Final Night at PI Rumors

I love these.. I hope they're true.. they sound almost too good to be true..

• Frankie and West End Boys may return for one or two nights at closing! I heard they were otherwise engaged at another venue currently. But this rumor COULD be true.
• Fireworks & Confetti cannons again on the final night!
• Perhaps even dancers on the roof(s) again at midnight!
• New Years Countdown one final time ... on closing night

Basically the rumor mill is saying .. a return to the 'early days' for the final night.

Those would at least mean a bittersweet goodbye if true.

Disney doesn't care enough about PI or the memories it holds to bring in more entertainment, even on the final night.

Of course I'm now taking donations for a 500 dollar plane ticket to see if I'm proven wrong

We will be there on the 27th of September. I hope they do something so that it can close in style. I wonder if it will be as mobed as I think it will.

I doubt very seriously if they do anything special at all. They removed the air cannons for the confetti several years ago. In order for them to bring in extra entertainment, they will have to pay overtime. They have not cared about Pleasure Island for a very long time. I doubt that will change on Sept 27th

One thing for sure we need to do and that is make sure Pleasure Island is filled to capacity its last night. It will be upper managements worst nightmare and the best way for her to go out! Pleasure Island will leave as it started very popular and very profitable! Kungaloosh!

I suspect Disney has pretty much assumed that will be the case.

A mix of locals and idiots like me who'll fly in for this... should ensure that.

Frankie and the West End Boys still play together? Thought they went their separate ways.

In fairness to WDW, when the Beach Club closed, they did give us a reunited Kabang and let the place stay open until at least 3. And plastic sharks, too. So they are not as totally heartless as some of the earlier posts suggest. Not that I expect them to shell out a lot of money.

I have been hearing rumors that the AC is booked for a private event until 9pm or 10pm on the final night.

I still have confetti saved from 2002. I would love to be able to add some 2008 confetti to the scrapbook.

DW and I will be there for sure. They could easily do the fireworks again since the barges that hold the firing tubes are sitting under tarps tied off in the water between the Art of Disney and SSR.

We are deciding if it is worth our time to go there since it sounds like it is the last time we will have the opportunity. We have never been in any of the clubs (DW does not like crowded clubs and I don't like to go by myself), so it might be fun since it will be the last time.

I should drag out all my AC pins and make a peacock lanyard and wear them. Finally I will use my locking pin backs. I could wear all -- except the JUMBO! Thank goodness I got those pins.

Yup, always happy to meet PI fans! I'm hoping someone organizes a rally/protest that could bring all the fans together.

I've got a number of PI pins I can wear including one for Mannequins. I don't think there were ever pins made with BET, 8TRAX or Motion on them.
