Final Disney questions:

I am about 2.5 weeks from making my trip and had a few final questions:

1. I have decided to go with a rental car for the entire week to provide me with flexability. I am staying at Pop Century, if I chose to drive over to the parks do I have to pay to park there?

2. I have a 4 day MYW pass, can I come and go from a park on a given day? My plan is on the day we visit Epcot, we go over early, do part of the park, return to the hotel and then go back in the late afternoon to Epcot. Is this allowable?

3. My tickets are suppose to be tied to my room card, how does this system work?

4. What is parking like at the hotels, especially Pop Century? What is parking like around Downtown Disney, Boardwalk and such other non theme park areas?

5. About how long does check in at the hotels take?

Good questions.

Parking is free at the parks for resort guests. You'll be given a parking pass at check-in that you leave on the dash board. They'll just wave you through at the parking fee toll area.

Haven't stayed at Pop, but I've heard parking is not always abundant. You are going at an off-peak time, so I wouldn't anticipate a big problem. DD and BW also have crowded lots, but you should be okay in Sept/Oct.

Check in times vary according to crowds. Hard to predict. However, I've never waited more than 10 min before I got up to the desk. (I've stayed value and deluxe).

Even if you don't have hoppers, you can leave and re-enter the same park on the same day. Just get your hand stamped before you leave. At check-in you'll be given your room key card. It also has your park admission loaded onto it. (Dining too, if you do DDP!) Those cards are pretty important!

Enjoy! :)

You will receive a parking pass for your vehicle that is good at all Disney locations.

2. I have a 4 day MYW pass, can I come and go from a park on a given day? My plan is on the day we visit Epcot, we go over early, do part of the park, return to the hotel and then go back in the late afternoon to Epcot. Is this allowable?

Yes. Just not other parks.

3. My tickets are suppose to be tied to my room card, how does this system work?

Like a credit card. Works for the door, works at the parks.

4. What is parking like at the hotels, especially Pop Century? What is parking like around Downtown Disney, Boardwalk and such other non theme park areas?

Pop Century has big parking lots like you would see at the shopping mall. Depending where your room is, you might be next to the parking or have to walk a little way.

5. About how long does check in at the hotels take?

Depends on how busy they are, what time of day it is. The lines seem to move pretty quick when it is off season.

Don't know about downtown Disney. Have fun! :goodvibes

ETA: I don't think they are doing hand stamps any more. I posted the same time as the other poster, so sorry for duplicate answers. :)

We didn't drive to it (took the Disney bus) but Downtown Disney had an ENORMOUS parking area. I just can't see you not being able to find parking there!

HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME! :Pinkbounc

As an earlier poster stated, parking at Pop Century is plentiful, but depending what building your room is in, you might/might not have quite a walk to your car. IMHO driving to Epcot and DS is adventageous over taking the Disney bus system. Possibly also for AK, although I heard that at AK the buses arrive there before they start letting cars in, so if you go early, it might be better to take Disney buses. (This may not still be happening, so check.) Taking the bus to MK is again, IMHO adventageous in that buses go directly to the front gate, at least a short/long walk to the front gate (since the Pop Century dropoff/pickup is the farthest stop), rather than having to take a tram from your parking place, and then catch either the monorail or ferry to the front gate. Hope this helps. Have a great time.

Same answers as above, except, you no longer have to have your hand stamped to re-enter the park. Also, if you have park Hoppers, this mean you could go to MK in the morning, go to Epcot afternoon/evening and back over to MK if you'd like.

Also, you have a limited time (usually 3 hour limit) to park at other resorts if you don't have ADR's for a restaurant at that resort.

Downtown Disney parking seems to depend on which part you're going to. Seems whenever we're there, there is plenty of parking at West Side, but finding a spot at the Marketplace can sometimes be tough as the lots there aren't nearly as big.

Boardwalk parking isn't too bad, there's a large self-park lot to the right inside the security gate.

We stayed at the Pop in August and drove to Epcot and the Animal Kingdom, easy trips to each. Epcot was maybe 10 minutes from door to lot. Didn't drive to MGM, but it's closer than Epcot. I would recommend taking the bus to the MK, though, much simpler than parking, then monorailing, THEN getting to the gate.

Okay then with the hand stamp gone, how do you go and come from a park on a given day?

Also, is it difficult to get to I.D. from Pop and the parks?
