I try not to advertise for anything, however; WOW this is a fantastic App. Ya Gotta Get This Thing!!!
:thumbsup2
I gotta tell ya! I never thought I’d like a Smart Phone or tablet computer thingy but DH went and got an iPad this weekend. I have discovered the MDE app and love it. We are moving into the modern age following WDW with the MDE stuff. I called the Website support at Disney and they helped me setup all the accounts including connecting my DVC accounts.

But WOW!!! I found an app that does what I have been doing by hand or with a clunky spreadsheet for years. It is a DVC Point Calculator for iPad and I’m sure it will work on the iPhone.

D Point. It is amazing! The most amazing part is the tool called Point Maximizer. The Point Maximizer literally provides you a very quick list of all DVC resorts and the number of points needed for the same type of room that you chose for your preferred resort. It tells you the number of points you would need in the other resorts and the +/- difference in points needed. This is great when you are trying to save points for banking into the following year.

Cool, thanks!

It sounds like you have multiple contracts? It would be great if we could keep track of all of our contracts and 3 different UYs on there. I bet we can't though.

OH YES WE CAN! The app has a place to inter each home resort and the number of points for each. We have 3 home resorts, 3 contract numbers and two member numbers. The contract numbers part isn't working as well as I'd like but the developer said he was going to work on that part. We don't need thoughs numbers in there anyways. The page to enter the home resorts with number of points works great.

I created my own spreadsheet that handles my three contracts. It works well.

I have the app on the ipad but I don't see where to link my DVC account. How is this done?

Go to the Point Tracking page and hit Contracts button at the bottom of the page on the right.
To add you account number (doesn't actually link to your account) hit the My I.D. button at the top right.

I'm confused. What is the EXACT name of the app (read: search for) in the App Store that you guys are talking about? Sorry for seeming stupid but I Can't exactly tell.

D-Point has been out for a while. Use it and love it. My Disney Experience is not new but it is basically in its current re-incarnation. Been using it for a while and generally like it but it's got a ways to go, IMO. The good news is they're working on it.

It just sounded like the OP was talking about an app that did MDE AND DVC. I don't know of such an app but would love to see one.

Thanks.

How can you link your DVC account to the "My Disney Experience" app?

I have linked my DVC bookings in there, but I thought I read somewhere in the description that it would also manage DVC accounts.

is the D Point app through a Disney run thing?
I'm not sure I'm comfortable linking my disney contracts into a non disney based app....

thanks for the info though.

I got to follow this thread.........I've been using MDE since it came out, and Other than linking to reservations, I've never seen any point management utility in it. I hope to learn something here.

They aren't linking to your real DVC account. No way. It's just for them to track internally inside the app.

That's the confusion I saw when I posted. MDE has no point management and is issued by Disney. D-Points is a third party provider that has a great app but no link to Disney (or DVC) at all. the two are essentially totally unrelated. The initial post was not written very clearly, hence, the confusion IMO. No offense intended to anyone.

I am very confused:confused3. I have a iPad and iPhone, can manage them because as I say "apple makes it easy" but all the apps etc. just not tech savy. So what is the recommendation for Disney apps? I do agree, I would be more trusting of a Disney app vs third party, but open to what I can do with all of it.

You don't have to actually put in your account number as it doesn't do anything beyond helping you plan. You input your home resort(s), UY, points, and it'll show you how many points for each resort (beginning with your own at the 11 month mark). You can use this app to check to see where else you may possibly use your points at another resort, without having to go back and forth between multiple point charts. You do have to pay extra for the point comparison part of the app.

It's like taking the information from Davids and putting it all in an easier to use format.... forget about using DVC's point charts- takes too long to go back and forth between each resort and season.

I've seen where people wished that while booking a villa, we had the option to compare points at multiple resorts ex: I have 52 points and want to stay 4 nights, which resorts can I maximize my point usage in a studio. Right now, the site shows the closest option (SSR and OKW show up together in a search, MK resort results show up in yet another search... takes time and time can mean a lost reservation).
