OK, so now we had the closing on 11/19/08. What happens next...:confused3 ?This was a VERY long wait for us...felt like forever:worship: Took approximately 2 months from start to finish...closing date. But, we weren't in a RUSH to book another vacation, as we started to inquire about DVC upon our return for our trip. We found the ideal contract thru resale and went for it! :thumbsup2

Now...we cannot wait to start making plans for our first official visit 'home':cool1:

What company did you go through for the resale? Would you recommend them or not? We are looking and have heard pros and cons about many companies.

Actually, I know if feels like forever, but we have purchased 3 contracts, and all three took about 2 - 2 1/2 months. I know some go through much quicker, but so much of it depends on how quickly sellers get information back to the brokers, how long Dis takes on ROFR, etc. If the stars align, it can happen really quickly, but otherwise, that seems to be the norm.

As for what is next...planning! ;) In about 7 - 10 days, your information will be in Disney's system. At this point, you'll be able to call and book a vacation, bank your points, etc. In the next few days, I would call them and have them walk you through getting onto the website. It's not the most high tech, but it's got good info on it, and some good planning tools. You can also see your points, and can bank on-line. The only thing we received from Disney was a vacation guide (basically a book that tells you points for each DVC location, cruise info, concierge/II trading information, etc.). In about 6 weeks, we received our member cards. They look like blue credit cards with your member ID number and the date the original member joined.

That's it in a nutshell! By the way........

Congrats on the great purchase!!

Isn't it exciting to know you are within days of being able to log on to the member website and see proof that those points are really yours??!!

We just went thru the resale process Sept/Oct and I already have 2 trips booked for next year!:rotfl:

Happy planning...for YEARS to come  :cloud9:  :cloud9:

We used GMAC Intl. Two months was a long wait....but sometimes this is out of the brokers control. The seller was late in submitting their paperwork on both occassions. ROFR was waived....yeah!!! You got to be real patient to make this work.
