Finally...Finally....FINALLY got my closing papers yesterday :cheer2:
Man this has felt like the longest journey E V E R ....lol.

Went to ROFR on 6/16, passed on 7/15, rec'd closing docs on 7/29 signed and overnighted TODAY can you tell I'm inpatient :rotfl:

I sure hope the sellers sign and get them back quickly. They live in the UK so I hope that doesn't slow it down at all. I want this done and over with already :).

So, anyone have any idea how much longer we may have? Our paperwork is in. Do they normally send both the buyer and the sellers closing docs out at the same time? I sure hope so. Closing is usually a few days after you send your paper work back I'm hoping.

So what's left after that? Just sending in the deed to transfer? I really have no patience left and I know I'm right on track for time, I was just hoping it would go faster....yeah I know, wishful thinking.

Thing is, we already have a trip planned for September. We rented points from a DVC owner that we rent points from for years now. We then added 5 extra nights on at AOA on the front of the trip and our contract comes with full banked points for 2013. We are going basically the end of the first week of September so I'm crossing my fingers I can get a studio SOMEWHERE even if its a split stay for those five nights and can cancel that AOA stay and can use some of those 2013 banked points. No use paying for those nights when I have points. But I NEED this contract to close already and for the deed to get on the books so it can go to Disney and my points can be loaded. As it is it probably wont be loaded until MAYBE the second week of August if I'm lucky. So I will have maybe two to three weeks before our trip to see if a studio is available anywhere. I know I probably have a better chance of winning the lottery then getting a studio three weeks out. But a girl can dream right pixiedust:

Congrats!!!! So exciting! I am still in ROFR, so I can not answer your questions. Sorry...... I hope you get to use your points!

:hyper:

You're probably looking at closer to 3 weeks assuming the sellers get their paperwork back asap both do get them emailed at the same time. Obviously things change but a studio at SSR is available 9/1-9/19..

Congratulations :cheer2:! I know it seems like forever, but then you will have your points and it will be so worth the wait :cool1:.

I think that after the docs are signed, they get sent to be recorded, then the recorded deed gets sent to Disney to add you to the system. I am not sure how long that takes. I bought a contract earlier this year with 105 points that were expiring within a month, and my broker asked nicely if Disney could rush it, and it seemed to be a day or so. It's all a blur now :rolleyes1.

I checked studios for 5 nights toward the end of the first week of September, and it looks like there are still villas out there :). Good luck!

Thanks !! Talk about stress. Upside is sooo much cheaper then buying direct....downside...sooo much longer. But in the end so worth going the resale route. Good luck with your ROFR ...sending pixiedust: your way.

Thanks all for the insight on the timeframes. I'm hoping the sellers want their $$ quickly and fast track their docs. This is my first DVC contract so that's why I'm so impatient. My next one I'll know the drill and HOPEFULLY will have more patience with the timeline, although I highly doubt it :lmao:

I have never wished time away so much in my life. And at 47 I should be wishing it to slow down, not speed up. But I want to thank you all so much, I don't post much on here, but you all are such a wealth of knowledge about DVC. We have been pondering buying DVC for a long time, years actually. We have been going to Disney since 1993, and have been renting points for the last 4 years to make sure this really was the right decision, which obviously it was or we would not have done it. I just wish I would have realized about resale sooner or I would have done it LONG ago.

As far as I know the current timeline was 75 days from start to finish on average.

:earsboy: Bill

Just a quick update. We closed yesterday, took a little extra time as sellers were from UK. We closed two days after sellers returned their closing docs. So from offer to close 53 days so far. Our title agent stated she will record the deed on Monday and ask DVC to complete the transfer on their end.

:cheer2:

Congratulations! Usually when European owners are involved it takes them a long time to return the documents. I think part of the problem is finding a notary. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing now and you will get access to your DVC account soon.
