DH, myself, DS4, & DS2
flew in from california the day before. stayed at the hilton by the airport. finally on the magic. we've been waiting for this day since last spring break, when we decided we'd do this...

we were on the 9:30 am DCL shuttle fromt the airport. the video they showed really made the hour drive from orlando to port canaveral short. by the time the video was over, we saw the magic! it's really awesome!! tried to take some pix, but couldn't really. at the aft of ship, there's goofy repainting the magic. of course, we missed this great kodak moment! so get your cameras ready!

we checked in at the terminal. it seemed very clean & bright in there. there were lots of chairs & tv screens showing disney cartoons. we got our key to the world card...checked out our dinning rotation. we got APL, which is what i've been hoping for. and they say with little ones, that's the rotation you're most likely to get anyways. we had early seating, btw. before we knew it, it was time to go through the big mickey ears...and we are on our way to our very first cruise!

they announce your family name & where you're from. our lady messed up our name. i don't even know what she said! maybe it was the excitement of finally seeing the ship & being in it for the very first time...i wished i could've remembered what exactly she said. oh well...but as we were walking around there later, i heard her messing up other people's announcements too. so maybe she was just new to it?

DH went to flounder's reef for DS2's reservations, and i went to rockin'd-bar for palo. we both carried our walkie talkies, so if any of our ressies weren't available, we can contact each other right away, and pick another day/time. i have DS2, he took DS4. got both brunch (monday @ 10:30), and dinner (wed @ 6:00), and when i headed to flounders'-it wasn't even open yet. they opened @ 12:30. when it finally opened-we put in our times and that was it! i guess if you're there early, you just fill out this form with your requested time slots-and you've got the ressies!

then it's off to oceaneer's club to check/register DS4 in. another form to fill out, and they ask you if he can eat cupcakes-due to his allergies. (he's allergic to peanuts, and we told the counselors & mentioned it on the form, and had that medical form filled out & faxed over to disney prior to our vacation days). anyways, the counselor asked if he can have cupcakes & cookies for dessert, since he had peanut allergies. i was wondering what does cupcakes & cookies have to do with DS's peanut allergies, but apparently, it's a BIG DEAL, because if one child can't eat it, the whole group can't have any. which is a good thing for the parents-that way they're not exposed to the allergents, whatever that may be. but wow---bummer for other kids! i guess disney takes this allergy thing very seriously. i said cupcakes & cookies are ok, as long as they're not made with peanuts. so on his form, he had "cupcake/cookie OK".

after we got our ressies squared away, it's off to topsiders for lunch. we swung by our stateroom just to see if it was ready, so we can drop off our carry-on. and sure enough it was! our stateroom host, Daniel, was there to greet us! he's soooo sweet! anyways, back to topsiders...oh-the shrimps were delicious! just like everyone mentioned here! my DH isn't a big fan of shrimps, but he did say they were really good! then we checked out the ship a bit, and headed back to our stateroom, cuz our DSs needed a nap.

on a side note-i'm all for saving $$$. but since our boys still took naps, we decided to get cat 6, with a verandah. i figured we could sit out there, and enjoy ourselves, while the boys napped. and it would be really cool for them to see the vast ocean & be out there while the ship is in motion, etc. and i'm glad we decided on cat 6!

4:00pm-the mandatory emergency drill! DS2 didn't want to wear it. it was very restricting on the neck-but we put it on him. poor thing, we knew he was being a good sport about it! but when we got to our station (M), the CM said that we can take it off him, b/c he was crying a bit. and of course, DS4 wanted his off too. but we kept it on him, and reminded him that this is really important, and we all had to do this, etc. overall, the boys did good with the drill. we have pix of how silly we looked!

then it was the sail-away celebration! that was fun! we got frozen yogurt from scoops and ate in the shade. we had a really good spot! it was in front of that bar by the goofy pool. stood on this wooden bench thing right in the back, so we got to see the stage better. it was right next to the plexi glass. it was really fun! everyone was having a good time. the party was so engaging, that we didn't even realize that the ship was moving! i looked over to the side, and that's when i realized that we were actually moving! DS4 was so excited!!!! DS2 as just content, being in daddy's arms & sucking his thumb! yes, he still does that, although we're trying to get him to stop. but, oh well...there are other things to stress over than sucking his thumb, i suppose. after, we walked around the ship some more.

it was 5:20 or so, so we headed back to our stateroom to get ready for dinner. we had table 77. our head server was antonia from croatia, and assistant server was pieter from belgium. food was good. i had smoked salmon (good) and DH had the lobster avocado wrap (good), and tomato salad. that was just some cherry tomatoes with dressing. DH had the grilled sirloin, which was really good! and i had the salmon, which was ok. didn't even have dessert! and i have a sweet tooth! i think i was feeling a bit queasy, and didn't really feel like eating much. and DS2 wasn't really eating much & was sorta acting out of sorts, and we thought maybe he's feeling a bit queasy too. so we asked for green apples-b/c our pediatrician said it cures motion sickness. believe me, it worked!

after dinner, DS4 wanted to go to oc-there was a luau. so we dropped him off- and we went to walt disney theater to watch the welcome aboard variety show. it's a good thing we already had DS4 registered, b/c the line for that was LONG! and since he already had his wristband (which they give you when you first register, and you're suppose to keep it on the entire cruise), he was able to just walk in after they swiped my kttw card. oh, one thing...on the forms for both oc & flounder's reef, they ask for a code word. and when you pick up your child, you're supposed to tell the counselor what your code word is. so that you're picking up the right child. it's their way of securing that a child goes with the right parent/s. in case anyone is wondering about security & what not.

variety show..it was good. some acts were funny. the grand finale was great! i won't spoil it for others...not a big deal, but some surprises are nice! anyways, went to pick up DS4 and gave them a shower and the boys were off to bed!

oh, we ordered room service-milk for the boys, cereal for DH (it's his snack before bed-thought it was so weird, but he does this every night! have to have cereal before bed!), and fruits & cookies to take with us tomorrow.

kew west tomorrow. we've got conch republic tour with acquarium museum. and we also have character breakfast! looking forward to that!

can't wait for another day of fun! DS4 is having fun. DS2, not sure yet. he does seem to get excited when he sees characters. we saw goofy on the way back to our stateroom, and the boys were chasing him! of course, i forgot to bring their autograph books with us! bummer! next time! :wave2:

Thank you for your report. I enjoyed reading it. You have the same servers we had, Antonia and Peiter. We really enjoyed having them as our servers. Hope your trip is great!

I leave in 5 days for my Western Cruise so, I really enjoy reading your report.
