Air Miles I find is a terrible program and have saved many points and used few. Yesterday I got my statement and it included 200 air miles towards a weekly rental from Alamo. I had already booked a good rate, but taxes in Florida are ridiculous. Our $125/wk midsize, was $181 with taxes.

So cashed in 1,325 Air Miles and am paying $15..... 15 days and counting.

I know what you mean with the airmiles. I'm going to use mine to get a one day car rental on St. Maarten when we cruise in November. By the time I have enough points to fly somewhere, I think I'll be about 80 years old. I just don't accumulate a lot of points on this program.

I used to think the same thing about Air Miles - and it really isn't worth it when you try to save to fly somewhere. But a couple of years agao we started using the points for rewards instead - especially the Famous Player movie passes. 2 admissions + 2 drinks + 1 Pop Corn for 150 points isn't a bad deal (I figure on a weekend at my local FP Coliseum it saves me about $35). I don't pay any extra to collect AM and 150 points adds up quickly.

Yes and 150 points for 5 car washes.... There are a few decent bargains. I have used a couple of one night hotel stays and now the car rental. $270 cdn car rental for 1,325 points is pretty good.....

I have found Air Miles to be quite good for us. My wife and I flew to NYC 4 years ago. Then in October 2000, my wife, son and I flew to Orlando and by next summer we will have enough miles to fly to Calgary.
