I still think that at least an informal meet up on the first night (before or after meeting the Podcast team) would be a good time to start then more meet-ups can be arranged as we go along. A lot of us will be alone without friends or family. Ok, I know that all Disers are a friendly bunch, but I know that I personally will feel a bit more comfortable enjoying all the festivities that the weekend is sure to include if I already know some faces and names, kwim?

FYI - I added a post to the "tracking attendance" thread about organizing a opening day meet. I mention that my current plans already had me at the Poly for Trader Sam's and watching the fireworks from the beach which could be a neat way to do a meet up if people are interested (be they single or otherwise)

Suggestions have included Dole Whips at the Polynesian (it's right next door to the TTC), a Disney Springs meet up, Singles Team for the scavenger hunt, a late-night resort lounge get together, etc.

Dole Whips on Friday night on the beach at Polynesian watching the fireworks might be loads of fun!

I think once the rest of the Official events get set we can then start to figure our the other ideas - definitely should be room for a few things. Plus my guess is there will be quite a number of people there so even if more than one thing is at the same time we should be ok!

Oh my goodness, that is so funny.

Honestly, though...I think that once we secure a time and location for the singles meet-up, I really have no problem for others (married or not) to join. It would be nice to get to know everyone in a casual atmosphere anyway.
