Finally going back...4.5 years is too long!!!

Ch4 Th rest of the missing contents of the luggage/Day 2 Plans...maybe

Sorry for the delayed response...P/T Conferences last night and it was just enough to try and catch up on some other PTR's, and I havent read the new one yet. But, we've been awarded a 2 hour delay this morning, so I'll get a quick update in and read some PTR's tonight....hopefully. (Our official countdown has reach the 30's finally....39 to be exact :cool1:)

Way back in the first trip, we've told you about leaving DS son suitcase full of clothes back in KC. However, it wasnt until the first morning that I found out that the situation was much worse though. Our first full day was to be spent at MK. Me and DD are up early and ready to go, the others...not so much. So after we are ready, we go to Everything POP and grab breakfast for everyone and bring it back to the room. THis is when i walked into the firestorm....

Apparently in the suitcase with our DS's clothes and other little important things that a 6 month old will need to survive for a week away from home was....the wife's makeup, straightener, hair dryer....you know the essentials for any woman that needs to go anywhere apparently....you would of thought that we had actually left DS in KC instead of just his luggage...lets just say she obviously got over it, but is always quick to point this out when looking at picutres from the first trip. But there were several "looks" that morning that were not too good yet...
I believe this is from that morning when we were waiting for the MK bus and she wouldn't smile or look at the camera for the pic...lol

ok...sorry no update on plans, will get to that tonight. Gots to get ready for school!!

I am loving how you write your PTR. It's like a good suspense novel that you keep reading until 3 in the morning because you just have to know what happens next.:thumbsup2

I can understand how your DW can be upset with all that stuff left at home, but tell her that she looks great.:thumbsup2

And even though I do wear makeup when I am at WDW I usually find that it was all sweated off my afternoon. I also remember taking time in May to straighten my hair and make it nice, than it rained when we were on BTMRR and my hair was a total mess later. (That reminds me I need to bring a hair brush in the parks with me. :lmao:)

I would probably find it liberating to not have to do the hair, make-up, etc. While I do all of that stuff every day, Saturdays are my no make-up/ hair in a ponytail day every week. I think I do the hair and make-up for the benefit of others rather than myself... :lmao:

Really good story, though! :rotfl2:

Oh, yeah, I'd be upset too!! I've decided not to mess with straightening this time, though, there's just too much humidity. I have a lot of natural wave, so it just doesn't work. I'll just ponytail during the day and scrunch to a nice curl for evening. I know you really wanted to know that ;)

In all honesty, it never was a real issue like the reasons you guys pointed out and she is not a real layer it on kinda gal anyways...its just one of those fun things she gets to remind me about from time to time. You know, the stuff that you ladies like to remind us when we screw up from time to time(or all the time, whatever...:)

Ch4.1 Some actual plans now...

Monday, March 19

First full day at Disney. I have no idea what we are doing this day....well just one.
ADR at Sci-Fi fat 5:45. And thats really it.

I would love to be at MK as late as we can be on the 18th since its open til 2AM. I cancelled CP for this day because it was set for 8:05 and we are going to out late, then there was no way could make that.

Sooooo, maybe its a get up and check out the pool slow morning and head to DHS when we are all up and around and not too grumpy from a long travel day.

Or....the Cardinals just so happen to be playing the Braves in a Sping Training game that day at Wide World of Sports....but I might be the only one that really wants to go to that...(but it is the Cardinals though. A buddy and me drove to STL and scalped tickets for Game 6 of the WS and then stood outside the stadium during Game 7 when they won it....very crazy to say the least that night)

Or....me and whatever kid, probably DD, is up first head back to MK and dink around till the others wake up and we meet up with them. Grab some Cinnamon rolls from the Main Street bakery or something.

Or....I could head over with a child to DHS and try and get a fastpass that might work around our ADR time for the day. (Since return time will now be policed:rotfl:) DD really wants to do the Art of Animation at least once if not a couple times, (she really is digging art things now) Could check out Playhouse Disney...

But, I am pretty excited to eat at Sci-Fi...think the kids will love getting to sit in the cars. Heard the food is ok, not special or anything. But, then again, we are pretty average in the food dept. Hamburger, fries and shakes are right up our alley on most things.

Afterwards, if we were lucky enough have grabbed a fastpass or something, see what little things we can get to without a huge wait. Dunno...

I think it will be a just go with the flow kinda day. After hopefully doing what we want to on Sunday, I don't want to push to much the next day....yet:thumbsup2

Ch.5

To go along with Fastpass issue and all the other refurbs going on, I also ran in to this...

http://www.wdwmagic.com/Resorts/Bay...ower-pool-slide-closing-for-refurbishment.htm

However, if everything stays on schedule, there should be no problem....but we all know how these things work...again, not a huge deal, but just another one of those things that play a part in the whole vacation.

