FINALLY...a trip report-WE ARE HERE!!! :)

Oh, Oh, Oh!!!! I want a badge!!!! :cool1::banana::worship:

I will wait until he sets up and see if he minds if I take some pics and post them on here! It sure is a BIG travel trailer! I couldn't believe how long it is!?! It is in very good condition on the outside, so shiny and new looking!

Well, gotta go to the pool and snoop around so I can earn my badge! I will post pics of our day later and maybe of the cool trailer!:goodvibes

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

And what's this "ask if he minds" business? That's not how it's done! (J/K since Dr. Dan is a member you can extend him this courtesy).

Also, anything new with the golf cart parking area at the Outpost? Is it re-opened, or are they still working on it?

Be careful out there.

The golf cart area at check-in was full of golf carts and I didn't see any construction going on. They are paving the road today so it is still one lane going down.

Roger. We will need a photo of that. And of the golf cart parking near the bus stop. Are the carts parking diagonally now? Is there still just one entrance and exit to the golf cart parking area? Thank you. That is all.

TheFlame; Do I need to make the pics smaller?

You can change the size as you up-load them to photo bucket. underneath the upload button click on more options and select the size you would like the photos to be.

TheFlame; I put up my Dis sign but unfortunately I didn't have time to print them in color.

Thanks for the photos and keep the report coming. I'm suffering from Fort withdraw

Hello, The Flame, I have a question for you. When you checked in you said that Disney offered you a site in the 200 loop and you asked for the 100 instead...any special reason?
I ask because we will be there soon and we are getting preferred. I'm assuming that would be 100-300. We have no pets. We just have an almost
30' 5'er that we have trouble backing in as we are new to Rving.

They opened up the renovated golf cart area yesterday, I think, maybe Sunday. Time runs together after a few days. It's still the same entrance/exit. The parking is on the slant and there is now a center divider. When you enter and bear to the right, you can park on the left (against the center divider) or park on the right (against the bus road). It goes up to the loading area for the buses and you U-turn around the large tree and come back on the other side of the divider and this has parking on left and right side also. So essentially there are now 4 rows of golf carts parked. They were moving some of the fencing over the weekend to expand the entrance and the side near the horses.

Hope this makes sense.

They are also closing off some of the entrances in the large overflow lot. They are putting up posts so you cannot get in. So far they have closed off the first one on the left as soon as you pull off the main road. They have also closed the first one on the left after you make the left turn that leads to the kennel area (the route that buses take). I was in the lobby picking up a UPS delivery and I asked one of the "suits" what they were doing. It was a very young guy and he didn't have a clue but mentioned that possibly they were trying to control all of the traffic so that everyone would have to enter through the guard shack. :confused3 The only thing I could think of was they are trying to eliminate outsiders from parking in the lot and then catching a bus to the parks inorder to avoid the parking fee. I would think this would cause a problem for people parking there for the HDDR or the campfire. It will be interesting to see if they are going to close all exits and re-open the entrance between the two parking lots. Only time will tell what they are doing.:confused3

Thanks for the update, rapriebe.

That is very interesting about the overflow lot. It sounds like they are trying to control who gets into that lot, and if they are doing what you think they are doing, then the internal dividers in the lot will probably come out. These changes ultimately will not negatively impact registered FW guests, and probably will help with the security of the overflow lot, so I think this is a good thing.

I am really surprised at the amount of work that continues to be done at the Fort: Repaving, parking lot remodeling, the cabin hot tub, etc.

How long will you be at the Fort? I may be stopping by next weekend.

That will also negatively impact outside golf cart rentals. If that is truly what they are doing.

I didn't think about that. You are right. If they wanted to, they could completely shut out outside golf cart rentals. Uh-oh!

This will stop people who don't belong for sure. I knew it was bound to happen because during busy times there's no room in the overflow.

As far as golf cart rental people go you can just add them to your ressie like people do for Tina and I on the camper rentals. Now instead of meeting in the overflow they can go to the site. As long as there's no company info on the truck I don't see a problem.

Wow, what a mess that will be if everybody has to go thru the guard shack to get into the lot. There will be a backup in the evening down to the MK entrance with people trying to get into HDDR. Not to mention the effect it will have on people like me who are staying offsite and want to visit friends at the fort.

I just rode down to the front (had to check in again) and they have only closed the 2 entrances that I mentioned before. There's no sign of any work being done today. Can't see what good that did because there are still at least 3 more entrances that are open near the kennel area. Guess it's just a wait and see on this one.

Thoroughly enjoying this TR!

Do Tee-Time and GCE GCs look like Disney's plain, numbered GCs? When we were there 2 weeks ago, I only saw what looked like Disney carts and several personal, themed carts. I wondered then if Disney had axed the outside vendors.

I believe the ones from the outside vendors are white but I'm not positive.

Tee Time's carts are similar to Disney's. The differences are Tee Times are black, their roof is shorter in length (doesn't cover the back seats), the back seats are a little smaller, there's no bar on the back behind the seats (bumper?), no front brush guard / bumper, the charger is external (not closed into the back like Disney's) and finally Tee Times has roll down plastic sides for the rain Disney's do not. I know this sounds like a lot of diferences but it's not really. A quick look and the only real obvious difference is the color.

TCD-I don't have pics of all that yet, working on it...it is soooo hot!!! I do however have a few outside pics of Dr. Dan's RV that I will post in a few. They were not home when my husband went over yesterday.

Thanks for the advice Jeff...:rolleyes1 I have a green marker but the black on my Mickey ears is too dark and it won't make a difference.:sad1: Thank you for reading along!:)

We wanted to be closer to the marina and I just really like 100. It doesn't really matter I guess since they share the same entrance to the loops and it is the same distance to walk to the bus stop at either 300 or the settlement. I just wanted to be closer to the marina. We have stayed in both and there are sites in each that would be hard to get into. Just make sure your ressie shows your camper length and slide-outs and awnings and they should(:rolleyes1) put you in a site that will accommodate. When are you coming down? 107 next to me is empty and would be easy to get into!

Thanks so much!!! In response to the questions and replies about the outside golf carts, our only experience is with Tee Time. I agree with the replies so far except for the fact that Kenny's carts are black and white. He was out of the newer carts(BLACK) our last trip, so we got a WHITE one from him. We didn't like the fact that the roof doesn't cover the back seat, but other than that we liked the cart, the windshield and cover and had no problem renting and picking up a cart from him on our trip in May.

Just to add...I replied on the new thread about Cart rental problems and will say that Kenny said he would bring us a cart today, but we have decided that we will go to Target and spend the money on bikes instead. We just don't see the benefit even though we enjoyed it last time. It just (for us) seems like such a waste of money to leave it sitting in cart parking or at the camper all day when we are gone. I hope that Disney doesn't stop outside rentals because it is soooo stoooopid to pay $60+ a day for the carts here. It is kinda funny to see all of them sit at the outpost or settlement all day and know the cost.:rolleyes1
