Well I finally got the call...they were extremely nice and said that of course the first night would be $26.88 and subsequent nights would be the Florida Resident Rate...

I think we have decided to go ahead and go and just drop off the Saturday night stay since we will be heading up to Gainesville for the big game. And this way I won't have to cancel our Thanksgiving dining plans!

And I think we may change over to Pop Century...it would only be a $66 difference so maybe not....hmm....decisions decisions! :)

Hope everyone else has been squared away, I was beginning to feel like the last one out!

Glad to see it is working out for you. The way I look at it, we are all still ahead of the game. :goodvibes

exactly - we went ahead and kept CSR and just dropped Saturday night....now to tell my parents and the Outlawz that we will be away for Thanksgiving!!

Any suggestions??

BTW - the CM was SOOO nice...she was willing to look up any hotel...and made a point to say if I had any changes now...I need to call her direct (it was the Grand Gathering #) as anyone else may mess up the reservation.

lillygator I am glad you got the call and that Thanksgiving will work out for you after all.
I called Disney a week ago asking about the tax glitch and asking if Disney would honor it. I was told their attorneys were reviewing it and had not yet decided.
I finally got a call back this last Tuesday afternoon (after I knew what was being offered because I read the DISboards) from Dylan at Disney HQ
informing me that my stock was safe and the first night would be offered at the glitch rate but that Disney would charge the room rate on the contract
for the remainder nights. That was the contract that was agreed to.NOT the amount owed. I think you still got some great deals!
So don't be mad at Disney. Have a wonderful time on your "extra" vacation!

I have not yet gotten a call. Has everyone else gotten a call?
trust me, they will get to you ... not that you (nor I) want them to ...what are your dates? I know when I got the call, he was only calling for my Oct ressie. I went ahead & told him about the Nov & Dec so he could save himself the trouble (and me) later.

October 5 - 9. When I called about it earlier, they said they were going to honor the rate, but of course I did not get a name.

If you haven't gotten a call yet, they may have overlooked it... I would keep my fingers crossed if I were you ;)

Has everyone heard from CRO about them changing the reservations? Is it CRO that calls you? Maybe TallyLassie could check her reservation online and see if it has been changed without her knowing. Can Disney simply charge you all the reg. Fl. rates for your stay, except for the one day that everyone seems to be getting to keep at the reduced rate, and -- can they do this without notifying you? Her trip is coming up soon - in like 22 days. What would happen if you arrive at the resort after not hearing from them, and are then surprised to find out how much you really owe? That would be terrible.

Disney should send a certified letter. I am shocked, from a PR side, that they decided not to honor these rates. I know, the moral issues some have over taking advantage of others mistakes, but last summer I recall Holiday Inn had some wierd online errors that gave out rooms for like a dollar a night. They honored that mistake for everyone. That made them look good in the public's eye. A mistake is a mistake, whether or not it involved the adding or subtracting of tax or the adding or subtracting of rates, because it is still a total rate mistake.

The not knowing would worry me too much not to call and ask before I left.

Yes,she should call. Perhaps she entered the wrong phone # on her resevation.
When I spoke to Dylan P******* from Disney HQ he said only the first night would be honored. He said if someone who booked at the Fl. tax glitch rate arrives they will still only offer the first night and will pay the regular Fl.rate the room was indicated on the contract before the taxes were subtracted) for the remainder nights.

Here is an example of the tax glitch contract:
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort $80.16†

Arriving on 12/25/05 for 8 nights
3 Adults, 1 Child

Room Type: Water View Room
Special Rate Type: Florida Resident Room Only Offer
Park Ticket: None
Package Type: Room Only
Special Requests: Non-Smoking Room, Refrigerator

Edited to add: I just tried it again and it is still coming up for me.. it even took my deposit and gave me a confirmation number. Below is what I cut and pasted from my confirmation page:

Payment Information
Room Total $1,032.00
Per Night Price $129.00
Tax -$951.84
Grand Total $80.16

The total agreed to is $1,032.00
at $129.00 per night
NOT the grand total of $86.16

They told me the samething too... anyone showing up will be charged the regular FL rate except for the first night.

I have tried to call WDW reservations and they cannot tell me how much I owe. They said when you book on line, all they see is the room rate. My online reservation still shows the "glitch" balance.

Does anyone have a different number that I can call? A name would be great. You can PM him me.

Our reservation is for next week. We are going either way, but I don't want to have to deal with this when I get there.
