Hi again, everyone!
Im FINALLY posting more! YAY! Thank you so much for being patient with me (or at least pretending to be!) while Ive been so busy with moving stuff, and dealing with LifeWithNoSpaceKey!
Eight million years ago, when I last posted, I had just checked in to OKW, and was getting ready for MNSSHP that night!
I have a confession: I was a lazy bum today. After spending almost an hour getting my internet, I gave in to the allure of sloth, and sat around for like 4 hours. I watched TV, read, internetted.. Life was good!
I started getting ready around 5, since Katie and Sherice were supposed to be arriving about 6, and theres a lesson in Disney Math Im sure you girls know: 3 Women + 1 Bathroom + special event to get ready for = AHHHH! So I wanted to get mostly ready before they got there, so they could have more room for getting ready.
Once I spread out all of my Halloween stuff- costume, goodie bags for DISers, etc, the room was a MESS! The stuff took up the bed I wasnt using to sleep in, the kitchen cabinet, the bathroom cabinet, and the table. It looked like a tornado hit OKW!
I had a grand plan to document my transformation into a pirate, but I ended up slacking seriously. Heres the Before photo, at least:
Ya know, since you all havent seen *enough* non-pirate pics of me so far.
I have never been happier for my friends to be late. Becoming a pirate takes lots of time!!! I added hair extensions, which took my hair from being past my shoulders to now reaching halfway down my back, because I feel more piratey with long hair, and also had a lot of hair pieces that I clipped in- braids, pieces with coins and beads attached, etc. On top of all that went a head scarf and flower tucked behind my ear, and I decided to skip the coin headpiece tonight because I knew Id lose it at Magic Kingdom, and my head was already heavy enough!
I basically did the same makeup Id do for a dance performance- heavy black eyeliner and shadow, shimmery white under the brows, etc. I thought about doing something fancier, but I knew it would just sweat off!
I was a little worried that my costume would be hot- you may recall that my shirt was made out of a sheet, which did NOT breathe at all! Plus the corset was corduroy- hot! The pants I wasnt worried about- they survived the summer that the AC in our dance studio broke, so they can do anything! To be safe, I stuck a black tank top in my bag, just in case I wanted to change at the party.
Katie and Sherice showed up around 6:45, and became pirates, too!
While we were getting ready, I declared myself Captain, Sherice became our Gunman, and Katie well, Katie is our Skipper. Behold, the crew of the good ship Llama Llama Duck!
I think its funny that despite no planning as a group, we all ended up in red, black, and white, with stripes.
I had a set of light-up rings that Id bought for Kelly & I, but since Kelly didnt make it, I gave the other one to Katie. They were a source of both amusement and frustration! (We are distracted by shiny things! Pretttty! But they were also bulky and odd-fitting).
We took Katies car to the TTC, to avoid spending eight thousand years on the OKW bus system, and then the monorail to the park:
On the monorail, someone volunteered to take a group pic--
Note that my corset is already coming untied! OOPS! This I just foreshadowing .
This is the only picture where you can see my pirate tattoo! (and my mad monorail pole dancing skillz!)
What, pirates travel by monorail all the time! (For Katie: Ill see her standing by the monorail! She looks the same except for bionic eyes she lost the real ones in the robot wars )
Gunman of the Llama Llama Duck, ready for action!
I had some very basic goals for MNSSHP:
1) Boo To You Parade
2) Hallowishes
3) Photos of the park all Halloweened up
4) Photos with the characters in costume
5) Haunted Mansion!
Well, I managed 2/5! FAIL!
We got there just after 8, and the first parade was at 8:15, so we decided to catch it first thing. We found a spot in Frontierland- sadly our spot was right by the line for popcorn, so people kept thinking we were in line. Oops!
I decided to skip taking photos and video of the parade, so I could actually *watch* it. I couldnt resist this one, though:
And this
I found you some youtube clips of the best stuff:

(aggh, I loooove the ghostly choreography! LOVE. Ideas forming for own performance )

After the parade, we dashed over to Pirates- yay! I wanted to stop back later in the night to take pics in pirate costume in the line, but we never got to it! Doh!
We did have some fun in the gift shop after the ride, though!
This pic turned out very dark, but Im examining a telescope, with a slight Capt Jack flair.
Katie seems to have mixed feelings about this sword?
This is my crew?? (I bought those handcuffs and tied them to my belt to complete the costume!)
(And you can see Katies ring here!)
YAY for pirates! Yes, pirates have become a cliché now that theyre so popular, and we saw eight million other people dressed as pirates tonight, but it was still fun! And we were, of course, the most awesome pirates there! (Hey, Disney! Can I be a pirate wench in next years parade?)
These ladies, however, were WAY more awesome than us (We saw them on the Pirate ride, and basically stalked them to get a picture) :
(The latter is what happens when the person you ask to take the picture is not very happy about it . He had a cigarette when we approached him, but sadly he put it out for the picture. It would have been so much funnier with!)
Our next stop was the Haunted Mansion. I loooooved the updates theyve done! Very cool!
This was a cool photo in theory! In execution, not so much.
We were just getting off of the Haunted Mansion when the fireworks started- doh! That was one of the main things I wanted to see, I cant believe I overlooked getting a good spot early enough! Oh well, theres always next year
We ended up watching from Fantasyland near Peter Pan.
If youre watching fireworks from Fantasyland- BEWARE the falling ash! Katie and I both ended up with very painful stuff falling into our eyes! I wouldnt suggest watching from Fantasyland, anyway, though, because you miss pretty much everything!
By now, Katie and Sherice were starving, so we stopped in Cosmic Rays for fooooood. (Im pretty sure Katie had chicken nuggets. Again. Feel free to mock her!) There was a dance party going on with Stitch dressed as Elvis- I tried to get pics, but they all turned out funky! The best part, though, was a random Cosmic Rays CM who danced along to the ENTIRE show, from the back of the restaurant, very enthusiastically. He must have seen it many, many times, because he knew the whole thing!
After food, we went to ride Buzz Lightyear. Does anyone remember January when Katie and I got stuck in the tunnel with the video that plays around you, and became Galactic Heroes?
IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
We got stuck in the very same spot!!!
Katie: Glowing Red Child of the Devil
Photo we were too cheap to buy
Lines were fairly short, so we did Snow White, Peter Pan, Pooh, and Philharmagic, all within a fairly short time span. In reality, people watching was WAY more fun than any ride- we saw so many awesome costumes, and just being in a park surrounded by random characters is hilarious! And more than a little surreal!
We stayed until the park closed at midnight, but then as we were walking across the parking lot to the car, my shirt *fell apart*!!! This is what I get for making my own costume- nearly flashing the entire Magic Kingdom!
The shirt was a chemise, which means its actually a HUGE shirt, but the drawstring around the neck gathers it up so that it looks more fitted. Well, my drawstring snapped! Hello there, these are my ****s. Happy Halloween!! I had to hold my shirt together in the front until we got back into the room. Thank goodness it waited until the END of the night to break, or I would have been screwed!
Katie dropped me off back at the resort, then dropped Sherice off where she was staying. We were tired pirates!
We still have the 29th-3rd to go! Think I can write it all in a week???
