(Final 8/12)The WILDEST Ride in the Wilderness!" Princess Half Marathon TR/Feb.2014

There was a time when we did the Dumbo Dash. Miss those days, why do kids have to grow up?

I will take this time to admit several times in the last few weeks when it's a school night and I realize at 10pm that I forgot to put my two older ones to sleep. You know- the 8 &11 year old. During State Standardized testing week when the teacher sent home all that paperwork that says "good nights rest & eat healthy".

My kids are up at 10, watching TV, eating ice-cream. Because mommy's on the damn computer! :rolleyes1

And for the record, I think the ONLY step is admitting it. There's no use going any further than that!

:rotfl2:

Joining in and all caught up! Looks like you are having a blast and can't wait to read more! I really want to do this race and hope to in 2015 or 2016. It might be hard in 2015 because we will be going to WDW for my son's H.S. chorus in April.

Too funny with the Jazz Hands confusion. I actually dance, this is my 9th year as an adult. Yes, at 44 I am in the dance recital in the tap and jazz adult numbers. So we use jazz hands all the time :)

Yes! That's what we called it! It's why I oblige when she insists we do things a certain way because I know that she still holds it dear... :lovestruc

Yay for more Jazz hands!! :wave2:

It's hard to plan these trips around other trips! I'm struggling with that a lot, Savannah wants to go back to Disney already (go figure) and knows I'm going without her next February. We have plans to go to Orlando for a weekend for Playlist Live in March next year and she's trying to convince me to add Disney days in...and I have no idea how I can pull it off! Never enough days in the year for Disney trips! ;)

Did I mention I love rope drop? ;)

Down the rabbit hole we went! Teacup time and no wait this time of morning!! I decided to let the girls spin and take a million pictures...yes, I'm predictable.

WDWPrincesshalf00180.jpg

as the girls were getting on, Alice & the White Rabbit came up with a little girl that looked maybe like a Make-a-Wisher. They got on and rode as well, I love that. :lovestruc

WDWPrincesshalf00181.jpg

Let the spinning commence! Savannah likes to spin this thing like a madwoman, I was hoping Eleanor could stomach it!

You can see Alice & the rabbit in this one...

WDWPrincesshalf00184.jpg

Yep, Eleanor liked it!
WDWPrincesshalf00183.jpg

When they got off, we followed Alice & the rabbit right over and got in line to meet them! I was so excited that they were out right when we were there, Alice is one of Eleanor's favorite characters! This was the first face-character they met and I was interested in how that would go over. In the past when Savannah was younger, she was more comfortable with the non-face characters. Alice did not disappoint! This was a total home run for the girls. I have very little idea what they chatted for, for so long, but something about the Doormouse (Savannah) and putting jam on their noses!

Ah, Disney magic! (I would love to put the heart smiley face here but I'm at my limit for image space on this post! Grrrr!) The White Rabbit actually kissed Savannah as well but I had thought they were finished and turned the camera off! It was a fantastic meet, I think one of our best and far better than any of the meal meet & greets.

Up next...Did I tell you that I love rope drop? I'm not sure if I did. LOL.

Cute pics of Alice & White Rabbit! :thumbsup2

Glad that even though they are teeny-boppers- they can 'let their hair down' (so to speak) and enjoy the magic that is Disney!

Fun meet and greet with Alice and the White Rabbit! I've always liked Alice in Wonderland but it was never a favorite but after meeting Alice a couple times in the parks it's moving on up! Alice is always fantastic! And that movie gives them a lot a material for chatting, I love it!

You captured some great pictures of the meet!

The pictures do a great job showing how much interaction there was! Amazing! How fun to see the girls enjoy it so much. :goodvibes

And the tea cups. :rotfl2: Looks like they have fun spinning themselves silly. :goodvibes

Yep, they really didn't have any issues with acting like stuff was "above them"...I consider that the magic of Disney, even my teenage boys loved Disney and thought it was cool when they went. :goodvibes

Thanks! I love Alice and the interaction was so much fun for them! Their second favorite...next to Peter Pan (more on that later!)

They had a blast, I love that I got so many shots of them interacting, they loved seeing these. :lovestruc

Did I say how much I love that you love rope drop? My favorite time of the day...of course I am a morning person anyway!

I love the character interactions with the girls. I love looking at the sweet moments with little ones and characters, but I find that the character interactions with teens seems to be engaging on a different level. I never thought Ab would want to stand in character lines, but that was her favorite thing! She had awesome moments with so many characters...her and Rupunzal exchanged hair tips and talked about boys...while she in Tink talked about being pixie sized. I don't know how the cast members do it while in character...making the magic no matter what age!

Is it still rope drop??? ;)

After our Teacup and Alice adventure it was time to use a FP+! Now, normally I would schedule FP+ for afternoon and hit rope drop for standby, at least that's what I think will work best with the parameters of FP+. Today, however, we were only going to be in the park in the morning because the afternoon was for swimming, relaxing, and resting before the upcoming race! So, I made all three of our FP reservations for morning. The first was Peter Pan!

WDWPrincesshalf00205.jpg

I would run to Peter Pan the way Savannah runs to Dumbo, if I could. It's one of my favorite rides and I don't feel like I'm really at Disney until I ride it. I also cannot get through it without tearing up. It's the music or something. It just makes me happy and feels SO DISNEY...if that makes sense.

