Hehe, don't you hate when you get all cute to go out, and then like 5 minutes after you walk out the door, you look awful again? Stupid wind! :rotfl:

Sorry for the delay, folks! My Flickr Pro account expired, and I lost access to all my pics for a while, but it is back! Hoping to finish this up within the next week or so, thanks for your patience! <3

I *FINALLY* just found the notebook with notes from this trip, so I will be posting a wrap-up within the next day or two to finally end this sucker after eleventy billion years!

The FINAL morning of this trip! Which happened back in 2007! Let's do the time warp again! :cool1:

There's not all that much to report about the last morning of my trip. It was a lot like every last morning of a vacation, where you're not really ready to leave, you want to hang on to the feeling of this place, but you know your time is up.

But it was totally different because for the first time, I knew I'd be back SOON, and I'd be back to stay. THAT was pretty cool.

I called up Bell Services, and they said it would be about half an hour before someone could be up to help with my luggage. I was planning to check it in at the resort airline check-in, but with two ginormous suitcases and my two carry-ons, there's no way I was going to make it down to the lobby alone!

The line for airline check-in was HUGE! I waited just over half an hour to check my bags and get my boarding passes.

Can I go all concierge on you guys and share some knowledge here?

Resort airline check-in is awesome. They will check your bags for most airlines (I think there were 11 participating airlines), print your boarding passes, and send you on your way so that you don't have to deal with any of that stuff at the airport- you can just sit around the Disney store and cry and hand over whatever's left in your wallet for various Mickey paraphanelia.

If you are NOT checking bags, or are flying an airline like Southwest where you need to check in 24hrs in advance to avoid sitting in Seats of Doom, your friendly neighborhood Resort Concierge can help you out. However, you have to be within your 24 hours and no, you can not just leave your confirmation number with them and come back later. Because if they break the rules and do this for you, 9 times out of 10 something will come up and they will totally miss your time, and you will get stuck in the B group anyway. Not that I speak from experience or anything.

Speaking of which, if you go to your friendly neighborhood concierge to get your boarding passes-- BRING YOUR CONFIRMATION INFO! As lovely and dazzling and fantastically knowledgeable as these people are, they are not psychic and do not work for the airlines. They can not pull up your flight info by just your resort ID. They can tell you what day you leave the resort, and on a good day, what time your Magical Express is. That's it, sorry. So pleeeeease, bring your confirmation info! It will save you from saying mean things to them when they tell you that you are going to have to walk back to your room and get it. Not that a zillion people a day do this or anything.

Anyway! I had a little bit of time to kill before my DME bus, so I decided to hit a park. What I really wanted to do was go to the Wilderness Lodge to procure one of their awesome brownies and sit around and write, but there was just no time for a bus from POR to MK, boat to WL, and then boat back to MK and bus back to POR. The Epcot bus pulled up, so I hopped on that one, and had just enough time to go hang out in The Seas.

Happy late b-day, Eppycot!

Spaceships Earth are grown in this top-secret field, where they live until they are mature enough to be stuck in theme parks.

Ooooh, artsy-fartsy!

Cuttlefish are awesome.

And so it was time to head back and take the DME back to the airport. On the bus, I popped in my iPod earbuds and listened to sad music, feeling like I was in some kind of movie and it was my soudntrack.

Leaving felt WRONG, even though I knew I'd be right back. The last note in my notebook from this trip actually says "I have no doubt that FL will be good for me. And now is the time."

So as we all know by now, I went home, packed up, and was back as a cast member/resident just over a month later. And now here we are, an incredibly hard but incredibly rewarding almost three years later, finally finishing up this story!

Loved all your TRs, this one too of course, and I hope you write more about your CM experience! :)

Woo hoo! Great TR! But aren't you glad that you can cross something off your "to do" list?!
