Finally got a decent auto rental rate for Sept.

I rely sooo much on these boards for help with trip planning....I have to share what I think is decent advice for car rentals. I just, just, just used priceline for an 11 day Sept trip with pick-up at MCO and drop-off at Tampa. I got an11 day compact from National $218 total (all taxes and fees included). Much better than the $310 I couldn't get past (and had a hard time swallowing). I probably got hit with a "drop off" fee since I'm using 2 different locations. Entered a bid of $11.00 a day. I'm happy....thought I'd share.

11 days @ $11.00 a day would be 121.00; do they list what all the extra fees are?
I need a car for 24 days, but if the taxes and fees double the rental price then my price through Advantage is actually better. I just am really afraid of Advantage because of the reviews and feel I would be more comfortable with the major companies that Priceline is usually associated with.

ive been pricing out both national & alamo (pickup TPA, drop off @ MCO)...no drop charge

u got a deal, my best rate (so far) for 8 days in Dec. is just shy of $200

Nice one. I couldn't figure out how to do a one way rental with priceline. I scored 7 days rental in September of a compact for $206 all in with budget. No special codes or anything but it was a city special for Orlando. The prices just dropped back down about 3 days ago from almost double that.