March 20.

EMH at Epcot...would love to be there as early as possible to get things going. We didnt do much here last time. Not even sure why, but we really only did Nemo and TurtleTalk with Crush, which was totally awesome.

Must do Soarin', Test Track and do all of those little fun things, like in Innovations and maybe taking a journey with Figament. The other really big thing that we want to is the Kim Possible missions. It would be great to get at least get couple 2-3 countires in this trip. We've seen this on so many other TR's that DD is really excited to do this. Any of you guys done these yet?? They look like a ton of fun with all the technology it incorporates.

We have an ADR for 11:35 for Coral Reef today. The menu just looks ok, nothing overly exciting, and most of the reviews are really hit and miss. So, I'm not real sure what to expect from the food here. But, since we will be there pretty much right when they open, we are going to request a tankside table. This is pretty much just an experience thing for us, I asked DD if she would rather eat here or at the Garden Grill with Chip and Dale, and she didnt even hesitate about wanting to at Coral Reef. (We've YouTubed some of these places to see what they look like other than just regular pics). This is a place that I haven't seen a lot of people talk about on their TR's, but very interesting. So we will see what happens.

Would like to go checkout World showcase after we eat, and this might be where we try our first Kim Possible mission or see what times on any Fastpass we may have gotten from the morning. Or, at some point, may be head back to the Rsort and nap or swim and then head back somehwere else.
Last time I checked the schedule, there was no EMH evening this night or an EMH tomorrow morning. But, I wold really like to come back(or stay), at Epcot and see Illuminations this time too.

Almost forgot that the FLower and Garden Festival will be going on, so will have to check all the cool topiaries that will be out. AND....i want the kids to stop by CLub Cool and tryout the "Beverly" and see just how bad that stuff tastes...I love the pics of the people when they try it !!

Before I sign off for today, another fun blast from the last trip....

DD and I went and had breakfast at O'Hana with Lilo and friends, which was a lot of fun, and good food...

We then went and visited ToonTown and saw the Princess' after waiting in line for a ridicously long time. It was such a fun morning with just me and her, probably one of my fondest memories from that trip. Hope we can squeeze in some one on one time like that again this trip with both of them this time...

We also visited the Grand Floridian and visited the Gingerbread house they do every Christmas...(It is so fancy in there....felt waaaay out of place).

And another thing that we will miss from the first trip....riding in the front of the monorail...What an awesome experience. Our guy let us stay up there for the Resort loop

So after taking a couple hours with just DD, the wife called and said that DS was up, so DD and I headed back to Pop, but not before another memorbale experience that we can laugh at now, but was a little scary at first. We had made our way to the Pop bus stop, which is the farthest away stop btw. Wasn't a bad wait, us and about 4 other people. There was no one behind us so DD thought she would run back and forth in the queue line, touch one end and run back to me.

I had just told her to be careful and watch out when....whammo

Hit her head on the divider bar.

Once I made sure she was ok, no blood, no bumps, etc....for whatever reason, I couldn't stop laughing about it. The people in line and the bus probably thought I as an awful Dad, but I'm on the bus, holding her and all I could was laugh at her about it...and then she started laughing about and we were doing it slow motion...and i showed her on the camera in a sequence, which she thought was funny too. But, that little bruise stayed with her for a good month or so...

3 day weekend here, hoping to get more PTR's read today and a new post up tomorrow!! Our countdown is down to 36 today!! Can't wait to hear from you early March goers before we get to go.

You're a horrid daddy for laughing! :lmao: Okay, so I'm guilty, too, as a mom. I've laughed at my kids for little (minor) bumps and such. Sorry she had a bruise though. :guilty:

Loved your pictures! I had never seen the Gingerbread house before! (Well, never in person, but not in pictures either!!!) I'm anxious to hear how you enjoy Coral Reef! It has made it to our ADRs a couple of times over the years, and I've always cancelled for something in the WSC. We wanted to do KP last year, but just never found the time. Maybe we'll get to it this year. Fingers are crossed anyway!

FYI, have you read about the Sorcerer's game at MK? I've heard it puts KP to shame. It's similar, but you use trading cards (instead of a "cellphone"). However, KP will still have it's place, since I think it teaches small facts about the country you're in? Or am I mistaken? :confused3

Have you tried the Beverly? :confused3 I mean, don't get me wrong, you should definitely let the kids try it, but have you tried, it yourself? :lmao: I read all about it and then had DH try it. He figured it out before he took a sip. He can read minds. We loved sampling the different beverages of the world. Some of them good, some not so much. :sad2: Hoping for pictures this year of our kids! (We missed it as we didn't know it closed at 7 last year.)

