finally found the paintbrush at tom sawyers island

actually we found it quite by accident. we decided to take a break at aunt pollys for a bit of rest during a typical july hot disney afternoon. i was sitting down and my son comes by and asks me what is that brush doing up in the rafters overhead. i stood up and looked around because i didnt want to take the oportunity for a younger child to find it, so i told him to take it to a cm. he was a bit embarassed,a typical 15yr old male, to ask but when he was told he would get a fastpass he was very excited. our fastapsses for SplM were hours away and the stand by lines were enormus!!!! well we went on SplM and had a blast. that ride is our special place. its kind of funny to hear him sometimes hum the tune from the ride.

the splash mt song always takes me back to wdw. Good find well worth it.

I had read that these are usually gone in early am 'cause some people know about them and head right to Tom's Island to get a paintbrush. Maybe I was mistaken, but I thought it gave you fastpasses for the whole day.?

Everyday on Tom Sawyers Island there are (i think) 5 paintbrushes that can be anywhere. If you find one, turn it into the CM and you get a "go to the head of the line" card for either Splash Mountain or Thunder Mountain.

We found it for the first time ever this trip. I knew about it from the boards. They give you a fastpass for either Splash Mountain or BTMR. Just be careful - we found the paintbrush and the kids were really excited. We were walking back to the raft and dd turned white as a ghost, turned around the flew back to us. She had seen a big black snake! Now I know they are everywhere in Floriday, I just don't like running into one. All I could think of was what if when I was putting my hand in the bush to get the paintbrush, the snake had been there.

We went to Tom Sawyers island, I had the nieces and nephews all fired up for looking for the brushes and the cm at aunt polly's said they had stopped doing that!

The kids were so disappointed! as was I . I had really talked this up!!

We were just there and found the paintbrush. Actually we saw about three of them, they weren't hidden in very out of the way spots. It was the first week of July. Although after the snake episode I don't think dd's will ever go back to TSI again!
