So I got a bit over excited yesterday and forgot ask my Aunt if the dates I picked would be Ok with her. Of course Murphy's Law, and now she was planning on going to take her family to North Carolina the weekend of May 27-29. :headache:

So I emailed her and may need to called Disney and move the dates around a bit.

Today has not been a good day for me. Woke up super later since I set my alarm for 6 pm instead of am. Then I find out about the dates I picked are bad. But I'm going to see Harry Potter tonight so it going to get more awesomer as the day goes by. (yes i did just say awesomer. I'm a dork, I know.)

Also my boyfriend's Dad and Step mother are coming in from Florida to say at our new apartment tomorrow. I'm super nervous about making a good impression and having the place clean and looking nice and what not. I've stayed at there house before, it's just that his step mom can be a bit critical at times (especially with a few drinks in her :rolleyes1) But Steve's dad is really laid back much like his son so I'm sure he'll be happy.

I'm a huge geek and a HUGE advocate for technology. I believe that with the help of technology and the internet, you can bring the world closer together. My mom understands this more than anyone else in my family. She is on a board like this one for Puerta Villarta, Mexico. So she's no strange to Trip Reports. In fact, much like people her on the DIS, when she goes down to PV (as they call it) she has met many people and has made life long friends with people from the board.

So, I have been showing Mia the Disboards and all it's splendor. I participate in the Big Give and she was confused at first as to how I was making stuff for a kid I've never met before. Then I showed her Tim's (That's nice) PTR for his daughter Juliana's Wish Trip and she totally got it.

So, I told her she can even write stuff that I will post on our PTR/TR. I don't know if she going to write something for the PTR but most definitely for the TR. She's was excited when I told her I would get her a journal that she can use during the trip.

I'm a huge nerd and think that this will give her an opportunity to improve her communication skills, writing skills, and learn to use new technology (message boards) all at the same time.

I've been thinking about things that I need/want/make for our trip.

- Disney Passporter book. I've read Cherie's TR and she raves about this book

- Unoffical Guide to Disney World book - Yuki says this is a really good resource

- A Disney note book or journal to jot down notes before and during the trip

- A pin starter set for Mia and I

- Mickey Crocs (the one with the mickey head holes, Red for me)

- Shorts for me, I grew out of majority of my shorts last summer, Goodwill her I come or Kohls' clearance section.

- New Gym shoes/ sneakers (we call them Gym shoes here in Chicago) May need to do research/spend a little more $$$ because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and want to best shoes so my joints don't get tired/painful quickly.

- Make Mia a passport to have CM's sign in WS.

That's all for now, make think of other things later.

Sorry you had a rough start to your morning. Hopefully it was because you are going to have an awesomer evening (see, I used it too so you don't feel so dorky, LOL) so your day had to balance itself out with some bad stuff. :goodvibes Don't worry, I'm sure if you need to switch the reservation around by a few days, it won't be a problem.

As for his parents coming over, just stop, breathe, and relax. :) It'll be ok. My DF's mom is ... well, sometimes she just seems really obessed with her son. After 10 years of us being together I am still convinced she doesn't like me. Don't get me wrong she is nice and friendly towards me but deep down I get that feeling that she thinks I'm not good enough. I've just learn to accept it, I smile and laugh with her.

Aw, what a great Auntie! :thumbsup2 I agree and look forward to seeing Mia's posts. Hi Mia! We're waiting to chat with you.

I've been thinking about things that I need/want/make for our trip.

- Mickey Crocs (the one with the mickey head holes, Red for me)

- Shorts for me, I grew out of majority of my shorts last summer, Goodwill her I come or Kohls' clearance section.

That's all for now, make think of other things later.

I'll comment on the above two. Check out Crocs' website from time to time, they throw the shoes on clearance. Or if you have any Factory Outlet Malls, check out if there is a Croc one at that location. They've been creeping into the Outlet Malls. I'll check the Croc outlet here near Disney from time to time and let you know if I see any on clearance. Oh, and check eBay too! I got super steals for shorts at the end of summer this year, yeah I know it isn't going to help you now. But keep an eye out for when they start to bring them in, I would guess maybe Spring. Or better yet see if anyone has some on super duper clearance. Boy would you luck it then, what would they be a penny?

Moving the trip back to the original dates September 17-23. I plan on calling Disney tomorrow and asking about getting the free dining promo.

:lmao:

Will you ever make it to Disney Kristin?

September may be better - you can possibly check out the Halloween party then, which I say is a must!! :)

You know I was thinking, you might be able to check out the very beginning of Food & Wine. It seems like they keep pushing it earlier each year.

Wow, so much going on. Did you make the switch?

How was HP? My sister said it was EPIC. I still haven't seen it

I'm happy to report my worries about DBF's family staying at our place was unfounded. Everything went really well except for a little hiccup when there dog (a yappy Bichon with seperation anxiety) barked the entire time when we left to go have Pizza. Other than that, everything went well. Other than the fact that Steve's (my DBF) step mom is a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan and there was Packers stuff in my house. :rotfl:My family are HUGE Bears fans being from Chicago (Packers and Bears and rivals).

Other than that, I haven't changed the dates yet, my Aunt said they MIGHT go to South Carolina. So I don't know. Sigh. People, they make me crazy sometimes.

On the subject of Harry Potter. It was the BEST Harry Potter movie to date. I laughed, I cried, I got the crap scared out of me.

There is a scene in the movie when Harry is fighting a snake and the snake falls into a hole. I knew the snake was going to shoot out of the hole and scare me so I braced myself and snuggled close to Steve. When it did pop out I jump so high in my seat I actually head butted Steve in the face.:scared1: He was ok, but I was afraid I was going to wake up with a black.

How would that have looked if his Dad came over only to find his son sporting a big shiner:rotfl2:

Also the movie is almost scene for scene identical to the book.

I'm so glad the weekend went well!

So...you can't change dates until your aunt is sure about South Carolina?

Wooow, I can't wait to watch the movie! I'm so happy fans are pleased with it. It seems every time a movie comes out, fans have TONS of things to pick on it. But then, that's pretty much whenever something gets a live action movie adaptation.

No I'm just leaving the dates as is for right now. She a bit flaky when it comes to planning things. Can you tell. :lmao:

I'm so glad to hear that everything went well with the in-laws. :goodvibes

I'm also glad to hear that you enjoyed the movie. I'm going to have to check it out in a few weeks. I hate going to the movies when the theater is packed. LOL, I guess its the loner side of me. I just can't stand the crowds. :)

Hi everyone this is Mia. This is first time going to Disney World. I'll post more when we have more plans.:wave2:

Hi Mia!!! Welcome to the Dis!! We look forward to hearing more from you.

:welcome:

Happy Thanksgiving Kristin, Mia, and Yuki! :)

Thanks everyone for Mia's warm welcome. She wasn't sure what to post. And her baby sisters kept pressing random buttons on my laptop as I was trying to type. Maddie insisted she was "helping" me.

But yesterday I picked up the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2011!!:cool1::cool1: I already read through the first chapter.:rolleyes1 Yuki was right, it is really good.

Also got some Christmas presents yesterday. Picked up Mia Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids. My mom used to buy me this book when I was younger for all our Disney trips and flipping through it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling of nostalgia.:lovestruc

Also got the babies a Disney Princess book about manners. Although they are very polite saying thank you and you're welcome all the time. I also plan on getting Mia the Hidden Mickey field guide but they didn't have it when I was at Borders.

Oh, my baby cousins have a disney princess book about manners too! I wonder if it's the same book....
