We have gotten into the habit of booking trips on short-notice. It's good from the standpoint we don't have to wait too long between trips. It's bad in that we don't always get to eat at our favorite spots. Well, this is gonna be our 12th trip (leave in 2 weeks), and I JUST got into LeCellier for the FIRST TIME EVER! I've obviously heard all great things, and have always been jealous, I just hope it lives up to the hype. ;)

I understand your excitement! DH and I are going on our first solo trip to WDW this fall for the food and wine festival. I tried getting an ADR for Le Cellier a few days ago but there was nothing...and I just got something today! Woo hoo! :cool1:

Try to lower expectations so you won't be disappointed. It is a VERY good restaurant. That, and the fact that it is so small is what makes ADRs so difficult. But I've read many a report stating, "What's the big deal?" After folks wait for so long to eat there and then are underwhelmed. What I can tell you from my own experience, is that it is :cloud9: :thumbsup2. Enjoy! :goodvibes

Congratulations! I definitely think it's worth going there to form your own opinion of the place. Le Cellier seems to be a controversial restaurant due to the high expectations surrounding it (and many of those expectations are because it was a 1-credit steakhouse with expensive entrees and comforting, not-too-foreign dishes).

I feel like I'm in the middle. My lunch experiences in the past were rarely positive, and I had basically given up on LC. However, I tried the new dinner and really liked some of the new menu items. On my next trip, I plan on returning for both lunch and dinner, in order to see if lunch has improved (and if my dinner experiences at the beginning of March were flukes).

Congratulations i wont tell you how JEALOUS i am actaully I will IM SOOOOOO Jealous :rotfl2: Im desperatly trying to save so Hubby and I can do a trip with NO kids in October! and LE Cellier is a Amazing place to eat the Fillet Mignon is so so good! and i think Desert is really yummy, we went for the 1st time last yr and i thought the food was as good as Citrocus and we had to go twice we got lucky, But let me tell you whilst in a que we seen loads of people try and get ressies for anyday in their vacation with the Cm saying there was nothing!!!!! for their whole 21 night stay! we could only get the 2 in our 21 night stay! so i think its a great thing to Celebrate getting welldone you! :)

It is a very good meal and worth the money. We love the pretzel breadsticks, in fact my mouth is watering just writing about them.....

It is fabulous! The filet is to die for and I love the cheese soup with sourdough bread stick (I'm a rebel, the pretzel stick isn't for me ;))

I just dropped Le Cellier due to having to move our trip from Sept to Oct. Hope whoever gets it enjoys. Hope you do also it's a place. It's a must do for me.

We got a lunch ADR for Le Cellier for our November trip - I couldn't believe my eyes when I booked it online! Usually when I try to get an ADR at LC there are no times to be found!! :) Enjoy - I know we will when we go!

Go for the cheese/beer soup as an appetizer then tackle a steak for the main course. Wash it all down with a couple of bottles of Le Fin du Monde and you'll go away happy!

Congrats on getting something you really wanted. :)

I used to always want Le Cellier for every trip and was blessed enough to get it each time, but Le Cellier is now a thing of the past for us and we do not even do the dining plan. Please try not to have really high expectations. One of the main reasons it is so hard to get is because there is a state-of-mind about "having to book Le Cellier" and the place is really small.

I hope you enjoy your meal. I can tell you that there are other places on property that make a better steak.

I've tried booking for our week in October and am coming up with nothing. Sheesh, i thought it was the slow time of year! Do you think there will be a walk up option?

To the OP. I certainly hope that Le Cellier lives up to the expectations you have of it. For me, it left me thinking it was ok, but far from some sensational hyped up dining experience I had read about. The buzz has diminished a bit since this place went signature during dinner, which if your on the DDP I hope you did realize this.

But with that said, congrats on the late reservation and I truly hope you enjoy your ADR at Le Cellier and that it not only meets your expectations, but exceeds them. :thumbsup2

I agree 100%. Try to lower your expectations. Sadly, I was one of the people that left disapointed. The whole meal i kept thinking "this is it?? this is what people rave about?". It wasnt that good to be honest....the soup, or the steak. I really wanted to like it thou. I really did. Lol. Congrats on getting the ressie. hope you enjoy it! :)

We ate at LC on our last trip and we loved it. My DS said it was a religious experience. We've booked a lunch for Aug and can't wait.

Go and enjoy!!

I'm going for the first time as well in September... this is my first Disney trip with the DDP (free!) and that I really know my food options. I'll have to see if it's a "must-do" for all future trips. I made the cheese soup at home this winter and it was DELICIOUS! I wonder if it will taste the same there...

I am a person of religion, but if Le Cellier were my first religious experience I guess I would not have become a religious person. I'd have to say the gospel of Le Cellier left me leaving the house a non believer. :lmao:

It is absolutely wonderful!! All the way from the bread to the soup to the dessert! I am so happy you got in, I say it is a must do restaurant! We are leaving in around 3 weeks and will also be eating at Canada! We love it! Congrats!:goodvibes

Congrats to you! We have never been able to get in. But after reading your post I just tried and we were able to actually get a ADR! So I am doing the happy dance!:cool1:

We have eaten there twice for dinner - before it went back to 2 credits for dinner.

We had one phenomenal experience, and once so-so experience.

The 2nd time was the so-so experience - we had to wait over an hour for our ADR - it was awful. They really need to add more benches outside the restaurant.

The reservation was late to start with - around 8:30 I think - so we didn't get in till around 9:30 - by the time we had desert it was going almost 10:45 pm due to the fact that I had to sent my too tough to even cut steak back. I had ordered the coffee rubbed steak, and while the flavor of the first few bites was amazing - I couldn't even cut it after the first few bites. There were three veins of gristle running right through the center of the cut.

They brought me an new steak - I told him I would take what they could bring the quickest, I think it was the NY Strip - that was delicious - but 15-20 minutes late - it was insanely late.

I'm sure we will eat there again - perhaps we will have better luck with on-time ADR seating by going for lunch.

The steaks are fantastic - however, they aren't as good as what we had on our honeymoon in 2006 at the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary. unfortunately - the Concourse is no longer there :sad2:

We have also had amazing steaks at Coral Reef - we took my parents in 2008 and my mom was still talking about how that was the most amazing steak she had ever eaten!

We have yet to try the Yachtsman - but I hear it is superb as well.

I have also heard great things about the Turf club at Saratoga Springs.
