Finally dvc owners!!!! Now need advice!

After looking at, and dreaming of DVC for several years, we finally did it! We are new owners at OKW!!!
We can't wait to plan our first trip for 2012, and host my family for my parent's 40th wedding anniversary!



My parents have never been able to take all of their children to Disney at one time (there are 8 of us and we went in "shifts" through the years) and it has always been my Mom's dream . If everyone can make it, there will be 29 of us!


We are planning to stay at OKW and I'm thinking of requesting to be near the hospitality house (there will be 14 kids and being closer to pool, restaurant, and bus is a MUST), booking a grand gathering breakfast at MK (is Mickey at this meal for photos and autographs?), and ordering groceries to be delivered from garden grocers (do they deliver to the room, or do we pick up at the front?)


If anyone has other suggestions or advice for us please share!!!

mickey is not at Cindy's castle or the crystal restuarant (that is winne pool and friends)

not certain about liberty tavern

he is definitely at chef mickeys but that is at CR not the mk.

for your party might go with south point - since your family might be able to take over one of the their smaller building.

with the bigger buildings near HH - that would not be possible.

We just did a grand gathering, and had a GV at OKW...we had such a good time, that we've made an offer on a OKW resale. We did a grand gathering at Tony's in the MK...but Mickey wasn't one of the 4 characters. Was a wonderful breakfast though.

Tony's was the grand gathering meal we were hoping to go to! What characters were at this meal?

We've done LOTS of character meals, but for this trip it may be our only one.

29 people...wow...that's a lot of points!

Depending on when you will be going, there may be some special events to attend. Fantastic or a Wishes dessert party might be fun.

Congratulations! My only advice is to make sure everyone realizes they are not connected at the hip and can break away from the crowd and meet up and still have a family time..29 en masse would be really hard to pull off.

We've only used Garden Grocer once before, and they delivered to Bell Services, who then brought the groceries to us. Perhaps others have had a difference experience and will weigh in for you.

As others have said, Mickey isn't really found at meals at the MK, though possibly Liberty Tree Tavern - but I only remember Minnie, Pluto and Chip & Dale from our last character meal there. You can find Mickey at both Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary and at O'Hana Best Friends Breakfast at the Polynesian.

Good luck with your DVC offer...maybe we'll see you at OKW sometime! And I'm very happy to hear Mickey and Minnie are at Tony's. I think it will be a great plan to do a grand gathering here.......if the planets align and all works out!