So, we hopped on. My blurry shot of the boat before hopping in. No shots on this one, I have spent many-a-ride shooting on PP and realized that I just would rather sit back and soak it all up into my brain instead of my camera.
WDWPrincesshalf00206.jpg

We had already done so much! I'm unsure of how close it was to 10am, but the Peter Pan FP was from 9-10am, so I know it was BEFORE 10am when we rode it. Ah, I remember now! It was close to 10am, but not quite yet because we had a 10am FP for Little Mermaid and we were a bit early. This is when I tested out whether you could use your FP+ early and I would like to report that you can go in EXACTLY 5 minutes before your FP time. I know this because later in the trip we tried at about 7 minutes early and were told we were too early.

Our walk over to LM, we saw our bird friend again. Yep, it was the same bird...I think he followed us around the whole week. :p
WDWPrincesshalf00207.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00208.jpg

Sooooo close to opening! It BETTER be open next February. Hurry it up Disney!
WDWPrincesshalf00209.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00211.jpg

LOVE the theming in the line, although we didn't wait in line, so I had to snap quick while we walked right on!

WDWPrincesshalf00212.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00213.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00214.jpg

I didn't take many pics, Savannah took a long video, but I have no way of sharing it??

After LM we checked out Big Top Treats, we had not gone in this shop on our last trip, so we wanted to explore a bit.

WDWPrincesshalf00218.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00219.jpg

I'm glad I wasn't hungry when we were in there! :bitelip:
WDWPrincesshalf00220.jpg

When we came out we were going to hop the train to go ride Big Thunder (I had a FP for 11-12pm) but we had JUST missed the train, so we turned around and decided to walk over there. We stopped by the Tangled bathroom area and each got a drink b/c we were thirsty. Fanciest bathroom area in history. It's still just a bathroom though, nothing to get excited about??
WDWPrincesshalf00221.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00222.jpg

We enjoyed our walk over to Big Thunder, we ALWAYS take the wooden walkway by the water, I love it!
WDWPrincesshalf00223.jpg

Ahhhh, my PRECIOUS!!!!!!!
WDWPrincesshalf00225.jpg

view of the castle...where I might add I'm not allowed to photoshop out the crane because Savannah says it was there and it's wrong to remove something that was THERE. :rolleyes2
WDWPrincesshalf00224.jpg

Look at that! 10:25am, we had already done everything in Fantastyland we wanted and walked over to Big Thunder! Did I mention I love rope drop??? ;)

WDWPrincesshalf00226.jpg

and since it was a 20 minute standby (i.e. walkon) and our FP wasn't until 11am, we went in the standby first!

Up next...Eleanor's first ride on the WILDEST RIDE IN THE WILDERNESS!!!!!!!

I don't even know how to go to Disney without doing Rope Drop! I live for it. When it starts getting busy around noon, I'm ready to head out, totally spoiled by short lines and no crowds!

The character interactions were really interesting (and cool) this trip! In the past Savannah has been uncomfortable with the face characters (she was super shy when younger) and liked the non-face characters, but something changed in the last year and she LOVED the face characters way more than the non-face characters this time! It was pretty cool! :lovestruc

How cool Alice and White Rabbit rode the tea cups with that little girl :goodvibes

Looks like Eleanor and savannah had a great character Interaction with them. Love all the pics :cutie:

I have only done rope drop once, but it was awesome. Would definitely do it again :thumbsup2

Actually, this is my favorite spot in all of MK now :). Everyone kept teasing me in February that I wouldn't go into any other bathrooms, and I had to stop for pictures every time we passed. I have to say Tangled is right up there for me with Beauty and the Beast, and I just love that they gave it a nod with this area. The music is awesome too :thumbsup2

Thanks! It's definitely a must do for us, especially with the limited FP's now! Allows you to get more done.

I thought it was so pretty (you can never go wrong with Disney theming, even for a bathroom area!) and wished I had time to use one of the charging stations by the tables, I think that is SO COOL that they put those in! I also read on another TR lately that it's a pretty cool place to sit and watch Wishes! Totally different vantage point, but apparently the fireworks are above and all around you! :thumbsup2

You don't like rope drop do you:rotfl2: anywhoo just started reading your tr love it :cool1: can't wait to read more

I love reading your updates except for one thing-all the amazing pictures make me wish I was back there RIGHT NOW!:furious:

But since this is the next best thing, I'll keep reading

Oh, and add me to the "I love rope drop club!" My sister and I discovered it on our last trip-its amazing!

Yay for getting to do another "traditional" ride. I am glad that WDW has Peter Pan still as a dark ride. I wish they still had Snow White.... :sad2:

Ariel has the best ride queue in WDW! I think it is nice ride...but that queue really makes it! (unlike in DLR..the queue is non existent)

The restrooms are one of my favorite on property. I LOVE that they have made them so heavily themed! :goodvibes I can't go by without taking pictures.

I'm excited, Savannah finally got her video up and running! She made is completely on her own and I loved seeing the trip through her eyes. Unfortunately, she ran out of space on her memory card and we were so busy we just didn't think to find another. She didn't get to get as many clips as she wanted, but I think she did a fabulous job and I LOVE it! :lovestruc

Savannah's Disney Video 2014

Yes, that's me in the middle of it, doing the cupid shuffle. I know I can't dance, let's not point out the obvious! :lmao:
