I finally had the chance (and the energy) since getting back almost 2 weeks ago to put my resort pictures on my web site! Here's a link to my Disney Vacations page, the link to this most recent trip is right near the top. Many of them are the same pictures from my thread, but there are a lot more on my site now. Enjoy, and feel free to ask any questions :sunny:

Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos! We’ve become addicted to Poly Concierge since 1996 when we tried it for what we thought was one time only. We’ve been back several times since for anywhere from one to five night stays. Your pics bring back many wonderful memories. I kept calling to DH “look at this picture” the “oh wait, look at this one” until he finally sat down and saw them all. :goodvibes

Gorgeous pics!! Wow!! What I wouldn't do to have that view! Those were my favorite.:thumbsup2

I do have a couple of questions to prepare for my trip in Oct. about the pool.

What is the deepest part of the Volcano pool?
What depth does the slide drop you into?

Your drinks make my mouth water! Rum does not agree with me, though. :headache: Can they substitute tequila? :yay:

Thanks so much! You are truly my inspiration for my upcoming stay. Very persuasive you are, lol.:rotfl:

I'm not sure how deep the deepest part is, but I can definitely stand up in it quite easily and not even come close to my head being under water! lol I'm 5'4", by the way. The deepest end is the furthest end away from the beach area. It's right where the stream enters the pool.

This leads me to your next question! For the first time I ever, I took the plunge (literally! LOL) and went down the slide this on this trip! It was a lot of fun and immediately upon landing in the water I was able to put my feet down and stand up. I'd guess it was probably 4' - 4 1.2' of water. However, the water is rushing past you rather quickly at that point, so if a child is shorter, or not a strong swimmer, you might want to be at the bottom of the slide to catch them. :) I saw a lot of parents do this. The lifeguards at WDW all seem top-notch and you can see them concentrating on their work, never taking their eyes off the water, while they're on duty. Of course, nothing replaces a parent's attention, when young children are in the water! :)

I like rum and can't stand tequila, so I can't help you with that, but I'm sure the bartenders will be able to mix up something that you'd like. lol

I hope you have a great time at the Polynesian!! :sunny:

Awesome pics!!! We were in 2nd floor Rapa Nui so we didn't get to see the beach except when we went to see the fireworks one night. We're going to have to do concierge on our next stay:) I have the same pic of the Tonga Toast. I sure miss those mornings waking up to eat our heart clogger, the Tonga Toast w/ sausage.

Thanks so much!

Can you tell me about thia volcano eruption? Can you hear it or just see it? Will my kids know when it happens and how often does it occur?

Thanks again! I hope you do not mind, but I am soooo excited I can hardly contain myself. We are telling the kids, 10, 7, and 5 in a few weeks and arrive at the Poly 10/26. Just thinking about telling them gives me butterflies in my stomach. I cannot wait to discuss the trip with them. Although, I am still considering surprising them with the resort choice. :flower3: What do you think?

Thank You so much Terry! My daughter and I just finished drooling over each and every picture!

counting down the days.

You showed one pic of pool cleaning? is this a set time every day or overnight or? any insight?

my favorite pic was of the beach combing and resulting Mickeys! so cool!

Thanks again. :thumbsup2

Thank you for sharing your family photos with us. They are beautiful pictures. I have to ask you, what kind of camera do you use? Thanks!

Terry,

I loved your pics. Absolutely wonderful. They really brought back memories of our stay. Thank you for posting them!

Happy belated anniversary!! :wizard:

O.K. SeaSpray...your terriffic pictures almost made me late for work this morning on my first day back after vacation:laughing:

I wanna go back to the Polynesian! I am already planning for 2010!

Thanks for the wonderful pictures (even the ones of the pineapple macadamia pancakes!):goodvibes

The pictures are terrific Terry. Thanks for everything!

Great pictures! We will be there in a few weeks! You stayed at the WL I think right before we did and I looked at your pics before. Thanks for sharing them and getting me all ready for our vacation!!
Laura

Thanks Poly Pal!! :cool2: LOL

By the way, my DH CapeCAD and I each entered a picture that we took during our last trip to the Polynesian, over on the Photography Board. If anyone would like to see our entries, and cast a vote for whichever photo they like the best, here's a link to the thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1548828

The topic was "Disney transportation", so DH and I each entered a pic we took of Disney transportation, from 2 different vantage points at the Polynesian; DH took his from our balcony of a resort launch which looks like it's heading right for us. LOL And my picture was taken from the side window of the Polynesian concierge, of a resort launch docked at the Polynesian marina, with the Grand Floridian in the background :) If you like either of our pictures, we'd appreciate the votes! :)

I did not notice when the volcano would "erupt", which really was just a little steam coming from the top. On previous trips I did notice the steam; I am not positive that it still occurs though, since I didn't see it on this trip. Maybe someone else can come by and say if they saw it recently or not.

However, within the last couple of months they added fake "lava" sliding down the slide of the volcano, from the top, which looks pretty cool. It's on the side of the volcano near where the slide opening is, at the top :)

I always have a difficult time keeping good things a secret, so I'd be a bad person to ask about surprises! I think a surprise like this is great though! Let me know if you decide to tell them or not! :3dglasses

LOVE your pics...what kind of camera do you use?
Kim

Until this trip, I personally had taken every picture on my web site. But this trip, my DH used his brand new Sony Alpha DSLR camera to take many of the pictures. The ones I took were using our old Olympus p&s camera, which I still love to use. If you need any further technical info, I can ask my DH :)

I saw them cleaning the pool at various times; fortunately it never seemed to take them very long to finish and reopen the pool. If it is a set time that they cleaned the pool, then I didn't notice that. I just happened to see them cleaning a few times, but different times.

Thank you for sharing your family photos with us. They are beautiful pictures. I have to ask you, what kind of camera do you use? Thanks!

See the answer above about our cameras! If you'd like more info about the cameras, let me know and I'll ask DH to post here :)
