Part Eight Zillion, Nov 1, 2007!
I have to apologize in advance for the reportyness about this day. I haven't ever been able to find the notebook I took trip report notes in (actually, I think I did triumphantly find it a year or so ago, get all excited, and then promptly lose it again.), so I only have my photos from these last couple of days to go by. Judging from the photos I have from Nov 1, I wandered around Epcot. This would be much easier to write about if I ddin't currently live five minutes from Epcot and get in free, which means I have wandered around Epcot approximately 28492874 times since this one particular time I am now writing about. So hey! Let me just distract you with pretty pictures, and we can ignore the fact that I have NO IDEA what I am talking about here? Ok? (Don't worry, I DO have some actual memories of Nov 2!)
My first order of the day was checking out of the Beach Club Villas, since I would be moving over to PO-R today.
Bye, BCV! See ya... well, in 2 months when I end up sitting around in the Drawing Room reading a lot because my new apartment has no furniture or TV!
I wasn't in any particular hurry to get anywhere, so after having my luggage picked up to be sent over to my new resort home, I decided to wander around the Boardwalk area for a while. (Oh man, I now wander around there as much as I wander Epcot, if not more!)
Since the night before was Halloween, there was a fun display of entries to the cast Pumpkin Carving Contest set up at the Boardwalk. A few of my favorites:
Okay, maybe not so much "carving" in this particular case...
PIRATE theme, for the win! It's like they knew about the theme of my trip or something!
Elephant over the BW fireplace = cool, but little chair with a face in the lower left = creepy!
Oooh, Boardwalky!
Okay, I will admit that I am having trouble figuring out which photos to even stick in here! I see this stuff all the time, so I don't find it as fascinating to see in photos now, but I am guessing that I found it interesting when I took the photos, so maybe you will, too? I'm kinda lost here!
Hey look, soup!
Ah, yes, eventually I completed my Boardwalk wanderings, and instead made my way into Epcot because HELLO, it is Food and Wine Festival, why WOULDN'T I be in Epcot? (Now THAT still holds true today!) One of the beautiful things about Food & Wine fest is that you can get the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier, without having to work miracles and get a reservation for the restaurant! SCORE! (The sad news, if you are wondering, is that no, cast members don't get discounts on F&W yummy things.)
YAY for Canada, land of good soup!
After my yummy cheese soup break, I made my way over to Mexico:
If you kinda squint, you can see that this store is named after me!
...and on to China, where I stopped to admire the detail in the roof designs:
Even though it was just Nov 1, Christmas decorations had already started to pop up overnight!
In the mood for something sweet to follow up my soup, I stopped in Japan for a Kaki Gori, which I enjoyed back in the little Japanese garden near the quick service restaurant.
Rainbow is the very best flavor!
These used to be $2.25, but I recently noticed they have gone up to like $3.75, but also seem to be bigger. This makes me kind of sad, because at $2.25, it was one of the few Disney treats I could enjoy with very little financial guilt, and gheez, I could barely finish one as it was, there was no need to make it bigger!!!
After some more wandering around that I am sure was terribly exciting, I stopped at Ice Station Cool for some Vegibeta!
I just realized the other reason why I'm having so much harder a time than usual writing about this day! Normally, I look through ALL of my photos of the day I am writing about. Even though 60% of them aren't worth posting, they remind me of what went on. For this trip, I only hav what I uploaded to Flickr, because my laptop that had all of my pics on it was stolen in 2008. (I miss you, Lappytop!) So sorry again, I'm doing my best to piece it all together for the sake of wrapping up the story instead of leaving it all hanging!
Eventually, I went over to PO-R to check in, where I got a room! In... a building! In what I am guessing was the mansions section!
I have NO pictures from this one until I went back to Epcot that night for Illuminations, so I am guessing I crashed on the bed and watched Ellen again or something. Feel free to make up whatever story you want about how I spent my afternoon, just make it interesting!
Hey look, we are back at Epcot! And it now appears to be nighttime!
(How many of you are now totally regretting those "Oh, you are an awesome trip reporter!!" comments from way back in this thread? Show of hands??)
OMG, Disney World EXPLODED!!! Or, there were fireworks happening.
Illuminations is pretty, this is just a fact of life.
After the fireworks, I had two options. I could either walk ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way back up to the front of the park, and wait with the masses for my bus back to PO-R, or I could cross the little bridge to the Boardwalk and hop on a bus to Downtown Disney to pop into the Adv Club before bed.
Three guesses what I did!
I must not have stayed long at the Club, because I have no photos, and I'm guessing I was in major need of some sleep by now! Don't worry though, we still have one full day of trip report left, and it DOES conclude with an adventure-filled night!!