Okay, entertain me some more! popcorn::

Liam did the Kim Possible thing last year when we went in May. I think we did four countries. Just be prepared that each country takes about 20 minutes each. It made us slow down a little in world showcase and see things we don't normally get to see.

We went to Coral Reef for dinner in May as well. Both Liam and I really enjoyed the food and seeing the fish swim buy was really nice. The kids were given a paper with diffrent fish and drawn pictures of them. It was nice for him to be able to look for the diffrent fish that were in the tank.:thumbsup2

I have read about the Sorcerer game at MK, but havent seen any reports from anyone yet...might need to go investigate that. I imagine we will try that one too.

No, I havent tried the Beverly, but will with them. I wont make them try unless I did...and I doubt that DS will try it, but we'll see. Cant wait to show those pics during the TR!!:thumbsup2

Update tomorrow...hopefully :rolleyes1

Thanks for the review of Coral Reef...I hope they still do that, our kids will love doing that.

Four countries?? You guys are troopers!! I just hope that we can solve one!!! I envision us as the people that would have to ask for help from CM's!!! :rotfl2:

I love all the pictures! And the gingerbread house is amazing!

LOL I can see me doing the same thing... I occasionally laugh at the girls when they do something careless to get themselves hurt - especailly oldest dd - who gets very angry when I do that - but she does it a lot. :) Of course - I always make sure they are OK first.

We are all so close to going you guys!!! WHOOT!!!!

Ch6.

Wed. March 21

Would love for this be our Studios day to get there at RD and get our TSM FP's!!! That is what we are going try and do, even if its not quite rope drop....this will be our park this morning.

Still trying to convince DD to ride ToT with me. I am not a ride person, hate them would still be too nice a way to put it. But...I promised her that I would ride it with her the next time that we went.....but she is backing out now. And I should be ok with that, because I'm not that excited to go on it, but I would love for her to try it with me so we could conquer it together....so we will still see with this one. I'm gonna keep on trying to convince her.

So with all this ToT talk, DD tells the wife that she want to try Rockin Roller Coaster....??? The wife, who likes rides, just giggled and said ok, but we shall see. I might have to suck it up and go too....sigh

Not sure if the kids will want to do the Star Wars thing or not, but will give it a try and see. Indiana Jones is a must do for the wife...she just loves anything to do with Indiana...

Our ADR for the day is back at the Wilderness Lodge.

Whispering Canyon

It just looks too fun and the skillet looks AWEsome!!!!
WE've watched the YouTube videos of what happens when you ask for ketchup and DD is excited about doing that as well.

This is an AK EMH PM, but not sure of we will partake in that or not. I think that our evening is up for grabs....might be a good time to split and each take a kid and spend some one on one with either one of them. It was just too much fun last time doing that, really wanted to make time for that again.

DD has said she wanted to go back and visit Pop one time, and I would love to take the kids down to the BW, espcially at night to experience that as well.

Tonights blast from the past is from Cinderellas Royal Table. We ate here on our full park day...it was definetly nice, and thought about doing it again this time, but decided to try newer things this time...

Till next time...

I love the idea of splitting up and spending some one-on-one time with a kiddo! And on another night, you guys can switch it up!

I highly recommend Star Tours. I'm not a big SW fan (I like it, its okay, but I only know like two characters from the whole series). I absolutely loved it! Even DS5, who is a SW fan, loved the ride. We were stopped after one of our rides in May (the weekend it re-opened), where some families wanted to talk to DS about the ride (they had kids his age and wanted his review of the ride). :thumbsup2

I am a thrill junkie ... but ToT is too much for me! It's my DD's favorite ride, so I have to brave it for her once each year ... but I'm the mom standing in line crying, begging to not have to ride it.

I'm a big fan of RnRC, but that's not surprising. :lmao: It's really not bad as far as thrill rides go. It's still pretty tame. :thumbsup2 WDW is great with theming, so you focus more on the decor than the ride itself. And yes, it's a dark ride, but you can see all the decor. Plus, my DD never could tell when we went upside down. I can, but I'm used to the sensation of going upside down from other coasters. I highly recommend trying it once. I know it's not everyone's "cup 'o tea", but some people get surprised at what they enjoy. :thumbsup2

I do recommend that if anyone is apprehensive about rides, youtube ride videos! There's several out there of RnRC and Space Mtn that have "lights on", so you can see the tracks. It's what I had to do to prepare my DD for coasters. She was able to see the tracks, so she knew it went upside down and corkscrews, etc.

