I finally spoke with Rev Jack Day's Granddaughter- As many of you know I was stressing because I havent given him my ceremony vows yet and havent spoken to him in months! After calling him many times and e-mailing, still without a response- I finally called at the right time!! She eased my mind and we are all set to go. She said that standard procedure with him is that you e-mail him a copy of the vows in Word document and then also fax him a copy (or snail mail it... Im too close to the time to trust the USPS so ill just fax it tomorrow!).

YAY!

For those of you who havent spoken to your vendors and are afraid they have forgotten to you... take KimNKel's advice and be very persistant... (sent out the FBI if you have to... )

I'm so happy for you, I know how stressed you've been. Did she explain why he hadn't replied though, it seems quite off when your wedding is so close, they must have realised it was quite urgent that he respond in some form

Still at least you're on your way, I'm sure you're now very calm, you started writing those vows yet....

I can almost hear your sigh in relief through your writing. I can't imagine how stressful that was not to have heard back from him. I'm glad everything is working out. It also made me realize that I'll be in a similar boat. It's funny because I had 1-2 weeks where I was in a flurry of phone calls, but haven't spoken to anyone since. It would be nice if the vendors, etc., would take a leading role in letting you know that they've received things, and that everythings on schedule. I guess they have a lot going on, but it still would be nice.

No kidding. Last night Rev Jack Day personally called me himself. It wasnt the most pleasant conversation I have ever had (and honestly, not what I was expecting from this very reputable reverend). He could have had a bad day or something... but.. anyways. We spoke and thats all behind me. I have my vows finished and send to him. Apparently he and his granddaughter often contradict one another??? (*Or another bad day experience). She told me to e-mail him a copy and then fax a copy. He told me to fax a copy and snail mail a copy- but that it CAN NOT be on regular printed paper, it must be in the format that he sent us in the packet (Booklet style, copy and pasted in a book). I scanned mine at that point and it looks good- but very time consuming when he called me at 9pm and I was up all night copy, pasting, scanning, etc.

Sorry for the complaints... I think this whole officiant thing has been a bad experience for me.


FYI: Anyone trying to get in touch with Rosie ... I spoke with her this morning and she called me from an "Ohio" number (I.e. her cell phone). Shes out of town and doing work at the same time. She didnt say when she would be back but..... if its an emergency- I might be able to give you her number
