from the MCO website. Click on the arrival tab, scroll down and specify the range of arriving times you want to display. HOW MUCH MORE HELP DO YOU EXCPECT?

I gave you some alternatives in case you can't find a flight that works for you. You can book a car service that will supply seats. Waking up your kids early enough to catch a 6:30 DME bus doesn't sound like fun. I don't know your kids, I don't know which is worse, taking a DME bus at midnight or waking them up 5:45a. I'd skip the rope drop, but your family may not need to sleep.

DME monitors flights. I'm not sure what DME will do if the 6:20 flight is cancelled (or delayed) and you show up at 6:30.

I was looking for more btdt advice. Like I said I already had checked that website. Everyone else that responded was either helpful or at the very least kind.

Also, most of the car service companies serving the Orlando Airport will provide car seats at no extra charge. Just inquire before making a reservation.

Personally I would just take the car service and not worry about catching a bus at night or in the morning or having to deal with getting up early and moving to a new hotel in the morning (that cannot be very easy or fun with children). The driver will meet you at the bottom of the escalator in the baggage claim area and will be able to assist with luggage.

You are going to find that the buses that early are just not going to be as frequent as you need. You could give them a flight that is arriving at 6am, but you still may not get to your resort before 7:30 or 8...they just won't send a bus out with only a few people on it..why? Because they fully realize how many flights are actually arriving.
I also would recommend staying at a value resort the night before if you want to be at par rope drop. You will be able to have Disney move your bags to the resort you're moving to and you can get started on your vacation bright and early.
Or you could just take a cab, with your luggage, over to the 'real' resort early in the morning..get checked in and onto a bus to the park for rope drop.
I'm not at all sure I would stay at the Hyatt and try to get DME before 8am....they just aren't running at capacity that early.

Usually, those who find 'fake' flights, because they are arriving the night before, aren't trying to make rope drop the next day...that is what is going to put a crimp in your plan.

Yes you will need to check in at the resort to get your tickets.

I disagree - DME is for anyone with a WDW Resort reservation that needs transporation from the airport to the Resort and / or back. It doesn't matter how or when you arrive at MCO as long as you are a WDW Resort guest that day and make an advance reservation.

We have done what the OP is thinking of a few times and never had an issue. Most times the DME CM's will book your reservation without a flight number but some of them don't know how to do it. The CRO CM's don't seem to be able to do it without a flight - which IMHO is fine because 99% of folks using DME are arriving by air and immediately going to WDW.

OP - just call the DME folks and let them know your plans although if flights are few & far between when you check in you may be in for a wait. We have never tried to be at the parks for rope drop though esp since you have to check in at the resort first.

If you really want to make rope drop I would consider just taking DME the night before or spending @ $60 +/- for a towncar in the morning.

Good luck

If you go the route of spending $60 on a towncar you may as well stay at a value resort at WDW. By the time you spend $60 on a car and the money to stay at the Hyatt you could have stayed at a value resort for less. You would then be at Disney get your tickets when you check in and be ready to go to the park and can make rope drop in the morning.

Yea, I agree for the most part but the OP said she has young kids and I know how it feels to just want to crash after a day of travel with kids. Arriving after 10 they would have to get their own luggage and likely wait for a bus plus the 35 minute bus ride and then the wait for check in.

With a stay at the Hyatt the OP and kids can hit the room while DH fetches the luggage. So money may not be the issue here - and maybe she got a great rate at the Hyatt :)

OP - if you do want to consider the towncar/taxi route most will have at least one carseat. If you reserve a towncar in advance the towncar will have two or more carseats if you need them.

Your going to be rushed trying to make the rope drop. Most of the people who posted are giving the same advice I gave. Take DME the night before or take a car service.

I think you're saying the same thing I'm saying. You're allowed to take the bus but the buses are scheduled to accomodate incoming flights. Most people who stay at an airport hotel plan on taking a bus when the incoming flights start (9a).

You're giving the OP the same suggestion I gave, take DME the night before or book a car service.

Ok - semantics but I read your post to say airline passeners only - with which I disagreed.

I guess I didn't word it right. I meant DME buses are scheduled to accommodate guests with plane reservation. The OP is looking for a DME bus during a gap between flights.

Another poster was looking to spend part of the night at the airport. They were looking for a DME bus at least 2 hours after the time a bus would be scheduled for the last flight of the night.

Perhaps the more accurate terminology would be, "DME is designed for/caters to airline passengers". Sure, Magical Express would transport someone who got dropped off at the airport by a friend at 4 AM (as long as they have a Disney resort reservation starting that same day :teeth: ) - but they won't run a bus for that person. They'd likely need to wait until enough airline passengers arrived a bit later in the day. On the other hand, if a plane was delayed and arrived at 3 AM, Disney would likely transport those Guests as close as possible to when they check in at the Welcome Center.
