Final clearance......

Forgot to tell you guys yesterday that my surgeon gave me clearance to come to DIS-Con. That is, if I behave myself. Like that's going to happen.

I was kinda worried, to tell the truth. The big "H" was a lot bigger than the doctor expected. I coulda told him that weeks ago. One doesn't walk around WDW with the problem and not expect some major damage.

As it is, I have no feeling from the waist down, but that shouldn't be a problem, right? Just teasing......

Steve, that is awesome news! Maybe Bandit helped Daddy get better faster? Thank goodness for dogs, my pup "Mikey" has pulled me through many" adventures in living" {divorce, relocation, teenagers...}. Wouldn't it be nice if WDW had a "Pet Appreciation" week? Let the dogs run through the fountains, eat left-overs from WS, meet Pluto, nap in Toon Town!

Steve, my DH had a hernia repair in 1985. He was 27 at the time and the Dr. thought that he'd had it since he was a teen. He told me after surgery that if he'd known that it was as bad as it had been, (starting to leak) he would have never allowed him the extra two weeks till surgery time

I also suspected you were a little hesitant lately. I'm so glad that you've gotten your "walking" papers DIS CON wouldn't have been the same without ya!

As for your beautiful dog, I can bet he doesn't even think that he's a dog! Right?

Yes, ma'am, Ms. Barb! I will behave myself between now and then. One thing I'm good at is obeying orders (but we won't go there....) .

Funny how people (Tia and Gerri) can pick up on little nuances of character that tell them that all is not well with another person. I used to have that with my mom. Anyway, yes I was nervous about not being able to come, because out of all my trips this year, DIS-Con was the one I was most looking forward to. One major hurdle jumped over....a couple of minor ones to go. But not to worry. Wild horses couldn't keep me away now!

PS Don't tell Bandit he's a dog. He has no idea.

Gosh, Steve, I guess I'm a little slow, well a lot slow.........ok, I was clueless. I'm sorry, pal, I had no idea you were thinking you might not make it to DIS-Con. I did notice you weren't posting a whole lot, but things get in the way and that's what I thought. I'm not always real quick to pick things up. I am glad everything's ok and you will be joining us. As when Tia had her momentary change in plans, it wouldn't be the same without you.

Steve: I am really relieved!!!! I was worried bc I didn't see you posting so much. You have been through so much lately that you really deserve to be in top shape at DisCon. Well, you may have to be more careful with yourself, find time for rest, etc.

Now if you only could find a way to smuggle Bandit...

Glad to hear the doctor gave you the ok to come. It would definately been missing something without our resident beast

Surgery sucks. Don't care what kind, it is always difficult recovering and always takes longer than you think going into it. I had 6 surgeries in 9 years. Bad patch of time. But, am now surgery free for 11 years. Life is much better without people cutting you open and poking around in your insides.


We would never tell your 'son' that he is a c.a.n.i.n.e. It would shock him forever!

Anyhoo, glad to hear you are on the mend. Take it easy and do not injure yourself in any way, shape or form before dis-con. That is an order! (hehehehe)

I'm glad to hear that you're feeling much better Steve. Reading your trip reports had me wondering how this was going to affect your DisCon plans. I'm glad the big "H" has been excised and that you're ready to go!!

As for the other problem, don't worry, I'm sure things will pick up sooner or later!
