Final Payment using Reward Points

I posted this on the Theme Park thread but haven't gotten any responses:

Can I charge the final payment to my Disney Visa, to earn the 6 months no interest, and then use my rewards points as payment? Or do I apply the rewards first, and charge the balance?

I called Chase yesterday asking this question. They told me to apply my gift cards first (reward points would be like a gift card) then, pay the balance using your VISA. As long as it's a package and Disney reservations codes it as a package, it will qualify for the 6 months financing. I asked Chase again to make sure I understood it correctly because I was concerned since I was not putting the entire amount on my Disney VISA ( I will be applying some gift cards first) and he assured me that any amount (as long as it was coded as a package from Disney) would qualify for the special financing.

I haven't done this yet because my balance is n't due til next month. I am just going by what they told me.

To OP, no you can't. The reward cards can only be used as a form of payment TO Disney. No one else, including Chase, will accept them as payment. As PP said, you can apply the points/cards to Disney as partial payment for the package. then charge the remaining balance to Chase for the 6 month no interest.
