Yipee! I was getting very down about this! I am so glad to report that I have lost my 1st 5 lbs! The 1st of many more to go! LOL I am doing Atkins, and WATP 5-6 times a week 3 miles each time. Everyone I know tells me not to get down, that I am making myself healthy. But it is dishearting to see some of you have lost twice this much in the same time period. But I am trying to keep my spirits up.

Congratulations dzneprincess!! Just keep doing what you are doing and the pounds will start flying off! :Pinkbounc

Congratulations! I'm there with you! I have lost 7.4 lbs on WW since starting WISH and I have lost 14.4 in total!:D I goofed earlier in my calculations of how much I've lost since starting WISH.

Since I've gotten serious, it's been since the end of July. To read my trials and tribulations of how long it took me to lose the other 7 or so, find the "WW member needing motivation thread."

I really believe reading other people's struggles and successes on WISH regardless of the weight loss program they are on is helping me to stay focused and motivated!!

Onward and downward!!!

Woo Hoo!!! Congrats on getting that 5 pound clippie!! Isn't it exciting?? And just wait - changing clippies because an addictive thing.... soon it will be the 10 pound, then the 15.... You are a GREAT Loser!! Keep it up because...

onward and downward you go!!!!!!!!!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Way to go downward:Pinkbounc

Stay focused & keep going! I also finally hit the 5 mark today, doesn't it feel wonderful, I'm celebrating with crystal light pink lemonade, yum!

Keep in mind that everyone loses weight differently and everyone is on a different program. With that said CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Five pounds in five weeks is the healthiest way to go. I understand how it can be discouraging because it isn't more, but it is still an accomplishment none-the-less!

I haven't read all of your replies, I'm just jumping in here. I can see everyone out there rolling their eyes, too! They know what I'm about to say

Have you measured yourself? Very important thing to do, cutie. Truly it is important. Sometimes when you are losing pounds slowly you are losing inches instead. So measure yourself.

But besides that...you have lost an average of 1 pound a week. That is progress, sweetie. That is success. If you keep this up you will lose 52 pounds in a year. Do you even need to lose that much?

Are you losing weight for life? Do you plan to keep it off once you have lost it? If your answer to this question is "yes" then you are doing it in exactly the right way! Lose it slowly and the weight is more ikely to stay off.

Be proud of yourself, my friend. You are a WISHer and you are a success! I'm sure proud of you. Love that pretty new clippie in your signature, too :)

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I will keep chuga chuging along....I am a big girl, according to the "charts" I should weigh 100lbs! (YEAH RIGHT) THat would mean I need to lose 140 lbs........no way..I will never weigh 100 lbs, my mothers family is top heavy and ny fathers sisters are all bottom heavy! I was destined to be a little round thing! LOL I really would LOVE TO be at 140..so that would be 100lbs UGH Just thinking about it.........So 5 down 95 more to go LOL But really thats just what I would like to be in an ideal world. Realistically. If I could, for short term goal get down to "one"derland it would be amazing! I havent seen that in 10 yrs!..But even that is not really my goal for right now! My true goal for right now, is to do this for a year... I have given all all liquids excpet water ( occassionally I will have a Diet Rite) and I am trying my darndest to Atkins it. Also, I am exersing doing WATP 3 mile 4-6 times a week depending on how I feel. I may try a different eating syle, as I am not sure if Atkins is working for me. But def keep the water and movement for one year. Simple as that, that is my goal, regardless of if I lose weight or not. If after a year, I do not see some changes in my body, well then I give up and will throw in te towel! LOL

nativetxn, unfortunately I did not measure myself before I started this, I do not sew (gasp!) lol and do not have a fabric tape measure. But I am and will be here for a long while, and I am soooooooo glad that you all are here for motivation!

BTW has anyone here succesfully lost weight, not necassarily doing Atkins, but just lo carbing? I am just unsure about giving up these things forever............

Hey, Amanda! You are where I was seven months ago. At the end of December, I had decided to lose some weight, and I joined and lurked on a "walkers" email ring. Daily doses of "encouragement". A month later, I had lost 2 pounds, while everyone else was celebrating, I had lost 2 pounds. :( Along comes Kelsie-oh Kelsie! Where are you?- with the WISH challenge. I actually started it before I officially signed up, but with the daily encouragement of my friends here-and some posting myself, I DID it! Well....I mean, I'm halfway there! (I started at 242/240 on WISH). My mantra? Eating healthy all day long! I track on Fitday and I do, literally, plan to eat something every hour or two! :teeth: Fitday has helped me to watch my carbs, proteins and fat consumption, and when I added Curves and the Walk Away the Pounds tapes, my new life was foremost on my mind. There is no way that I could give up my carbs. Kudos to those that can, but fresh bread, popcorn and my fruits. . . . Anyway, whatever you decide, you can do it. A change in plan may be what your body needs, but I really like that you are determined to drink your water and keep moving.

Weigh to GO!

WOW Debbie! Great job! I love hearing success stories! If you dont mind sharing, what is your way of eating? How or what limits do you put on yourself per day? IE carb grams, fat grams calories? Hpw does this work for you?

Amanda, being big (for now) has it's advantages! lol On Fitday , you can see how many calories a sedentary, moderate, active living lifestyle needs at your weight. I choose to eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day. I know some people go a whole lot lower-and see results a whole lot faster-, but this has worked for me. I try not to have more than 30% fat, at least 51 g of protein, and then my fav. :p It usually works out to @ 20% protein and 50% carbs. Not set in stone by any means, but a guide for me to aim for. Hope that helps! I'm off to see what I wrote down that I haven't eaten yet! LOL!!

Congrats on your loss. Weight lost slowly usually stays off longer, so hang in there. I admired your determination!:D

Thank you faith! I appreciate the encouragement! Lord knows I need it! LOL

Thank you beanie............Yum BEANS..............(ala Homer Simpson! ) tee hee

Losing a lb a week is great, slow is better for long-term.
Since March when I started atkins, it's been about a 1 lb loss/per week sometimes 0. But I didn't exercise much, 1/wk if that and I cheated. Though I've lost 12 I wanted it to be more. This week I lost 3 and I know it is because I exercised 4 times and I did not cheat at all. Try to stick with it and track every little bit of carbs and exercise, exercise, exercise. I have to also thank my new wish friends for the constant motivation, I think about them and know that we are all in this together:D
