This is only one of my first posts but I have been lurking about the board getting some AWESOME advice :surfweb: for awhile now! Thought I would finally post and thank everyone for the ideas!

DH, DS13 and myself are having our first family Disney vacation June 10th - 16th! :cool1: DH and I were there on our Disneymoon (Parks\Cruise) in 1987 and have not been back since. We decided to celebrate our 20th Anniversary Disney style!

I am soo excited but I believe DH is starting to regret giving in!! :rolleyes2
Disney this... Disney that... the pop quiz of "Guess What??.. We are going to Disney in XX days" every night at dinner... The old.. do you think we should eat here or there? you know.. normal obsessive over planning conversations! :rotfl2:

He hates crocs (yes I ran out and bought them :rolleyes1 )... he has no idea what "bodyglide" is (he had his own idea of what it was  until I set him straight! :lmao: )... he could care less what bag we are caring to the parks and he thought I was nuts spending the weekend making matching tye dyed Mickey tees (BTW, :thumbsup2 they came out awesome!)

Anyway... our trip will be a magical :wizard: vacation thanks to everyone here!

:woohoo:
So far we have recieved our confirmation, our maps and our ME docs :cool1:
Why is the time moving so sloooooooow :hourglass

Good plan = Good experience at WDW no plan = bad time to the max.Have a magical time :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

30 Days Left!! :cool1:
I finally added dining to our package this morning and now we are all set!

:cheer2:

Your husband will be so happy you've done the planning! When he hasn't stood in 2 hour long lines, and when he needs band-aids, or an aspirin and you reach into your handy dandy-perfect for WDW-bag and find it lickety split, or when you've toured ALL day long and your feet feel fabulous and you're in a great mood because your feet aren't aching, then he'll be thrilled you've done your research!!

Enjoy!!! Have a great anniversary trip!!

Thank you! At least someone understands!! :lmao:
I know I overplanned a bit ;) , but when I opened the mailbox and saw my final papers from Disney with my way cool luggage tags I was just overjoyed and could not talk about anything else last night. DH just smiles and figures there is no point in trying to change the subject.:confused3 .. as you said, he will be thrilled when all is said and done.

Thanks!!

It's funny, you wrote 24 more days..... I woke up this morning thinking, '30 more days.....' We are leaving on June 16 (we're driving and staying overnight in Atlanta and won't arrive at the World until the 17th), just as you're leaving.

I noticed your Autism Awareness avatar....I don't know if someone close to you has it or if it's just a cause that's near and dear to your heart, but I wanted to share a sweet story with you. My son, who we thought was Autistic for a long time and still exhibits many traits but never tests high enough on CARS to be identified as ASD, anyways----long story there----BUT...my point is that we had taken him and my DD to Disney and his language just TOOK off!! He LOVED the sights, the smells, the fun surroundings! He said "Mommy water ride" there and I still tear up thinking about that. It gave us a whole new repertoire of things to work on at home when we were doing his therapy! We bought him a souvenir book, which he still looks at, and we used it as a tool for practicing his new found words and sounds!

Disney TRULY is a magical place!!!!

WHOO HOO to your 30 days!!

My DS has Autism with limited speech. It is very encouraging to hear about your DS. I do ask my son who we are going to see and as clear as a bell "MICKEY" so who knows what else he will be saying by the end of our trip!! I plan on caring tissues with me most of the time because I know how magical the entire trip will be for him  .

Have a magical trip!!

Have a magical journey!

I too was married in 1987 and just celebrated our 20th anniversary.
I wish we could celebrate with a trip to WDW. :wizard:

I spend time on the boards here from time to time, dreaming about our next trip. I have been a total of three times in my life, once as a thirteen year old girl (LOVED IT!!!) and once with my DH before kids and the last time, two years ago with my DS who was eight and my DD who was two. I am hoping to go again as a family in 2008. My DH was just like yours -- He would roll : his eyes and shake his head :sad2: when I tried sharing all my Disney wealth of info with him. But during our trip, he did tell me several times how much he appreciated all the planning I did for our trip. He even told my son how lucky he was to have a mom like me who planned our trip and the fun things we did during the trip for them. My son thanked me as well.

Anywhoo -- What is a bodyglide? I haven't come across that term.

Hi! Congratulations!

And, we too are celebrating our 20th Anniversary at Disney!! June 20. We were there for our honeymoon, stayed in DTD, but longed for the Poly. This time it will be the Poly for 2 nights and 2 nights at SSR, our new DVC spot! We have not been back alone (but a number of times with DS and DD), so we CANNOT WAIT to do whatever we want! I feel like a little kid going for the first time!!

Have fun! We're planning to!!
:yay: :dance3:

We were married June 20th!!! How funny!! We honeymooned offsite for a couple of days then did an NCL Cruise to the Bahamas (these were the days before the Disney cruises but I am sure we would have done that instead!)

We are going a week earlier then our anniversary due to work schedules but I don't think one week matters when we are at DISNEY!! We are also celebrating our son's "Gotcha Day"... he was adopted 10yrs ago so this is a really big day in our family!

Have a Magical time "Alone" and early Congrats on your 20th!!

Anywhoo -- What is a bodyglide? I haven't come across that term.

I think bodyglide prevents chafing and blisters on your feet (or any where you put it) and it looks like a deodorant stick.

I am currently looking for it at Dick's Sporting Goods but have not had any luck.

Thanks for the warm wishes and Happy Belated 20th!!:wizard:

  6 Days!!

I am just about packed, my DS is finishing up his last week of school, my DH has his list of last minute things to do and I am DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!!

We decided to go to Disney World in March and at the time it seemed like "forever" until it got here.. well HERE IT IS, SIX DAYS!! WHOO HOO!!
:mickeyjum :goofy: :donald:

4 days from now we will chilling by the pool :beach: in DISNEY!!!
Until then... way too much to do! :laundy:

This is almost a pre-trip report!

It's almost here!!!

Have a great time!!