Can't wait to hear if your DD tries the thrill rides and how she likes them! :goodvibes

We are also planning on trying Sci Fi in Dec. My oldest son really wants to go there. We are also planning on Coral Reef and WC.

I have heard really great things about Ohana bkfst. I will have to try it sometime.

So jealous your trip is so close!! And hopefully no bags will be forgotton this time around :lmao:

We love Youtubing rides!! We are really disappointed about BTMRR being closed, DD was wanting to ride that one big time...oh well. Not much can be done about that.

Want to try Star Tours, just not real sure hoe DS will do with the simulation of it, but I'm pretty sure that DD will love it!

We are also planning on trying Sci Fi in Dec. My oldest son really wants to go there. We are also planning on Coral Reef and WC.

I will have to give you some reviews of restaurants then, I'm gonna try to take a lot of pics of just about everything this time. So, I hope it all goes well at those restaurants, but I'll let you know if it doesnt ;)

Yes, we loved O'Hana for breakfast. So much that we almost added this time around too, but wanted to try different things this time.

Thursday March 22....

ADR at CP at 8:05 for an early breakfast inside the park. SOme poor planning on my part on this one. Had this originally scheduled for our first full day. But with MK being open the night before, I'm guessing we were going to be too tired to get up and make this one when I first thought.

Then, as I was checking for reservations for CP the rest of the week, I didnt pay too close attention to the fact the MK was EMH morning this day. Oh well, we'll still be in the park early, just hoping it won't be too terribly crowded when we are done.

Really want to make sure we try and do the things at MK that we wanted to do but hadnt yet and of course the ones we just plain want to do again...:cool1:

We do have an ADR at T-Rex for a late lunch and will get some more shopping done too. Both kids seem super excited to eat here with all the Dinosaurs!!

Gotta get all those souveners for the people back home. And not to mention getting more Disney character pieces for our Mr. Potato Head!! Have to make a stop at Design a Tee so DD can make a Tee, something else she has seen on TR's. Days od CHristmas is a must stop to look for some ornamnets for the family tree and the kids want to pick out something for their own trees too.

I will actually be surprised if this is the first time we make it down to DD. Im sure the wife will want to go and check it out sometime before this day.

It is nice knowing that in a month,we'll be there finally!!!:yay:

Blast from the past...

Our AK day from 2007, Christmas Day!!

We chose AK because we thought it would be the least crowded early in the day....and it was a ghostown for first couple of hours but it picked up rather nicely...

We were there right when Camp Mickey/Minnie was suppose to start having characters and we were the first in all of the lines, and in some cases, the characters were out of their hut waiting for people to see them!

As we were leavnig that area to explore more of the park. A CM approached and started to explain the Year of Million Dreams promotion that was going on. The whole time this guy was talking, all I could think about was when we at CRT, there was a family eating at the same time that had won the night in Cinderella's Suite....(how cool would THAT be:worship:) Anyway...we did not win the night in the Suite, but we each were given Dream Fastpasses for the rides at AK!!! It was pretty cool....

THe first one we utilized was It's Tough to Be a Bug....with the then 5 year old DD....went pretty good until Hopper showed up and fumigated the room...DD jumps, screams and 3D glasses go flying. Give her mine for the rest of the show. She really liked it before all that went down, and then the bugs that "run" under you at the end freaked her out all over again. However, she is excited to do it again, but REALLY wants DS to try it this time....
What a mean big sis:rotfl:

We were able to use the DFP has much as a non thrill riding family with two young kids that can't ride anything, could. The wife almost did EE, and of course is mad that she didnt do it at the time, but she doesnt like riding things by herself. I think that the girls will ride it this time around though!!

Didn't stay here too terribly long, we still had a full pass left that hadnt used any of the attractions on it yet, so we decided to give it someone that would get some use out of it. That was a little harder than I thought it would be, probably took about 5 people or so to hear us out and tell them what it was. But, I do understand that its hard to know what a complete stranger is up to that is trying to give you something....but it eventually worked out when we were able to hand it over to a family with a couple of kids that were older and seemed like they would ride the things that were on the DFP...

Pretty sure we went back to POP! rested, swam and then went back out to the parks and went to DHS(MGM then...) to see Osborne lights....phenominal. If you havent been, you HAVE to go at least once....

We then left there and checked out the crazy Christmas night at MK...were able to Aladdins carpet, Swiss Famliy Treehouse and the Jungle Cruise, but the highlight of that night was just simply this....
