Finally did the platinum plan! Did and ate everything we wanted! WHAT'S NEXT???

This was fantastic! How smart you were to do the platinum plan the way you did! Your son's photography is excellent!:thumbsup2

Thanks for your report and great pictures :thumbsup2. I really think my friend and I will plan a one night premium/platinum stay as part of our next trip. I don't think my DH could keep up with the pace, so I'll save it for when I go with my friend :rotfl2:.

A "Girls" only trip sounds awesome :cool1: If I were you, planning this girlfriends trip, I would indulge with the Platinum Plan. :cloud9:

Thank you. I will let my son knows that "the camera" I bought him did a wonderful job...:rolleyes1

What a wonderful TR. Glad you had such a great time. A few questions...

1. I have a DSLR camera, I noticed you mentioned you didn't want to carry the bag with you on the Segways, but could I carry just my camera? Is there time to take pics?

2. I love the pics of the food, do you know the settings of the camera for those pics?

Enjoyed your TR and can't wait for our 3 days of Premium, this has made me even more excited. January please get here soon!:goodvibes

Thank you. We really enjoyed this trip!
I only have answer to Q#1. There's a little pouch on the Segway 2X for your belongings. My husband & son's DSLRs were too big to fit inside. The pouch is about the size of a knapsack and semi-hard shelled. They both have the canon 5D's w/long lenses. I would suggest bringing another point and shoot camera for this occasion. We stopped at a clearing near the shore of Bay Lake over looking Space Mountain and CR for photo op's. We did managed to take a few with our cell phone camera :thumbsup2
As for Q#2, I will get back to you later..:rolleyes1

That was an excellent trip report! The pics were amazing your son is very good at that!!! I have a 7day platinum plan trip planned for Thanksgiving week 2011 and CANNOT wait!! My plan is to stay at our DVC place 2 nights before the trip will begin and then stay another 2 nights after the trip. So we'll have 6 nights on the platinum plan so we'll be able to fit it all in.

Thanks for all the good hints! I've only done this once before and it was then called the premium plan there was no platinum plan available and at the time I did the plan gratuities were included!!

Anyway thanks again!

~Nannette

Well thank you, Nannette! I am so jealous that you are going with 7-day Platinum Plan. We are planning to go with 2 day Platinum May 2011. Since my son is a freshman in College, he finishes the year by mid-May(hopefully, the weather will be more tolerable than July/August) I will try to sneak these 2 days in when La Nouba is dark; I sure hope that WDW would honor guests with gift cards in lieu of show tickets if there's no showing on dates of the plan.

I'm really enjoying your posts. Haven't seen anyone else ever sign in/out of plans during a visit b4. Quite interesting. Your pictures are fantastic. Looking forward to your TR continuation. :surfweb:

Glad that you're joining in. I have done split reservations before, but 4 reservation within a week was a first for us. As long as that your reservations are of the same room type, they would have zero problem assigning the same room to you. I wish that someday, WDW can figure out a way for guests to reuse the same KTTW for different plan/dates. :wizard:

Thanks for the info. Their camera's are a lot nicer than mine, but I hope to upgrade to one of those once I get a full understanding of the SLR.

Our girls only Premium one nighter was super fantastic but you have us convinced we are going back next June or July... AND WE ARE GOING PLATINUM!!!! Thanks for sharing!

2. I love the pics of the food, do you know the settings of the camera for those pics?

I have finally got you some answer from my son, here's his reply to your Q#2: "Most of the pictures were taken in "Aperture Priority Mode" and with the ISO adjusted so that the shutter speed was at least 1/50 sec. Also the aperture was usually kept at the largest [i.e. f/4], except when using flash. When using flash I used "Manual Mode" and kept the shutter speed at 1/80 sec, and adjusted the aperture and ISO to keep the exposure correct."

Well there you go, I personally have NO idea what he meant, but I bet you that photography people would know the lingual. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much and thank your son also, might have to start practicing now so I will have it down for our January trip.:lmao:

Thank you all for reading my report. I am in the process of planning our next trip. This time I only have 8 or 9 months to plan. I will keep you posted. Maybe start a PTR, :goodvibes

I loved your awesome report! Now, you've got me wanting to do one night of the Platinum Plan on our upcoming trip. My dumb question is how many meal credits do you get with the Platinum Plan? It doesn't seem to be as clear to me as the other plans. You're sons pictures were absolutely amazing!:thumbsup2
