But the shorter one I did is just enough to keep "others" interested & not bored. KWIM?
I know exactly what you mean. I had just a little twinge of guilt making our extended family sit through the full hour. That doesn't mean I didn't do it, but I did feel that twinge. :rotfl2:

I can't wait to watch these videos! I want to do something like this with my pictures from our last trip. I'm still working on the IRL paper scrapbook of my son's first trip and I'm thinking digital is the way to go for our subsequent trips! Thanks for posting -- I'm off to watch your videos!

Oh yeah -- why did someone have to post that Wishes picture? It is stunning! Now I'll have to drag my tripod with me next time and I know I stilll won't get a shot that good. WOW.

Thanks for sharing thses great videos.

I have been working on my 2005 video in MovieMaker but just bought Pinnacle Gold and have been playing with that one getting ready for the Christmas trip.. Now that I know about GoogleVideo I will share mine when they are complete..

Wow! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I hadn't found Google Video until your post. They'll take any size video free and provide you a link to share it.

Here's the full-length video (all 485 MB of it) courtsey of Google...

Dave, Paul and Anna's 2006 Disney Trip Video

Your welcome. I do have a question though - when you saved it as a WMV, what option did you choose? It looks like the original source based on how it looks was 320x200. I could be wrong based on the way google saves it. I'd use the 'High Quality' save setting and save it to 720x480. Yes, the file you upload to google will be much larger but I think the final product will be much cleaner.

Of course, I could be wrong, so feel free to ignore me to. :)

I used the "High Quality NTSC" setting, which is 640 X 480, 16 bit stereo. I was surprised it didn't look a little better than it did, too. I'm spoiled by watching it on the DVD. I guess I could have used one of the HDV or HD settings for the WMV, but can't imagine the size at those settings.

Even at 640 x 480, it's still a 480+ MB file. I started the generation when I left for work, and it finished shortly after I got home. Then, it took several hours to upload. (I'm not sure exactly how long, because it was still going when I went up to bed.) I also figured it had to be somewhat managable to fit on people's computers when they want to watch it.

Dave - I thoroughly enjoyed watching your video. I thought you did a great job of editing it - it must have taken a long time! Thanks for posting it. Barrie

I've never been particularly pleased with Pinnacle's video compression/editing abilities. I only use Pinnacle to capture video, which it appears to do quite well. I use Ulead's Video Studio for all my editing work. Maybe it's just preference, but I seem to have more control over the final product. It might be worth downloading a trial copy, saving your video as an AVI and importing and compressing with Ulead. This is the video I uploaded for my church as a test: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4365921782907695892&hl=en
