I know that you can ask Guest Services at the parks about which characters are signing, when, and where. Can the cms at guest services at your resort's front desk give you this info., too, or is it to be found only at the parks?

Can they give you info. about another park besides their own--pertaining to characters, I mean?

Can guest services at your resort upgrade your tickets or is that done only at the parks?

Thanks! princess:

Yes, the Guest Services at your resort, as well as the Guest Relations location (2 different entities with different job descriptions) at the parks can call and see if the characters you like will be scheduled for that day and at what parks you may find them and when. However, please understand that these characters are SCHEDULED to be there, not guaranteed. You never know when Buzz may have to go protect the universe from the Evil Emporor Zurg, Cinderella couldn't find her other shoe, or the Prince was late and Sleeping Beauty overslept. JUst keep those reasons in mind if you get to the scheduled place and the character that is scheduled to be there isn't there. Kids usually take it pretty well when the above reasons are given... they are very forgiving of the characters. It is usually the parents who aren't.

If your tickets are on a package attached to your room key they may only be upgraded at the resort. Other upgrades may be done at the resort, at Disney Vacation Planning booths or Guest Relations, unless you are upgrading to an Annual Pass, or the like... that has to be done by a Disney Vacation Planner (a ticket seller at the parks) or Guest Relations at the parks or Downtown Disney.

Hope all of the characters are where they are supposed to be while you are there! princess:

I use the Front Desk at my resort sometimes for my character-hunting, but I actually find them sort of useless unless you are looking for popular characters in predictable locations. Be aware that Guest Services don't get their information about characters until well after 9:00 am, and by then I am usually off to my first park already. I do prefer dealing with resort's Guest Services as opposed to park's Guest Services, since I find that many CM's (especially at Magic Kingdom's Guest Services) don't have English as their native language, and look very confused when I ask for Shang, Jane Porter, and Piper Pig! I find resort CM's more helpful, but they don't get their information early enough. :(

And yep, I have asked at Magic Kingdom's Guest Services to find Mulan, who was at another park (Epcot) that day. :)

Also, Guest Services CM's can only tell you information about specific characters. For instance, you can't ask them who will be meeting by the Castle that day. You can only ask for characters by name (Mickey, Cinderella, etc) and then they can tell you. I wish they could tell you what group of characters is at a location for the day, but sadly it doesn't work that way. :(

Well, besides all my naysaying, I hope Guest Services will be helpful and you find your favorite characters! :teeth:

I also had great luck just asking CMs in shops where I might find a particular character. They had a number to call and ask and in this way we managed to be right at the front of the line when Peter Pan showed up. (The MUST HAVE visit for my DS)

Thanks for all of the great information. I knew that I could count on all of you for the answers!
