Finalizing plans?

We are 17 days out :woohoo:and I’m trying to finalize our plans. This is always the point where I second guess everything I have planned.

My two big question marks are BBB and beaches and cream. DD is 3 and a half.

I have a 9am BBB on our first full MK day, I booked it 180 days out not knowing how a 3 and a half year old might feel in 6 months. My daughter hasn’t been showing much interest, she is more concerned with getting her face painted (with a rainbow) and has told me she doesn’t want the make up just her hair at BBB and doesn’t want a princess dress. I just feel like this is going to waste an hour of the morning for something she doesn’t really want to do. I keep saying I’ll wait till 24 hours before and cancel if needed, but I just feel like this isn’t what she wants to do! I think I just need a push that it’s ok to cancel this! I worry I’ll regret canceling later.

Beaches and cream, oh how I want to keep you! We love ice cream and I love an old school soda shop! I got a 1150 for our pool day Epcot in the evening (staying at the beach club). However this was also the day I was able to get a FoP FP for my husband (me and dd can’t ride) so I’m now thinking forget beaches and cream do AK this day and do the pool the next day. Also canceling the beaches and cream would give us a bit more flexibility. We could still do the pool then hit up AK then hit up Epcot, just do AK and Epcot, send husband alone to AK and he could meet us later or whatever we wanted. Keeping beaches and cream kinda forces us to stick around Epcot/the hotel in the AM. Am I going to regret giving up this ADR?

So keep/cancel BBB? Keep/cancel beaches and cream?

To be honest I think I want to cancel both, I just want the validation I’m not ruining this trip by canceling them!

You will absolutely not ruin the trip by cancelling!
BBB would take quite a bit of time, and if your DD isn't excited about it, why do it?
I would also cancel the Beaches and Cream, but keep looking for cancellations to pop up. You could very well get another one at a time/day that works better for you.

For what it's worth, I always second and third guess my plans as my trip gets closer and closer... it's a curse of uber planners!

For BBB, based on what you have described, I would be very apt to cancel that. I'm not sure how much any 3 year old would get out of the experience, to be honest and if she is already saying there is more about it she doesn't want to do than actually do, then I would save the time and money there and cancel. That being said, I would probably take full advantage of your allowable cancellation window just in case because 3 year olds have a way of changing their minds!

Beaches & Cream, we love it there and it's a must do for us every trip. It's also a next to impossible ADR to get and moving it around on a different day is usually not an option at all, as you are finding out. Is there any way you can work that day so that it's pool morning then AK, instead of pool day then EP? If you already had a planned AK day, just swap it out with this day instead. That would be my first choice.

Cancel them.

If your daughter would rather get her face painted, that's less expensive and time consuming, and she will love it. We did that at MK when my kids were younger, and I kind of rolled my eyes at it, because you can get your face painted lots of other places. But my husband said, "It's vacation. Let them do it." And they loved it and were so happy the rest of the day. And I have a picture of my son at four years old sacked out on his dad's shoulder with his face painted like a tiger. It's really cute.

And chances are, you will be able to pick up a Beaches and Cream the next day. Just set up a watch on one of the websites and check periodically that week. And if you don't, it won't ruin your trip.

That FoP fastPass is a huge deal. Somehow, you need to let your husband use that fastPass.

Oh that is a nonnegotiable, we will either go with him or he will go alone. That’s happening no matter what else happens the rest of the day!

Thanks everyone!

I’m still torn, but feeling better and better about canceling both reservations!

I will probably hold out a bit longer, but I just think it will work better for us if we cancel.
